I got my hands on some Adriatic Bluefin Tuna, so I decided to fire up my good ol grill. Before we get started with anything here, I can't stress out enough that tuna steaks have to be handled with extreme care, just like it says on it's side declaration
First step is to get your steaks to room temperature, I'm making 500 grams of it, which should be, and was, more than enough for my lovely wife and me, because it's so 「fluffernutter」ing expensive
We're also grilling side dish veggies and bruschettaish bread, that we need to marinate. To make a marinade, we'll use sliced onions, crushed garlic, fresh parsley, dry rosemary, olive oil, salt, pepper and squeeze half of a lemon of juice into it
Mix it all in a bowl and squeeze the 「dookie」 out of it with your hands or with your truck tires. You'll need every drop of those veggie juices. Remove all chunks out, and use more seasoning if necessary, it has to be a little more seasoned than you would normally eat, because you'll marinade stuff in it, and marinade will drop from your food, and you don't want to eat underseasoned food.
Dip your veggies, sliced into a grill friendly way, into your marinade and continue to next step
Now we'll make a rub for our steaks, I like using freshly ground salt and pepper, cayenne pepper and dry oregano. Use it in 2:1:1:1 ratio, mix it together and gently rub it on all sides of your steaks, don't leave the rub on your steaks for more than an hour so salt wouldn't dry out your juicy tuna
Make an insane glow, this is important, because you want your tuna to get caramelized surface, but you want it rare inside. Ask Japan persons, they eat it raw! It has to be cooked for 3 minutes. I cooked it 4 minutes and overcooked it, 「fluffernutter」 me 「slow」... this is how much coal I used
Oil up your grill, heat it up and put your stuff on
Trust me, turn it all around after exactly 1 minute and 30 seconds
After another 1:30 minutes, the it off and drip some olive oil on your steaks, soak one side of your slices of bread into veggies marinade and put it on a grill for 30 seconds. Serve it and enjoy!
I did overcook it a bit for my taste, but it was still so lovely and tasty, my beautiful wife got all wet, and I'm going to do it again and again and again until the end of my days!
Warning! Grilling is dangerous, it is open fire, so you have to be extremely cautious not to dehydrate yourself! I recommend red wine from coastal regions for this occasion.
