So, I got the update over the weekend and had some thoughts to share.
New 2v2 mode
Only played a few times so far. The first time was with someone on my Friends list and it was fun. The second time, I played alone and my "partner" was an AI RM Guardian would never left his spawn and ran around in circles. I think this mode has potential, but only if you're paired with another human player. It's made for folks who enjoy team play and know how to run their mechs that way. For example, pairing your MD with a Jugg or Brickhouse with a Panther.
New Map, Airship
Man, when they change things up, they change things up! I love this map, and there's only 3 Control Points! This is what War Robots's Carrier should have been. Carrier has a couple of horizontal "tunnels" on the underground level, but you can't really use those to travel. The airship in MA is different, and you CAN use the underground level to travel forward or retreat. Only got a few times, so I'm not sure yet how far you can travel, but I've used it to retreat and I've used it to "skip" around the center CP to get behind the reds. The melee at the center CP is brutal and while you can sit back and lob Javs, there is some cover against them, so Javs are not decisive here. Good place for teamwork as you can get below with a Zephyr, Guardian, Brickhouse or even Redox and really have an impact.
New Mech, Redox
Another Attack mech, similar to Guardian. I haven't seen it in battle yet, but I like how it looks like it's a "floaty" mech. Speed is like the Guardian and it's ability is like Panther's Stasis Field but in (I'm assuming) circular field that slows down reds and also damages them. Looks like another great team play mech and I was sorely tempted to try it out cause it comes maxed at 24EN already. But, I saved myself the $70 and ranked up my Guardian instead, so hopefully someone else can chime in with actual experience.

Cool update, until you notice the A-coin reduction in Tournament play. 🤔

The A-Coin reduction is a joke.
They said we would have another way to earn them via events, we did for a while. Now they nerf the crap out of the tourney. Blahhhhhh. I rarely can win the friggen things anyway now. My last round I had some joker w a 6 star hanger run me down late and there wasn’t a thing I could do about it. Double blahhhhhhh.
Thankfully they didn’t sell power w the new bot , it appears to be in line w the rest of the mechs. They have for time being have decided not take that route. If I catch wind of it I’m done.

I don't kill myself over the Tournament. I think I ended up in Expert last time. I stopped playing it on Saturday where I did the bulk of my grinding and got 1st place with 500 A-coins. I don't try to be the best of the best.

See if the events start producing Acoins more if tourney is nerfed, so far less Acoins in past few events.

Timing is impeccable. I just reinstalled with a greatly reduced interest in playing than before, and once again they drop an update that makes me want to play even less. What they hell is it with these game developers that they think they’ll increase their players’ interest by constantly crapping on them.

Redox sucks, don't get it. Guardian and zephyr waaaaay better I was running a few 2v2 with a guy who has the Redox. His hangar power was over 3k, so I think he probably has most if not all stuff. I asked him about the Redox and he said that it felt like a mish mash of other mechs and the he still thinks the Guardian is better. The animation though, in my opinion, is pretty wicked. I love the 2-legged hovering it does. Is it worth the 8k A-coins? Is it better than the 1M credit Brickhouse? IDK. I think I'll likely get it eventually, when I'm in need of new gear to try out new things. On the flip side, for those who aren't close to doubling their Guardian or who have no interest cause they don't want multiples of the same mech, it's not a bad idea to plan for a Redox. 8k A-coins is not unachievable and you instantly get a R5 Guardian equivalent with 24EN. If they tweaked the speed to be at least 5 km/h or even 5.5 km//h, it'd be pretty fun to run.

A quick update on the 2v2 mode. I ran several last night with a human player and it actually was a lot of fun. There was one match where I'm pretty sure there was at least another human player on the red side and it ended up being pretty challenging. There seems to be 2 maps available. One of them has a center elevated platform, and if you can make it there with your partner, you get a great view of the map and the battle becomes a king of the hill type of brawl.
As for the nerfed rewards in TDM and events...sigh, oh well. They've nerfed rewards before so hopefully this won't be a trend. Plus, when the events first came out, I'm sure lots of folks complained about how unachievable some of the tasks were and they quickly lowered those. I'm sure they're still tweaking things.

