So, I've been running the CB12 for a few days now and I have some thoughts about it when paired with various weapons. My long term plan is to clone the CB12 and run it on my Guardian. CB12/TL6 This was my first based on mechtout 's numbers in this Thermal Lance thread. It's a good build, but it suffers a bit on the Zephyr. I did run it on the Jugg for a bit and did better with it there. The pros is that I can kite with the Zephyr and no longer have to play it as a pure ambush bot. The con is that it doesn't do it's damage fast enough to kill most mechs during the EMP duration. Good combination but not that great on the Zephyr. with PC6 I was curious about this and tried it. Again, not that great on the Zephyr and decent on the Jugg. Damage is close to with TL6 with better damage up close and lesser damage further out. with MR6 This is actually a decent ambush build. I put the CB12 on the left arm cause for some reason, I corner shoot better that way. With the fire button closer to my ranging right thumb, it also works great as a kiting weapon, and then when I get into 30m, I can EMP and then step out and go full bore with both guns. Pros is that it's fairly versatile, cons is that it can kill smaller mechs during the EMP duration, but cannot kill tanks. with RPG6 I'm actually really liking this right now. I can kite with both guns blazing and do decent ambush damage within the EMP window while backing up and heading to cover. The firing cycles of both guns actually line up almost perfectly. When firing both at the same time, the RPG6 will run out first, which leaves me about 3 more salvos from the CB12 as I head to cover. When the CB12 runs out and reloads, it actually reloads 1 second slower than the RPG6, so I'm ready to go back into action with both guns ready. Plus, with the RPG6's faster projectile speed, I can track and hit targets with both guns while taking advantage of the auto-aim assist function. So, as usual, while the MR6 will dish out more overall damage, I'll actually score more hits with the RPG6. I think that if anyone got the CB10 and had ranked up their Zephyr, a decent build would be with MR8. The CB10 is only a bit weaker than the CB12 and the MR8 does tremendous damage on it's own.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the CB12 builds KB. Did you get to arm the CBs on any 12E small mech builds? I’m sitting on 12,000 ACoins twiddling my thumbs and really curious how a Shadow armed with the CB12s would be.

No I haven't yet and I don't really intend to. I already know in my mind that it wouldn't work well for me. The CB12 is a sustained fire weapon with higher than average DPS, but it's still a sustained damage weapon. I think it can do well on the Shadow due to the Shadow's fast foot speed and stealth and I think a single CB12 does way more damage than 2 PC6's, but I'm still married to the JR6 build for my Shadow. Nothing else really has the staying ability to really use the CB12 well. I might try it on my KS one day after I rank my KS to get 18EN.

I expect at least one of those would have one when I run the Fun hangar builds. I think I liked it on the MD more, mainly because I can heal up any damage taken from standing out and sustaining the love for a bit. Shadow is still good with it, but along the same lines as what Koala said, it lends itself to other builds too, so that for variety's sake I would probably run either SGs, MR6s, or Javs on it. That said, if I was just running it on rotation within my normal hangar, it would be a strong contender for the build if against higher opponents.

I'm not now due to testing out the Zep MR 8, but it's a killer build. I didn't think of trying it on the Zep yet, and now I will lol.

Firing times are not great together but it puts a lot of ordinance downrange at the enemy. I've ran that one a lot too... before I had the 10s, mostly. They both have their place IMO.
Also IMO, the KS is perfect for MR8 + C10 due to how quickly you can change from Kiting and keeping distance to full-on "CHAAAARGE!" and Alpha Strike, and then back again... taking advantage of the way you use each weapon, singularly and together, depending on the situation. With how unreliable the Dash is, now, having both the MR and the Carb can help make up for that when focusing on aggressive tactics. On the Zep, well, I will have to try it out. I'm more shy and "ambushy" in my Zep still... as it's still new to me, but I can imagine that it will work well.
I do still run the PC 8 version, though, sometimes on a Tank, since there is something to be said for suppression fire, as well. Kiting is definitely more doable than CQB in that build, and allows for more coordinated crossfire with squads with fewer reloading moments.
Both builds are good... especially with R5 or higher performance factored in... but unfortunately we don't really get rewarded for making an enemy hide, so if I am running solo I try to kill all that moves with the more aggressive builds, if possible.

