A sad goodbye to one of the great pioneers of electronic music. Somehow kraftwerk is still around, and alive. Real beep boop music.

Man oh man, I would have done anything to have seen that Coachella show in 2006.
I was listening to them back when Homework came out in the 90's and then Discovery just secured them as one of my favorite artists of all time.
My favorites are probably a toss up between Veridis Quo and Da Funk.

They are by no means a favorite of mine, but I appreciate the guys themselves as artists.
Homework was good. For the 90s prodigy was more my boat. Unpopular opinion, best Daft Punk song ever made is Derezzed for the tron movie.
I remember being at a rave with deadmaufive and he was 「dookie」ting on Daft Punk and I'm like "so why are you posing them loelloooo"? That guy by the way is an absolute douche.
Anyway... Daft Punk is like... Prince, or David Bowie. Even if I don't like it, they added real artistry to their craft.
And I'll always respect that.

Deadrodent's music has never been very... catchy? Good? IDK. He just seemed non-original all around... not just the idea of never coming out from behind his mask. I didn't get around too much back then, but I did end up at some place in San Bernadino CA where DJ Kyoki was one of the main attractions... I managed to float around the circle he was in at one time and he just seemed to be a party living in a human skin... bout all I remember of him. But that was cool, he was one of the few "headliners" I knew about in the electronic scene and to just randomly end up there with the people I was with, whom I barely knew, was a weird set of events.
Ahhh... the haze of youth... a chemical madness.
Sorry for the randomness... but your story reminded me.
As for Daft Punk... I agree with the main point of your post, highly respect and like certain songs, but was never my 'jam'. Either way, hate to see it end as their mark left on the scene is unquestionably positive.

It was a blast, although I never touched pills, I'm a neurotic control freak you see... It blows my mind d thinking out it... Hell just yesterday I was thinking holy 「fluffernutter」 I've been listening to x band for 20 years?! And I'm not talking about classics like black Sabbath or such but electronic/club/hardcore shut that's from the 2000s. What really annoyed me was when I put on the oldies station and they're playing Celine Dion and rod Stewart.. And I like 「whiskey tango foxtrot」 is this 「dookie」? Where's my Sinatra, Elvis, and Suzie and the Belmonts? Then I realized the 80s I guess is now considered oldies... I guess I'm return apologizing for rambling too!

Metallica and Nirvana will NEVER be Classic rock. They will always be Heavy Metal and Grunge respectively. What's the point of all the different genre of music if you're going to lump them all together? I know "classic" is, in terms of automobiles is 20-40 years old, but I think in terms of music it should refer to the style or a standard; like that's a classic riff. Yeah, I saw an article the other day about affordable classic cars and I was thinking 1950's-'60s cars so you can imagine my excitement...until I read the article describing cars built in the '80s. There were no cars built in the '80s worthy of the title of "classic" in my opinion. At least if they say "muscle car", there's little debate. My high school commute vehicle is now "historic", but it's first and foremost a muscle car. My point is the term "classic" is overused and should only refer to a certain time period which a higher standard was achieved or the forerunners were of a certain style not to be repeated later as seen with cars or music being between the mid '50s to late '60s. A 1985 Cavalier Z24 is NOT, and will NEVER be a "classic". Just aired an hour ago:
