Got a question for the community:
Missile Racks really appeal to me and I’ve got a 2300+ A-coins that I’ve considered using on a set of 6s.
BUT, I could get a set of Jav4s and Jav6s and I’m sure I’d enjoy those.
I’ve read somewhere that MR6s maxed only have 2000 more damage than RPG6s, so I starting wondering if MR6s would really be worth the resource investment.
Thanks everyone.

I don't know about MR6s. Personally I plan to start with MR8s myself. I think that is probably worth saving just a bit more for but I'd be curious what people who play both 6s and 8s think.
Javs however are definitely worth getting. Personally I'd get them before Missile Racks (and I did) but you should get what you want to play most. When you do get them, get 6s before 4s but both are worth it and they're fantastic on faster bots. Once you get them you'll always have them in the mix. They're really fun to play too!

MR6s can do a decent job on a Killshot. Some maps I prefer them to Javs. Some maps have a ton of overhead cover but long site lines, for example.
I'd get Javs first, but definitely recommend a set of MR6 too.

I use the MR8 on my Ares all the time - really good but you always need to be planning your retreat/shield use whilst reloading. MR6 I use less often. Fits KS nicely, but I see many more KS with Javs (and a few with PC, but that's another story).
I would get the MR8s instead, and grab the Jav6 for now (not sure about 4s, unless you have a Lancer as a main?)

At 3.7, my RPG6 does 9611 per magazine and 1373 per shot. A 4.1 MR6 does 10,405 per magazine and 2081 per shot. So, in terms of straight up damage, not that much difference. In terms of upgradeability, in almost 3 months of playing, I've gotten tons of blueprints for the RPG6 and only 71 of the MR6. Then, there's the in play usage. I don't have the MR6, but I use the MR8 at lot, and in my opinion, I only need one weapon that does the whole alpha strike thing in my hangar (well technically 2 cause the Javs do alpha strike too), so, I don't need or want the MR6.
MR series pros - alpha strike does incredible DPS, and alternating firing will maximize your damage potential. The sound FX is also amazing. Splash is pretty big and gets bigger as you rank up. I've gotten the multi kill several times cause I fired into a clump of reds.
MR series cons - 2s longer to reload than the RPG6, and a miss will mean an entire magazine gone to crap. Projectile speed is also a bit slower so trying to hit fast mech running is a PITA. Some Juggs' shield will shrug off a single salvo of the MR8, which means I'm wasting my second salvo to take off the sliver of shield and will only do minimal damage to the mech. I've also had some high level Lancers survive after alternating fire of my MR8s. I think it's in part pilot skill, speed and overall toughness of the Lancer.
RPG6 pros - alternative firing gives you a fantastic POW POW staccato and is really good against fast mechs as you can adjust your aim while firing and still get decent hits to land. Projectile speed gets a bit faster with each rank. Semi-auto fire means you can take your thumb off the fire button once your target gets into cover or dies and still have a couple of shots to throw at a Jugg's shield or a crippled target. The RPG6 also has decent range and I've killed mechs that I could barely see because I fired while they were either slowed down, or moving straight at me and didn't see me firing. Also has the fastest reload between RPG6, Jav6 and MR6.
RPG6 cons - overall average reload means you have to be smart about your engagements. Every shot missed is a lot of potential damage wasted. Splash doesn't seem to be as good as MR series, and bullet magnetism makes it hard to shoot at targets in shallow cover.

Oh, and since I forgot the subject on the thread in my rambling...skip the MR6 and get the Jav6. It will pay dividends galore in Tournament (not so much in CPC on some maps).

Discalaimer: My amount of daily play time has limited me to mostly Tourney games... so I would say my perspective should be taken as for them, more than CP games, for the time being. I have found that I tend to need to change up my hangar when I do play CP. Javs vs MR6s: I had both weapons as soon as I could get them, and don't regret it. I like the MR 6s on light mechs now, but I used them for a while on both the KS and the Juggs before I got them to R4. If you play smartly and fire carefully and using one at a time when needed, they can do some good. I am pretty sure I ranked mine up... but need to look again. They can definitely be worth it if you commit to learning them. However, like has been said, RPGs are not a bad sub. I will also say this... Javs are a no-brainer. If you haven't gotten them, yet, you should. Whether on KS, Para, or Juggs, I have had nothing but love for them. I have seen an Ares with them that just caused all kinds of havok too. Some maps are harder to employ them in than others, but sometimes even the most protected spots can be angled into. (I hope to make a good case for firing them one at a time, in certain situations, too... since if you can't hit the red, you can switch targets or back up and let them come back out of cover, or if in KS, go give em a love tap ) So... yeah, if you haven't gotten Jav 6s yet and are deciding between them and MR 6, Javs will be a more direct return for your investment. MR 6s aren't a waste, but if you aren't going to commit to getting them at least a Rank up (extra splash radius is part of why I love that weapon... I try to use them at choke-points whenever possible, both them and the 8s, multikills galore) then you won't get the most out of them. IMO, YMMV

MR6’s I find to be just ok. Jav 6’s in the other hand are all that. I recently ranked up my KS to R4, but kept the javs on it anyway because they’re just that good. I’ll probably slap on MR8’s in the heavily covered tourney maps, but otherwise the javs are staying for the foreseeable future. I’ve been flipping between MR6’s and RG6’s on Juggy, mostly for challenges, snd I’m thinking I might actually like the RPG’s a little better. Not completely sure yet. But if I had to do it over again, I’d probably pass on the MR6’s because there are plenty of good alternatives for EN12 mechs.

I will say one thing. On an open map (little to no vertical cover) like today's tourney map, I will take Jav6s over MR8s every day and twice on Sundays. They're THAT freaking good.
A high skill level and knowledge of the maps is necessary to maximize effectiveness, but when you begin to master them, the critical damage potential at higher levels and the ability to hit mechs from advantageous angles (sides and back strikes give damage multipliers) makes them unparalleled. Mine are at 4.4 right now and I hit my highest Expert Heat score this afternoon with 17 kills and a score of 375. That's a Tuesday score, not a Thursday score. They're amazing.

Thanks everyone for your contributions to the discussion.
I got a pair of Jav4 and Jav6s and I’m loving them. Great weapon.
The 6s have given new life to my Paragon. I’ve been using the 4s on my Shadow.
Totally satisfied to go with the Javs.