I might have to rethink my Zephyr build a bit...
CB12/RPG6 is great against light mechs but I'm still having trouble against tanks, even without their shield up. I guess I'm just missing the RG16 on the Zep a bit, cause with that, there weren't many mechs that I couldn't outright destroy. My build right now work well in CPC, but not so great in TDM battles. The Zep is still just too fragile to take out of cover for long. You literally have to cover hop and hope no one sees you.
On the flip side, I started upgrading the CB12 and the Panther. I ran out of credits but I think I have enough to level the CB12 to R5.7 and probably just need a bit of A-coins to clone it at R6. I don't have enough blueprints for the Panther though, so looks like I'll be getting the CB12 done before the Panther is ready. I guess I'll play around with my second one on mechs like the Shadow and KS to see how they fare.

I guess I'll play around with my second one on mechs like the Shadow and KS to see how they fare. Yeah, I don't usually run the Zep for that reason... it's squishy... even at R5. I do like those little spots though... where you can lockdown multiple folk for a few seconds... like on yesterday's Tourney map. So far, I think I like the RG plan (don't have one yet...) and will prolly try that, first, once I finally get mine.
Once you clone that CB 12, you have to try both on Guardian. At least once. I am pretty concrete about that build, for now... it's clutch. Even if you know you have plans that are different... it's just too good not to try. Again, not a Guaranteed formula to walk you through the match with all the kills, thank God MA isn't like that. But it's just so damned good.
Congrats on the progress! I have been working too much, lately, to be able to really sit down and play more than a few games at a time, again, so I am not sure where I want to focus now that I have the CB 12 copied. I am still in the 120k XP range, so will prolly just hoard stuff for a while... but man, I just have this hankering for an R6 Lancer. But 2 Panthers is also on my list... and upgrading the RM 12 to at least R5... and copying the LA 10... and maxing the MD (for the HP and healing, not for the second copy), and... and... and...

Oh, I'm DEFINATELY going to try the dual CB12 on the Guardian! In my head, I've been playing with the 24EN builds that I will have. In the not so distant future, I will have 3 24EN mechs: 2 Panthers and a Guardian.
The first Panther I'm going to keep with dual SB12, just because the SB12 takes a very long time to deal it's damage so therefore the Stasis Field is a must have. The second Panther will be my Thanos build because I find myself very weak in close range with the Guardian right now. While being able to drop tanks' shields is great, I think the Stasis Field would be better so that I can make sure my close range RG16 shots land more often.
The dual CB12, I will put on the Guardian. In my head, being able to drop tank shields and then start chewing into the juicy meat with the CB12s will be awesome. Plus, the CB12s hit hard at close range, so the Guardian won't be so helpless anymore, and plus, the CB12s can track fast light mechs at close range way better than my spray and pray with the Thanos build.

So, I managed to clone my CB12 already. Funny how I had just enough blueprints saved up! I slapped both CB12s on my Guardian and holy smokes, I gotta say, aesthetically, the Guardian looks like it was made for dual CB12. On that note, I feel that there are some builds that just feel like "meant to be". For example, Panther with dual SB12 is meant to be. And the Thanos build, from what I've seen, looks better on the Panther than it does on the Guardian, so that's also meant to be.
Anyway, I'm still adjusting my playstyle for the Guardian. I've gotten so used to playing it further back that now I'm being overly aggressive with it. I'll get the hang of it soon enough. Dual CB12 is just plain wicked, but still strangely feels balanced. Light mechs melt of course, but I've been known to miss fast moving strafing mechs even with the aim adjust. High level tanks can survive the System Crash to get away due to the Guardian's lower speed and if the tank has fast reloading weapons like Carbines or Pulse Cannons, they can get their licks in too. Plus, due to the aim assist, the CBs hit centre mass, so I've already encountered players and even AI who will hide their centre and corner shoot.
All in all, this is a true meta build. The dual CB12s work awesomely with the Panther too - probably better, but I've got plans to go Thanos on my second Panther when I'm able to finally clone it.

i keep hearing the term "Thanos Build" What is it? It's RG16 with LA8, the single most powerful combination right now. At the LA8's optimum ranges, you can singe shot kill some mechs. Someone else coined the term and I'm just following suit. Basically, it's like Thanos, you snap your fingers and your target disappears. In my case, I kinda jerk my thumb to the fire button when I line up the dot, so it makes double sense.

