Please post your favorite mechs here! I want some ideas and im sure others are curious so please!
Make sure to put a little description of why it works and how it plays so us who aren't completely familiar with the game can understand!

At 100K XP so far my favorite mechs are the killshot, panther and Jugg.
The killshot is fast and agile enough to take beacons, pop in and out of cover, and dash attack for the finish. I pair Jav 6 with mine
The panther has top rated firepower, and a stasis shield that is impenetrable while deployed, and can slow bots to a crawl as you take your time chipping away their health. My setup runs Longarms 8
The Jugg is a one man army, with regenerating shield and tons of health, throw some Pulse Cannon 8 on it and you are a walking lawn mower, taking breaks to recharge your shield.
Honorable mentions: Still learning the Zephyr which seems quite strong, but not sure if its short lived success that will run out as opponents power increases, fun bot though. Guardian is tricky to play but has top rated firepower as well. Both of these are great with Missile Rack 8s

Pursuer/Stalker Run in, punch them in the back of the head, run out. You know, I am something of a lancer lover myself. The jump lets me move around a lot and get around the walls that the panthers setup, not to mention kill opponents aim by simply jumping over their heads. I recently got it some shotties and DAMN does it HURT. Sure it is squishy but with the sprint and jump I can basically join in fights against distracted enemies to pick them off and then dip out whenever they turn on me. Best part is nobody expects much out of the mech. They see it and then either ignore it or try to just gun me down for the "easy" kill. Then I get into their grill and put some shots where the sun don't shine and suddenly they start to realise... "oh 「dookie」 this guy can do some damage!" IDK if I will upgrade to shadow, I like the jump that much. I will have to see how my lancer fairs later on, but I think I will keep it... hmmm

KS MR - I love that mech and that style. It's aggressive and fun... which is not how I usually play. I'm usually defensive and counter minded... but if I can get in a groove with this build, I rack up the kills and it's a blast. Guardian MR + SB - It's sort of a jack of all trades... can debilitate other's abilities like shields and fences, freeze them and feed them decent sustained damage, and do effective burst damage. It works for Med Range battles, as well as CQB.

And there's nothing saying you can't run both... Just sayin'. A maxed Lancer is tough and can hang just fine in the right hands... no doubt. But... Shadow is a totally different story for other reasons altogether.

The AI eventually reaches the point where they're all aim bots that will specifically target human players, while having a fair bit of upgrade advantage over you. Lancers end up being more serviceable as a Javelin wielding mech, as the indirect fire works loads better from the hard to reach spaces only Lancer can get to. Lancer is the chunkiest light mech later on though, so it's still solid overall when upgraded appropriately and used properly. Shadow is more for being an incredible nuisance to the enemy. Mine sees the most action in hunting the players in tournament(TDM) that will camp behind their allies while murdering the friendly dead weight AI.

I have noticed that they are bots and have started into the TDM a lot. Still my build works exactly the same... if not then even better. Most players don't seem to understand that a lancer is fast and can manuver well. And that goes for the ones that fight me and the others that I see using them. Honestly half the time I just jump around and get somewhere I can hit their backs and then dump a load into them. I can see shadow being much better against players as well, and I do plan to level it when I get it, still though I may not use it... not because of how good it is but because of how fun lancer is. Also good to hear that it doesn't stay squishy!

I probably won't run both as I have 4 other mechs lined up already that I want to level, if one of those ends up being not as fun or lancer falls off too much for me then I will use shadow for sure, but until then I will simply bring it up a couple levels and test it out.

Favorite mech? Really tough call. Most effective is Killshot with javs, followed closely by Juggy with MR8’s. I’ve tried different setups on both and always come back to those. Most fun mech is Lancer with RPG’s. But yesterday I caved and jumped in the two Stasis Beam offers, snd that’s opened a whole new range of options. SB12 + carbine 8 on Panther looks promising, though I haven’t had much time with it yet. SB16 on the Guardian is just killer. While I’ve got my favorites, none of them are far and away above any others - they all have their advantages in their own ways.

I like the Shadow and the Killshot. Surprisingly, I don't like the Zephyr as much as I thought I would after pining after it for so long. It's just not as fun I guess.

