You will learn to hate this mech and then learn to recognize it's profile even though, from far away, it can somewhat resemble the Lancer. Best counter I have for the Zephyr is either another Zephyr, the Guardian or the Shadow. Just a note, my RG16 Zephyr absolutely hates Guardians and Shadows. The Guardian can put me in cooldown and the Railgun takes horrendously long to reload. If I'm at full capacity when I get hit by the Guardian's ability, that's 3 full shots out the window and 30s for a full reload. As for the Shadow, they can be a PITA cause it's hard to hit them and a single miss is a ton of lost potential damage. Keep an eye out for both the Guardian's and the Zephyr's special ability. Don't go charging around corners. The Guardian's ability looks like a curved wall and the Zephyr's EMP is like a circular blast. Both are red cause well, its on the red team. Blue colours means it's from your own team. Once you see these, make mental note of their positions and try to prioritize their destruction from a distance. You can even mark them with the ingame comm feature in the hopes that there's a human player on your team paying attention.

Also... Guardian's ability is forward facing... and has a pretty long cooldown.
That wonderful new Zep's ability that you have just been introduced to is 360 freaking degrees. It can hide and not be in sight (which means it won't be on the minimap) and hit everything within a 30m radius, through walls, with immobilization. It's cooldown is very short... too. Like 7 seconds I think?
It's so far down the XP path too... if you play casually it's going to take a while to get one of your own. If you grind a lot... prolly not so bad.

Ahh yes, the Zephyr. My policy quickly became, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!"

Most of the time, when i play up with higher ranked players is when i encounter this Zephyr.