Dont want to hijack the thread, but i have heard the RG is difficult to master. I'm thinking, because of my playing style i need a weapon that allows me to ride the trigger for a long time, sending large amounts of ammo downrange. Would Carbine's git the bill? If so, should i wait for CB12's or get the 10's?

The RG is very difficult to use, which is what makes the Thanos build very powerful but still have some balance. If you're goo with LAs, then you will be good with the RG. The RG works really well with the Zephyr as an ambush bot as the full 3-4 shots will take out just about anything not shielded.
If you play like your avatar, then I would go the Carbine route instead. Before you decide which carbine to get, do a quick count and calculation of how many blueprints of each you have now, how much you need to R6 it, and how much A-coins you will need. I lucked out with the CB12 in that I didn't have to buy or pull a single blueprint, and in fact, when I cloned it, I still had 1 blueprint left over. I had to shell out for the A-coins though, so there is that too, plus, I had to rank up my Guardian to make use of it.
CB8 is like the budget carbine to get. You will be instantly productive with it. It deals similar total damage as the PC8, but it dishes it out faster. IMO, if you have a solid tank and were planning on running the CB8 on that, you're better off sticking to PC8 and saving the resources. If, you want to run on the KS, then it's worth switching to CB8 as it means shorter exposure, faster damage, and that puts you in a better position to melee dash kill. When I ran PC8 on the KS, I often misjudged how much damage I'd dealt, melee dashed, and then got killed by my target cause he still had a sliver of HP left.
Between CB10 and CB12, I'd go CB12 just because you can pair with TL6 for a decent tank build. Gotta get your tanks to EN18 though, so factor that in.

That sounds about right. Remember you only VERY RARELY get exotic Prototype blueprints. And I've never gotten more than 1 at a time. i wonder if i wait until i get enough blueprints before i buy if the algorithm that chooses the prints gives them to you a bit faster because you do not need them?

Haha... I wouldn't doubt it one bit. War Robots has spoiled my outlook as far as games, nowadays.

Noting the part of your first post, Koalabear , I thought of your thread when I ran this build. After a couple of Clanmates suggested the TL6 + CB12 again, recently, I've been trying it on a Killy. I approve. Had to make my Guardian roll with the 12 + 10 Combo for now, but it still does its job so I'm OK with it. Back to the Killy... I was continually surprised. First run with a new build I always just go by reflex, and then adjust how I play from there. I am usually pretty aggressive with the Killy, unless running Javs or RMs, that is. Anyway, this build was good right out of the box. I recommend at least a R4 TL 6. Need that OH to hit as early as possible in the cycle of the CB12. You can hit with the TL first, and then start shooting the CB12, of course, but when I run the Killy I don't think too much and just "feel" it out. It's the only mech I can really do that with. And this build handled it without a bit of complaint without me having to really adjust how I played. I very rarely shot the weapons separately and I was against some tough opponents; it was still effective.
Just a thought!

If my KS had EN18...if I hadn't already cloned my CB12...if...if...
Nice work thinking outside the box on this. Does it work better than dual PC8? On paper, it should, and if practice, I think having that OH before you Melee Dash will do wonders.

Wish i could take the credit but the folks in my clan are the maestros performing the symphony of destruction, I am but a simple audience member.
And yeah, the OH for Dash is an aspect that hadn't even sunk in yet till I read your reply... but that explains that much-higher-than-normal-for-a-melee-kill Juggy that I took out today with a dash... along with his almost-full-health MD friend right beside him. I can't be for sure, but it sure felt like I shouldn't have taken them out.
Either way, I am def going to get my TL 6 up to R5... if not R6 pretty soon. I use it on my Panther constantly with the SB16, so even if I get rid of the Killy build, it will still provide benefits.