Don’t write off the Zephyr just yet ... one just brutalized me multiple times in a tournament game. That EMP recharges a lot faster than I expected; just about the time my RM’s reloaded, the SOB froze me again. I definitely need to rethink my favorite position on that map now, because it’s too easy for those things to come up on my blind side. Anything else I’ve got time enough to turn around and blast them before they do too much damage, but you can’t turn around when you can’t turn around.

It's just not as fun to run as the Shadow or the Killshot. After killing dozens of immobilized mechs, the fun kinda goes away. It's still mandatory to run in CPC games though.

I played a player named BAM_Venon about an hour ago and he's really freaking good. I froze him about a dozen times in that match with my Zephyr. Finally, in the 3rd game, he managed to do it to me. The Zephyr is super nasty on this towers map today, especially with the dual heights. Just be sure to plan your exit because you probably just pissed off more mechs than you could kill. lol, at least that's what I've found.

I've run both MR8s and the Carb8s and I'm starting to prefer the Carb8s. The extra range (and accuracy), the speed of the bullets and lower reload time is getting me more kills than the MR8s.

I want a Zep. Damnit. Tourney matches where I am against a single Red non-AI that have similar power to me almost always have one... and man they are brutally effective. I get what Koalabear is saying about it seeming a bit cheesy... but from what I am seeing it's almost a given that players keeping up with the META will have one. I can see plenty of times that it would be useful... that cooldown is insanely fast for what it does. I still want to try to squad with a Zep player while in my Guardian... I can slow the Reds down with my SB, strip their shields/fences away while forcing their weapons to reload, and then the Zep player can freeze them... pretty much a guaranteed kill at that point with me unloading the single MR8 and the Zep player letting loose with whatever they are carrying.

It's a brutal combination and it's a guaranteed kill for anyone that gets affected as long as there's ammo available, especially if you can surround the group so people can attack from multiple angles. Throw in a Panther and the other team is toast.

My favorite mech so far is Killshot. Usually I put jav6 on him. He is fast, maneuvers like a sports car and hits hard with weapons then with the dash-kill ability. Such a fun bot and I get so many kills when I use it. On the other hand I drop Panther first in tournaments, with MR 8s. Drop that shield and blast away. I get at least one kill almost every time I shoot, often more than one. Honorable mention to Shadow with Jav 4s. He is very speedy and maneuverable, perfect for getting to positions to fire around a corner. Stealth helps him get around and for surprise attacks.

l》THE MACHINE《l, I like the Lancer too. Shadow appears to be fun but I have yet to unlock it. Do know that for whatever mech or weapon you unlock, you will then get daily challenges to complete using them. I never upgraded my autocannons very far and I hate getting those challenges. Also keep in mind that the rank up costs are different depending on the mech's weight class. You can filter the mech list from acquired to light, medium, or heavy to see which mech is which. The weird thing in Mech Arena is that the A-Coin cost to Rank up a mech is the opposite than what would be intuitive; the light mechs cost the most and the heavies the least! To take a light mech from Rank 3 to 4 costs 2,500 A-Coins. For a heavy, it is only 1,250. So it can get expensive to run an all light mech hanger of Lancer, M.D., Shadow, and Cheetah. I just ranked up a bunch of mechs and weapons today. This may affect what I like but Killshot is an easy bot to recommend. At rank 3, it can handle 2 Javelin Rack 6 weapons which will do you well in Tournament (the place where you will earn the bulk of your currencies for upgrades and purchases). Panther can just run about any kind of weapon loadout and is reasonable in speed. Since you only need 3 mechs to do tournament, I recommend the Killshot and Panther along with some sort of tank (Juggernaut or Ares) but if you are liking your Lancer then keep it going. Like you have seen, most humans think the enemy Lancers are run by Ai. You can help foster that belief by keeping the stock paint job on the Lancer and avoid unnecessary jumping as the Ai does not seem to use the ability.

I think ares, lancer, guardian and a couple others are the line up I want. Mainly these choices due to how much I like the mechs playstyle... and since I am a player of fun and skill based builds I am focusing on them. Any suggestions for their weapons and a tank? Juggs is good but I would prefer something better TDH.

I finally moved my Jav6s off my KS the other day because I've found that the R5 Shadow absolutely dominates CPC games with the Jav6. You gotta have a decent team of course, but if you do, you can roam around the map the entire game in the Shadow alone. This one game, I capped like 4 control points and killed 7 mechs. I haven't had those kinds of numbers in a CPC game in like forever. These days, I'm lucky to even get on the podium!
