I've been trying out LA8/LA10 on my Zephyr and have had some limited success. I find it's good when ambushing lighter mechs, but horrible against tanks. I seem to remember there was some information about the LA damages and the range. Like at optimum range, they do the damage stated in the weapon's stats, but lower than that, they increment down. I'm particularly interested in what the damage is in the 30m range, which is the maximum for the Zephyr's EMP.
I'd thought running this build would be similar to running a single RG16, but the RG16's damage doesn't scale down at closer range.

I think there is actually a bonus once you are beyond a certain range, too... but I don't think I have seen anything definitive.

Hmm...I wish the game had a Test mode where we could test out our builds at different ranges. But, from what I've seen so far with the LAs on the Zep, when I fire at the 30m range, I do nowhere near the 4+k damage that the stats on the weapons show. In fact, I'm only doing about 1.7k - 1.9k per shot, which is even less than MR8 which does about 2.6k per shot. I think the bonus damage is only when you've Overheated your target, which usually happens by the 2nd or 3rd shot. Based on that, I went back to MR8 on my Zep for now. Ideally, I still want to get the CB12 and run it with TL6, but I don't even know if even combined, these two will kill my target before the EMP runs out.

We only really have the ingame stats to go by, which isn't clear:
First, the description:
Here you can see the damage and then the Optimal and Max Ranges:
Notice that the Max range is 180m, but the optimal is upwards of 105+. Does the damage get MORE after 105? Or is the damage decreased from the max damage if under 105?

I believe the damage is decreased under 105m. Paging doctor Redfiend! That has been my experience with LA. Further out the more damage it will inflict. Almost useless at close range so it probably isn't a good fit for Guardian's or Zephyr's

No idea how much it falls off under that, but it definitely falls off. Also got no idea what the affect of overheat is above and below 105m. What I DO know though, is that reds kill me with them from across the map or within spitting distance.

If two players with two devices-accounts got together they could set up a test scenario. One player would be the target and the other the shooter. This would be in the new 2v2 mode of course. I've seen War Robots videos of this kind of weapon/bot test. Though it is easier to do in War Robots.
