Finally cloned my Carb12 (first item cloned!) and slapped them on my Panther. As someone pointed out earlier, it is definitely not an OP load out, but it is effective. They do put a bigger dent in full-health tanky mechs, but they still need at least two clips to take them down alone. And that’s ok. I like the pair on the Panther, but I also miss the SB. So next move will be to clone the Panther (though I haven’t completely ruled out ranking up the Guardian yet - that will depend on what mood I’m in when I have enough credits to do either one) and run SB16+CB8 on it until hell freezes over and I have enough a-coins for a RG.

Can you do me a favor (and anyone else who uses dual 12s that reads this)?
Just out of curiosity, when you play the next few games, try and take note of how far from your target you are when you use the CB 12s. A general average is fine... guestimations work, just a broad look at it is all I want. I have this theory and am curious if it holds up. I don't want any confirmation bias so I am not telling you the theory
But yeah, just use them naturally, but try and determine at what range you normally use them, and if you can remember, how well they do at different ranges for you. I don't want to make you use them at any particular range or anything, I just want to know what you do, without thinking about it, when you use them. "How do you employ them instinctively?" is another way to put it.
If you don't remember, just don't want to, or can't do it without screwing up your gameplay, then don't worry about it... I'm just curious.

Sorry, I’m usually too busy getting killed to notice! I try to stay beyond 30m with just about anything to avoid Killy and Surge dashes, EMP’s, system crashes, even though AI cheats like a MF and can reach you from 40. However I’m not usually very successful at, because they mostly seem to get me. But I’ll wing a guess and say between 30-100m is probably the norm. Curious though how AI ALWAYS has a Killshot nearby whenever I drop the Panther. And always when I’m targeting something else. Never fails. Just like half the reds are running around with Shadows when I’m running Javs. Yes, today has been another one of those days.

Just saw this and I rarely shoot anything when they're on my Panther in the ideal range (<30m). It's just too dangerous. I'm usually 40-70m out. Out of KS kill range. Guardian though, I'm frequently within the 30m range. I have to plan for it, but I do it often enough to where I notice the difference. I would say I fire effectively with Guardian at every range from 15-75m, depending on the situation.

The range makes enough difference that I just don't use them on anything other than the Guardian. Yes they work on other mechs, either in a hybrid build or dual, but the most consistent performance, for me, was on a Guardian in the ideal range. Map positioning and having flanks covered and an exit route planned out is helpful though, lol. System Crash makes it amazing. While that is on cooldown... it's a toss up as to who is going to win.

I try to engage beyond 40m too, but often get blindsided by KS. I still prefer CB12 on the Panther because it's so responsive and fast on it's feet. The Stasis Field recharges fairly quickly too so I'm usually good to go with it again when I resposition and come out of cover.

I think I shoot 80% from 50 to 75m and 20% from around 90 to 100 with CB12 on Panther. I also almost never fail to kill a freshly spawned Jugg with full shield. It,s one of my favorite things 😁.

I just got my firsy Carb12, and i was wondering approximately how long will it take me to aquire the needed blueprints to clone it?....assuming that i do not buy any prints.

I'd say several months at least. I didn't buy the CB12 until recently and had been hoarding any blueprints I got from crates, and I still had to buy some at the end there to rank it up.

Yep... crate grinding and shooting for any big crate rewards from Events or Tourneys is the way. I've actually gotten lucky with several CB 12 BPs, lately, in the Silver Crates... now that they have been copied -_- but there is no real way to ETA it since it is so based on luck.
They are definitely few and far between. I just put it out of my mind and ran the 12 with either a CB 10 on a Guardian or with a TL 6 on KS and just didn't think about it until I had a pretty large stash of ACoins and credits built up. Had enough for a few levels, but like you, had to buy a couple with ACoins too. I didn't keep tabs of specifics... but it's safe to say that it takes a while.

Oh, see, I acted like I wanted to upgrade something else and ended up with a crap-ton of carb13 bp’s. My struggle was getting enough credits. Gotta see what I have for SB12 bp’s now and see if that’s worth cloning or not. Or what kind of mood I’m in when I get enough credits and/or a-coins to do the next big thing.

Sorry for digging up a dead thread, but I just didn't want to create a new one for this, AND I think it can add to the whole CB 12 discussion.
One 12, once copied, is pretty damned dangerous on its own, and can make some damned fun hybrid builds.
I hate mortars... but there are times when they need to be ran.
I tried this, today, because I have a Guardian task and was pleasantly surprised:
It did a good job on the Mesa-Verde map (I think that's the name...)
Now these were all AI, and not the highest difficulty, but I found so many opportunities to hit things that I think it could translate to higher leveled enemies. The System Crash and CB 12 def helps a LOT at shorter ranges against folk that come for ya; at mid range both weapons can be utilized effectively; and then if you are not anywhere near a Red and don't have direct LoS, the Mortars can hit them... which was working very well when Reds were defending or attacking a beacon together. I will try it some more in CPC and large open TDM maps, before making a full judgement... but it's definitely promising. As far as relevance to the thread, I don't think there are many single weapons that can give you as much flexibility + power as the CB 12, one more thing to consider if anyone is deciding to clone it or not.
Cheers for reading if you got this far!

ⓣⓡⓘⓒⓚⓨ48 Nice pic of the Guardian. Made me wish for the ability to have back weapons in the game. Maybe someone can fudge this....but imagine: Guardian with dual RM12 on the back, and dual CB12 on the arms... Or dual SB12 on the arms... Or dual SG4 to give it the "over and under" look of the Marauder's arms from Battetech/Mechwarrior.

Kind of like BoT does it... maybe. But yeah that would be a cool visual... if I had Photoshop skills I would hook you up!

They could do it without killing game balance - just limit the max EN level for the mech and implement that third weapon like Killy’s dash. Maybe even make that third weapon like a special ability. It would open a whole lot of options and still maintain balance.