I'm a positive outlook guy by nature... until I am proven wrong. I wanna talk about that last part, a little. War Robots/Pixo, proved me wrong. MA, so far, does seem to be doing what they say... trying different things that balance game progress and profit, 'before global release'. These changes take time to collect results from. It isn't a daily, or even weekly, concept. It can take a month or more for things to settle and for enough data to be collected to be worth using. I don't know what their timeline is for the Global Release roadmap, and won't venture a guess... but I assume that getting the economy straight is one of the last, but most important, aspects. We feel the sting the most, due to playing before it was changed. Some, like scape211 and Redfiend, and others, have been playing even longer and have seen even more fluctuations, in more areas than just the economy. I am NOT defending them... but I am providing, for myself, at least, the space needed to allow for them actually doing what they say they are and trying to find what works without killing the game. Things I keep in mind: *They HAVE to turn a profit. *They cannot make a case against making ACoins hard to get without being able to show data that it would hurt their bottom line to those in charge of those things. Pre-Release is the best time to do this. Plus, they hint at rolling out new ways to get them. It takes time before that can be implemented. *Referencing the above point: They gave us back the Prodigy Crate with the 5 $ deal.... which showed me that they DO at least hear us when we become all squeaky, and are capable of correcting things that were done wrong. * "BuT tHeY MaKe NeW mApS aNd MeChS! ThEy ObViOuSlY aRe OnLy In It FoR tHe MoNeY!" Except that the new bot is downright balanced. High attack with low maneuverability and HP,... some would say it is downright squishy. I have seen video of it played well and, just like a Jug, it can still shine well past the point at which better gear is on the field with it. Also, this is a bot that a design team had been working on for a while... most assuredly longer than any proposed changes, maybe even before the Dash Bug. Same with the new QM map and modes... which are ALL THINGS FOLK HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR. They released it when it was ready. *Bug fixing and economy changes probably have nothing to do with the team that designs and incorporates the new features. Many software companies have a separation of work concept for their Dev teams. I know ours does. I cannot speak for them, but I can draw upon my experiences. (Forgive the interruption if you have made it this far... but let me be clear here... What we all do with our time is up to us... if anyone doesn't want to wait for this Dev team to get their 「dookie」 straight, I totally get it and am not telling you that you are wrong for doing so, nor do I blame you for feeling that way. If it isn't fun, then don't shoot the gun.) I am just saying that I don't think that MA are trying to out-Pixo Pixo. *They, for the most part, have done all that they said they would do, when they could. They have admitted when they had to push something back, like Global Release and Clans. *They invite feedback. *I am holding on to the Oh 「dookie」 handle a little longer, before trying to jump out the car window. The gameplay has been great for me lately (when I have had time to play), so I can't say that they are doing a bad job. I have just managed to get my 2nd Killy, and have a recently acquired CB 12, now... And I don't have to spend very much, at all, to do that, even if I am not able to grind like other folk. Just a my thoughts based upon what little I know about the industry... I could totally be wrong and they have actually hired consultants to cut costs and raise profits... or something... but it doesn't FEEL like that is the case. I am going to be patient with the economy. They still have a chance to get it right.

If anything, making the Redox balanced might well be shooting themselves in the foot cause the only people who would spend money on it right off the bat are those who already have everything, or had 8k A-coins saved up. At least they didn't release a mech that completely outmatched anything currently existing with an impenetrable purple shield that absorbed damage and sent it back.
I actually kinda like the concept of the Redox, but if I were to get it, I'd run it with dual CB12. Definitely something to work towards I think.

