I'm sure I'm not the first to learn of it (especially since I learned it from a fellow named Chris on a LINE chat I'm in), but there is a way to store unused standard tournament tickets for later beyond the 12 you get each day.
The extra trick I'm using is to save my task-based chest after I earn it. This is the gold chest with 3 tickets in it you win after you finish all of your tasks. If you don't claim the earned chest when your tasks reset, it will be saved for you in your "inbox" where messages are displayed. I don't know the max of these that can be stored or how long they last, but I have no reason to suspect they ever go away. The only potential limit for storing these would be that there is a maximum of 100 messages you can store. I did this last week and confirmed that it works. I'm going to be storing my chest today even to see if I can get tickets from a Monday chest! I'll report back when I find out.
This is potentially huge since you can bank these every day if you want. Last week, I only used 9 tickets in the novice bracket, so I banked those 3 extra tickets for 2 days later when I needed them in the Expert bracket. If you think about it, you'll see that there is some real resource saving potential behind this if exploited.

Interesting.. I tried this (on accident) and it didn't hold the tickets.. will try again. Maybe I opened on a Monday when it didn't matter...

I won't be able to test until later in the week. I don't start tourney until tomorrow and it's usually Friday before I need more than 12 tickets.

Been doing that for many weeks even before the latest system showing the chest in a message. The new system may allow multiple chests to be collected but the Monday chest is the most important to save. Get 15 red tickets this way.
