I’m done. Everybody unfriended, game deleted, associated FB account even deactivated. Nice playing with the few of you I actually got to team with. Everything I dislike about this game just keeps getting worse and worse, to the point that all I do now is cuss and swear at it every time I play it, and now I’ve finally had enough. Games are supposed to be enjoyable, and for me this one has gradually become anything but. I don’t know what I’m gonna waste my time on now, but I’ll be lurking the other games section for ideas. Rest assured it will not be War Robots. Because I still H8Pigsonic. And now IH8Plarium, too.

What happened with Plarium ? I thought they are decent when it comes to game balance and prices from what people were writing so far.

What happened with Plarium ? I thought they are decent when it comes to game balance and prices from what people were writing so far. Prices are cheap only in the beginning. Once you’ve bitten on a couple of cheap offers, the prices go up. Way up. As for balance, that’s about the only thing they’ve gotten right - nothing is really absurdly OP. But they still charge ridiculous resources (or $$$j for the more ‘exotic’ mechs and weapons, even though they don’t give you much of an advantage other than saving you the time of having to upgrade them, since much of the higher end stuff comes pretty well leveled. My biggest issue is matchmaking and the AI bots that fill out the teams when you don’t have friends to squad with. For the past month this game has been more frustrating than enjoyable. I’ve gone from 15-20 kills in tournament games to maybe 5 if I’m lucky. I get all AI teammates that either take all the top spots (and still manage to lose) or run around in circles doing nothing. Meanwhile, reds are picking me off from across the map, nailing me through the tiniest openings in mid-jump. I am CONSTANTLY outgunned, going from mostly wins and top of the team to mostly losses and middle to bottom of the team. On top of that, they’ve severely nerfed a-coin and XP payouts, which, combined with ridiculously lopsided tournament matchups, make it impossible to farm resources needed to rank up my gear. And when I DO finally rank something up, they ratchet up the AI enemies again. The manipulative behavior of the game has become increasingly obvious, to the point that it’s no longer enjoyable to me and just not worth my time any more. And it’s not even out of beta yet. FFS, this is the time they should be making the game MORE appealing to play, not less. A few people here saw this months ago. I figured I’d stick it out and give it a chance, but it’s only gotten worse. And so now I’ve had enough. |

Yeah the cost appears to be a sliding scale, that progressively gets more expensive....then boom it is out of control. It's finding another game to replace Arena that holds me back from spending less time on it or replacing it,I just can't find a game to enjoy at the moment,and I have tried a few that have been recommended but nothing has gripped my interest yet.
My issue added to the above points is I just find Arena a grind with no obvious goal.Its the same weapons on the same mechs week in week out,the items I don't own are several thousand A coins away from what I have.And yes I have dropped some cash into the game,but this is the first game I have played where dropping some money does nothing to get you to a goal,if I buy the 1100 A coin offer I'm still 6000 A coins away from what I want.
And no I don't have the time or patience to play hours and hours of tournament,besides in my time zone it finishes at 0530 and there is no way I'm getting up at 0430 to play a game.
If you find a good game let me know,until then I will keep slowly grinding towards another weapon level upgrade woohoo.

Yeah there is no doubt that almost all of these games put too much emphasis on the grind and then jack prices way up for 「dookie」... intentionally, of course. I have dropped a few dollars on this game and it's gotten me to a pretty comfortable spot in regards to my in game goals... but I don't have any desire to drop $50 - $100 + on the Carb 12, Brickhouse, or Railgun... nor in buying 10k ACoins to get maxed on one or two items I already have. I will drop about 10$ in the game every 2 weeks or so... on whatever I decide to... but that's it. I barely play compared to most folk, so I don't sweat it too much... I'd say those small purchases are close to making up for the lack of 1st place tournagrind finishes.
I really don't know of any good, reasonably grindy, 5v5s like this or War Robots. CoD Mobile is actually pretty good for not having to spend and still getting access to a lot of stuff... but I really can't get into that like I can these games.
So far though, I like this game a lot... possibly due to my lack of grinding for hours on end... and haven't come close to quitting. We will see what happens... though. The Devs have a few real choices to make... including when to release Clans and to start making CpC more rewarding to help folk STAY and get the things that they want to use without spending.
The dilemma is there for them since the game is still pretty young... profitability or playability. A tightrope that most games don't do very well. I hope they can figure it out... though.

Or you could do like me; Play 4-5 games of War Robots, or until you have "that" bad game. And then play MA. Then you'll go "ok, it's not that bad."

To all the folks I’d had the pleasure of squadding with over the last few months, it was indeed a good bit of fun, certainly more fun than going solo. Unfortunately it was rarer than not that I’d find anybody available to team with. I gotta say, the longer I’m away, the less I miss the game. It’s almost liberating not being a slave to the grind or the frequent logins to grab those periodic freebies. I don’t miss any of that at all, but I do miss some of those marathon squad sessions, especially those with Mr & Mrs BAMtATeRToTz, two of the funnest teammates I think I got to play with. Tell superchels I said hello. |

Unfortunately it was rarer than not that I’d find anybody available to team with. I gotta say, the longer I’m away, the less I miss the game. It’s almost liberating not being a slave to the grind or the frequent logins to grab those periodic freebies.
