Ultimately, it's great that we have options based on what we like which is super cool. Still, I tried the vertical with the Javs and I couldn't bend them like I needed to. I frequently bend the missiles around corners at crazy angles that wouldn't be possible if I didn't keep a lock. I rotate my torso to the maximum before I lose lock-on. No one is safe. Mwahahahah! That is very true. When I first started using the Javs, I was able to do awesome curves. But, I'm getting better with them now - but still frequently lose lock when I try boomerang shots.

Changed my mind again. Took the shotties off Lancer. Seems the best I could do with them was about a 1-for-1 trade off (I maybe kill one of theirs, then one of theirs kills me), which is not an acceptable ratio. I never, ever got more than one kill with that setup. Of course, let’s not talk about this morning where I barely got any kills with anything, as that’s one for the rants thread. If I ever get a Shadow, that’s probably where they’ll go, but right now that’s very, very low on the shopping list.
Anyway, I’m even rethinking the whole Lancer project. As fun as it is, it’s almost worthless in the increasing number of games where the blues are universally outmatched by reds (every red hangar is stronger than every blue hangar). There’s no weapon combination of EN8 that will make much of a dent in overpowered reds. Hell, even my R4 jav6’s take three volleys or more to kill most of them these days. Question now is what to replace it with that will make up for the lost capping speed.

Yeah I don't expect my excursion into the CP games to go nearly as well... I face pretty hefty competition even if I am only in Div 4... maybe due to my Tourney win rate or hangar power or something... I don't know since I haven't been paying attention to CP games with Tourney being all I have time for.
Anyway, I am definitely not convinced yet. I can say that I think they are better than they were and have been removed from the useless pile... for now.
Very curious if a maxed set on a maxed Lancer or Shadow would fare well up in the end game levels... the extra range from Ranking them up may make up for their weaknesses in some cases.
In regards to being RM food... I think if you continually move when not Stealthed, and never stay in the vicinity of where you started the Stealth timer, it might mitigate the danger posed by them... IDK though... haven't tested.
I will max the shotguns and my Shadow and let you know. I don’t regard it as a distraction from a dream hangar, because I see these as part of my dream hangar. I’ve watched video on shotgun shadow and now i have played it a bunch and it really fits how i have wanted to play Shadow. I will be playing this game for a long time so I’m not in a rush to get the carbine/rg. They’ll appear at some point. In the meantime I can help here by giving a performance report on this particular content, mkayy I had a bot wrecked within seconds of match start by a higher level player whos shotgun shadow ran all the way from spawn, he was defenseless after because his ability wore off but the shotguns were nice. Anyone rank them up yet and can report on the accuracy improvement. 30% increase sounds deadly

mechtout well that was a silly way to use Shadow eh! My S4 are now R4L3. Pretty nasty when done right.

I am interested but I'm going to have to back burner trying these out. The big issue for me is that they don't make a Shotgun 6. If they did then you could combo up for 8/10/12 EN mech levels. Also maybe give them a go on Killshot in the close-in Tourney maps. Seems like theoretically they could work well if you weren't downgrading to 4. At some point I'll throw them in the mix but for now I'll avoid the associated challenge tasks.

S1E1 they have a similar damage profile to MR6 and RPG6. The biggest plus they have is that they don't miss nimble targets like rockets tend to. Shadow is pretty much the only mech that can/wants to use them because other light bots will get toasted and medium bots are better served with mid range weapons/8 en weapons.
