I didn't know this was even happening... Sprint? Should be interesting... to say the least!
Brickhouse ability might be good, too...
I like the assists rewards, too.
Overall, other than the Android update issue, seems like a positive update.

Anyone have a chance to test out the Brickhouse ability yet? It sounds quite interesting.
I tested out the sprint feature in the controls customization preview area and it took a bit of getting used to – but I think it will be really useful and interesting in-game.

No to Brickhouse... don't have it yet... far from it on the XP path and I ain't droppin' a c-note for it.
RE: Sprint - I tried it after reading your post... and I didn't really see it making much difference... not that much of a boost and didn't last long... but I'll take it.

The sprint might help when dodging enemy fire. Haven't tried it yet. Anything that makes my tanks faster is welcome.

reconnectingNope. Like sprinting in shooters, it's only forward momentum. It'll reduce the chances of getting popped in the sides from across the map, but that's about it. It reduces the time needed to get to engagement distance, but works in a way where it doesn't really change the engagements themselves.

Sometimes while playing the Killshot, if I encounter a leave or die situation I turn 180 degrees and hit the dash ability. Gets me more time to play with KS. I can do the same with the sprint now too, amiright? Or I could point my bot in any desired direction and boot scoot.

Exactly what I found in the few games I’ve played since the update. It helps shorten the time it takes to get from here to there, but otherwise doesn’t upset any game balance, particularly because they gave it to all mechs. Sometimes while playing the Killshot, if I encounter a leave or die situation I turn 180 degrees and hit the dash ability. Gets me more time to play with KS. It’s a pretty short and subtle speed boost.

When the dash animation is over, you'll have a speed boost to say, keep going in that direction, or turn and move into better cover, but it doesn't stack on dash. The speed bump seems to be in line with Paragon's ability, but sprint only works on full forward, and stacks with duration abilities like Paragon's boost and Shadow's speed increase in stealth. If you turn tail and try to get away with just sprint, you're probably going to die from getting shot in the arse.

I like that all the mechs got the Sprint ability...I don't like the execution much. I already play with my thumb mashed upwards, so for me, it's hard to control when I want the Sprint or not. I've found that the Guardian takes about 7 faster steps, which is nice, oh and the Sprint only works in the forward direction.

It's about 3 seconds of 50% speed increase with a 9 second cooldown. Firing also cancels sprint.

That's cool, that means that the Paragon is still the only mech that can "sprint/rush" and fire at the same time. BTW, I like the Brickhouse ability too. I like that it's unique and fits in with the mech too.

I do it too when I get surrounded or surprised. It's a KS specific tactic though...

I do it too when I get surrounded or surprised. It's a KS specific tactic though... I wish Killshot’s dash was in the direction it’s moving rather than the direction it’s facing. I’ve kind of gotten over it now, but for the longest time I’d be moving sideways and hit the button and dash in the entirely wrong direction.
