So, I won the skin first, and then the Zephyr came up for sale...I probably could have afforded it in about 3 weeks, but dayum, I'd been longing for this one for so long, I couldn't resist! I'm now running all light mechs except for Jugg... yeah, I'll change it up again eventually but for now, I'm digging the glass cannons! I'm tempted to throw resources into the Lancer and have a full light mech hangar.

Nice! That is def on my to-do list... I think I would do better with the Zep than the Guardian... it's just more my style. I know they fill 2 different roles, but since the abilities are similar I compare the two more.
I'm looking forward to your feedback on how you like it!

Actually, I'm finding that the Zephyr fills pretty much the same role as the Guardian, but the speed and faster ability cool down makes for a more effective ambusher. I can't wait to put more meat on it though. I even splurged for the upgrade pack - something I don't normally do - and it only brought it up 3 levels...sheesh, this is gonna be a work in progress for sure! The ability is similar to System Crash, but has minor usage differences. It doesn't bring down shields and doesn't force mechs into cool down and doesn't cancel out Panther's Stasis Field. I don't know if it'll stop a KS mid dash or not. I think it does cause I think I've had it done to me but not positive. Maybe Redfiend can shed some light. Where the EMP is better than the System Crash is against light fast mechs - hence the MR8 instead of something with better overall sustained damage. I've killed two light mechs with one EMP blast and then alternating fire on the MR8s. I did eventually spring for the MR6 as well... it feels different than the MR8...like it fires slower and seemingly faster projectile speed, but that's probably just my imagination. What I do like better on the MR6 over the RPG6 is the larger damage per projectile and the fact that once I press fire, I just focus on keeping my target crosshair on the red bracket. When paired with Jav 6 on my KS and Panther, I typically only use it when the ranges get 30m and under, so the RPG6s faster projectile speed isn't a factor. When my Shadow goes up a rank (when I save up 2500 A-coins), I'll likely try the MR6 paired with a RPG4 just for the halibut.

I can confirm from multiple thwarted attempts that the Zephyr EMP blast definitely stops KS rushes. I'm days away from getting mine the old fashion way and I can't wait. I'll probably do MR8s first, but ultimately it will have Carbines on it. Might do a SB/TL combo in the interim too. We shall see.

KoalabearGuardian and Zephyr do the same thing against different mechs. You're pretty much on point. Zephyr shuts down lighter mechs that just refuse to stay still so you can kill them. Guardian is for killing heavier mechs. Shielded mechs/High health mechs have the highest chance of surviving being frozen, and murdering the Zephyr in return. Faster mechs can get away from the Guardian to reposition or flank it.