“The gameplay has been great for me lately...” has got to be the single most important factor in the game before anything else. For me, for the last month before I deleted it, gameplay was horrible. I have no idea how or why, but at some point it was like somebody flipped the screw-Danny switch and gameplay went down the crapper. Well, let me qualify that - solo gameplay went down the crapper, which was about 90% of my playing time.
Since I reinstalled a few days ago, that hasn’t changed. Everything that pissed me off before is still there. So I don’t play solo any more. And that severely limits my ability to chase challenges and events, so I have to put any thoughts of advancement completely out of my mind now and just make do with what I’ve got, which takes out what’s supposed to be half the fun of the game. But between nerfing rewards and coming up against more and more players who have obviously dumped a crap-ton of money into this game, advancement has become frustratingly slow anyway. So now I just play whenever I can find somebody to team with, or I don’t play. I’m not so sure this is what the game designers/devs/who-the-hell-ever has in mind for attracting and keeping players, but that’s where they’re at. I’ve tried to stay positive, but there have been a few too many more de-incentives than incentives, and I just have a hard time putting that out of my mind when I start up the app.

Them tightening up their purse strings in pertaining to A-coins is a major bummer. I am liking 2v2, but i catch myself playing mostly CPC...partly because im a Beacon Rush player at heart, and im loving the new Starship 11 map. It can be brutal but man i love the fast pace.

I do like that they have different modes. When I'm trying to get a team game going and only get one person accept my invite, I just switch to 2v2. I wonder, if we get 4 players and switch to 2v2, does the game pit us against each other or just not let us play?

I'm inclined to wait too. My play time has dropped for other reasons, but less rewards for play hasn't enticed me to push my play back up. Thanks ⓣⓡⓘⓒⓚⓨ48 for letting me know the prodigy crate has returned to the $5 deals. I may start picking those up again. They really need to distinguish those crates from each other better. I couldn't tell from the picture and I obviously don't read things. lol. The game is still very fun, I'm just doing other RL things more now. As for the Redox, I think the comments from those that have played it means that it could use a slight buff. Just slight. My thought would be to make it just 0.5 kph faster. The Guardian has the better ability and much more HP, but is still slow. The Redox should be just a bit faster to better take advantage of it's own ability. Just a thought, but I think that would make it a more balanced bot worth a purchase without making it OP.

I think they need to make the Redox way more powerful and not just a slight buff. I think Panther speed with Guardian HP. The ability seems pretty weak too, so maybe a damage buff to the blast would work. Right now, the way that it is, I have zero interest in getting it. I'm just working my way to a CB12 with the eventual goal of cloning my Panther or Guardian to be able to do the dual CB12 build (Preference towards the Panther of course)

I will admit to knowing nothing about the ability other than what is written in the description. If it causes the same stasis affect as the panther, but in a radius, that could be pretty powerful depending on the time length and mechanism. For instance, if the field causes the effect for as long as it's in the radius, but not any longer, then that's not all that powerful. However, if it has a lingering effect after the ability has passed, that would help a lot. Also, additional speed mixed with this ability has the potential for impressive strength because you can work around people's sides and rear for far more impact. That was why I stated a speed bump would be best. I don't mind glass cannons. The Panther is a bit of one too. Both the Panther and the Redox would be very vulnerable to the KS. It's good for bots to be powerful, but to have natural enemies that they struggle against. Rock, paper, scissors.

I've only seen the ability in game a couple of times. It's a one off, in terms of the damage it causes, and anything in the blast radius has the stasis effect. It's powerful, but really only if you catch your targets from behind because unlike the Panther's ability, you have no protection from fire. If you catch your target from behind, the stasis effect also prevents them from turning their torso around fast enough to hit you. That's why I think an increase in HP is needed too. Both the Guardian and Panther's ability prevents or shields the you from return fire. Without that same ability, the Redox just isn't nearly as good as them. Maybe if they added a damage reduction to the stasis effect or maybe a damage buff like the ones you get with TL and LA so that even if you do get return fire, you do more damage to your target.
