I quit War Robots a few months back (Drones! Chips! Arghhh!) and have been playing a lot of Shadowgun Legends.
I just finished an event there. After two days of half heated grinding I had collected enough items in the arena mode to get my little space mercenary an entire suit of cool looking armor. Plus a new weapon!
The last War Robots event I did featured 36 DAYS of grinding and my "reward" was a few chances to open random boxes, none of which had anything I wanted.
I don't know which method is more common in gaming but I greatly prefer the one where I use my battle rewards to get gear I actually want rather than a random stuff.
