So... this happened a bit quicker than I thought it would...
So... Should I go ahead and pull the trigger and upgrade to R4? Or keep saving A-Coins for the Carbines or Railgun or some other endgame purchase? I am not very saving minded in these games, usually, but with this game it's been pretty easy, overall, to do so. Thing is... I could definitely outfit the Juggs, right now, with some goodness if it were R4... and that HP bump yo!

Redfiend advice seems to be to get all the Mechs you like to 3.7, then get weapons that start at Rank 4 or 5. If you are ready with your other Mechs, then I'd say go for it. Rank 4 is where the Jug becomes the tank we would all expect it to be. I think this will result in getting more difficult Ai opponents, but I'm not where you are at yet.

I barely play CP, mostly Tourney, so I'm still only in Div 4... however I already have an R4 KS, Ares, and Panther, so it wouldn't be my first. I already get crazy matches when I do play CP so I don't think it will make things any worse than it already is... so no worries there.
The question is mostly:
A) Keep saving for Carbs/Railgun
B) Buff the big boi, now.
I am leaning towards Juggs though... but I keep coming back to not having a lot of high energy weapons... and REALLY want a Carb 10 or Railgun (might skip on the Carb 8s... not decided yet)

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I just bumped my Killshot up to R4, and I'm about 110 a-coins away from getting the Jav 6's up to R4 as well, so they're going first. Once that's done, it will likely be between Lancer and Juggy on who goes up next. Lancer is at 3.6, Juggy at 3.5; neither have enough BP's or credits to go up yet, so I think it's probably a matter of which one accumulates the resources first, because I just can't decide which one will benefit ME more. As beefy as Juggy is at the next level, Lancer is so agile and has a crapload of HP for a 'light' mech, not to mention it's such a blast to play. On the other hand, it's not going to help me against higher level enemies as much as a ranked up Juggy, so I need to weigh fun factor vs. practicality there. Listen to my brain (which clearly hasn't gotten me very far up to this point) or follow my heart.
But mama, that's where the fun is.

I'd up the Jugg. Means you've got more flexibility when deploying your EN8 weapons.
So far my Guardian, Killshot, Panther and Ares are EN16. I like moving the weapons around them to suit maps/moods.
I'll get my Jugg up to EN16, level up a couple of key weapons, then start the long slog to save up for the Carbines and Railgun.

I think I am going to go for it... between y'all and my already leaning towards the Juggs... yeah I think I'll do it. That HP bump is worth it if nothing else is.

Go for it! I see a big difference in my play experience with the Jugg. I recently bumped its PC8 to R4 as well (cleared out my carefully saved up A-coins AND had to buy the $7 daily deal too). Man, what a difference! On Tournament today, a red MR8 Panther had me dead to rights from an elevated position. He was a really pilot too, very patient and we did the whole "hide behind things and corner shoot" over and over until I got him. I only won that engagement because of the upgraded Jugg and PC8.
Of course, over the next few games, this guy kept coming up on the opposite team and he dished out the beat down...thems the breaks I guess.

Another yes vote. Juggs tops my list to take to R4. The health I'm sure is great but really it's the taking the weapon slots to E16 that is the driver. You can last a long while in an upgraded R3 but you can't really dish out a commensurate level of hurt.

If you like it I guess. I do not like this mech, so no resources are put there. I know it is a real pita when leveled, but damn what an ugly design. I much prefer Ares, Guardian, or Panther over this eye sore

Instead of " get of my way " , perhaps the phase should be " may the Schwartz be with you."

PS: I’ve rediscovered RPG6’s on Juggy, thanks to a RPG challenge. Damn they’re fun. I kept them on, since I still have a long way to go to get it to R4. Probably better setups out there, but it was tearing it up in Tournament pretty good, so there they stay for now, until I get a hankering for something else.

Good thing (I think) about the Carb 10/12 is that they cost credits (not completely sure though, so verify this). I am about to reach the Carb 10 by the end of the week, so I will confirm this, but I'd say only do it if you're going to or plan to use the Juggs. That's a lot of coins to upgrade something when you could stick to the Carb/RG track. I have already decided on my 5 final mechs, so I don't mind pushing all mine to R4 (and I just did this today with my Guardian). Now that I'm all R4, I'm going to slowly use credits to upgrade stuff that earns an ROI (like Jav6) in the tournament and hold off on what's not necessary. Those weapons should make a big difference.

Otherwise, I'll start saving for allz the Carbs and Rails.

Carb 8s cost A-Coins... 8K+... so I assumed they all did. Stoked that the others don't!
EDIT... unless this is saying something different? I assumed since it said "Equip" that paying those A Coins for these would purchase them...?

10 and 12 are 7250 coins, because it's another 1875(10 EN) and 1585(12 EN) plus all of the credits/Blueprints to get the second copy at R6.

I voted for endgame goodness, in part because I do not like Jugg, but also because I like the mechanics and sound fx of the carb and rg, which I intend to build pairs. That is a lot of resources, so after I finish my Shadow to R5, it time ta save save save

Vote for Jugg here, the increase in HP is great, as is the tougher shield, but having another en16 platform is really valuable. Carbines will come eventually - that's the journey towards the endgame. Heck, my calculations suggest about another 14k A-coins needed just to upgrade what I want before I get to buying carbines...

Yeah, considering I use Juggs as much as any other bot, I decided to go for it. I think it is going to be an End Game mech for me... that shield is just too useful. I am finding that I am still a collector, in this game as well as War Robots, so I feel like I will end up with Carbs on down the road, no matter what. Cheers for the insight/suggestions everyone! Oh yeah, to report... this thing slaps. I put my Javs back on Killy and put the MR8s that were on the Killy, on Juggy, and it's been brutal. I will change it back out with a few different loadouts, though, as I don't think MRs are the best on slow mechs for all games... but, with that said, his HP pool is so large that even if I get caught on a reload, so far, it's been survivable.

Jugg at 4* can now properly begin to tank - so you can switch to sustained damage wpns - PC8 or SB12/TL4 - I found they mesh better than the MR - my MR8s are on Ares.

I will try that, but my Ares gives me dirty looks and curses my family name when I take the PC8s away from it... Some of those curses sounded a bit... dangerous. I have ran them on the 3* Jugs before... but I just keep putting them back on the Ares. So far, KS is still my favorite home for MR8s, but I am trying out as much as I can. I will try them on the Ares. I know they do well there as I have faced folk who have them... I think I just do better with them when I am using them on the KS. So far, at least. Minds can change though!

I will try that, but my Ares gives me dirty looks and curses my family name when I take the PC8s away from it... Some of those curses sounded a bit... dangerous. Give it some cookies and milk and read it a story before bed time and it will be fine. I strongly recommend Chips Ahoy. Addendum: Those damm shotguns have put a crimp in my planning and temporarily moved Juggy to the ‘next round’ of upgrades. I’m one upgrade away from ranking up Lancer to R4, which I think I’m gonna need even more if it’s to become a shotgun platform. And then I need to rank up those shotties, too. Sorry, Juggy - it’s only a temporary situation.
