I think a better solution to tanking is instead of creating a tanker league, mark a tanker and place him up to champion or expert. THIS would absolutely deter tanking as it achieves the exact opposite effect of what the tanker wants. Thats not good since it would make Expert and Champion what Bronze and Silver is high now, the team that gets the tanker would lose as it would basically count as a minus 1 player (Because of the levels). Not if you group all tankers vs non-tankers

Not if you group all tankers vs non-tankers Dunno if that's possible though, and it would take alot of time to find matches in those tiers if so. Its just like playing solo, there are sometimes you play against 4 or 5 team comp, ho is going to fill that 1 left player? The same would apply to your opinion, a team of 4 or 5 tankers and if the MM fails to find another one, there goes a unlucky soul.

In the ditcher league the MM just starts matches even if they are not filled. Pix can just set the tankers vs non-tankers and give it 30 sec to fill the tanker but start the game regardless of whether or not the tanker team is filled. More than likely it will become like a 6(non-tankers) vs 3(tankers) or some number like that.

i think people find always a way to make other people cry.... so marke them with T (Tankiers) or mark them as SC (sealClubbers) or mark them with L (loosers) don't change their playstyle. so what's the point?

Yeah the scourge of tanking has gotten bad enough that I don't even care about the damn league I am in any more... If I actually have a game with no tankers, it is in a small minority now. I hope it is sooner rather than later that something, anything, is implemented to curb this. It's getting ridiculous. Almost every loss I have had lately has involved a tanker on my team and none on the reds. Some of those we may have been able to turn around if we had had all our players, although some we prolly would have lost anyway. meh. And I second making the rewards greater for every league. Give peeps a reason to advance and to stay there. Tricky48 - I'm 100% in the same camp. The quality of game play is so atrocious right now that Candy Crush is taking up my game time instead of War Robots because at least the candy isn't working overtime to screw me. No War Robots matches in 3 days and counting.....and really no desire to play a match. I do think Pixo and the tankers could partner to really do society a good thing by branching out into alcohol, drugs, any kind of addictive type product. They have figured out how to take all the fun out of War Robots in just 3 months - just think what they could do with alcoholics and booze....sober folks everywhere in just months, more than Prohibition ever accomplished. I studied Russian (at the University of Taco Bell) and the translation of Pixonics into Spanish means "we are committed to Eradicating Joy thru our incompetence."

I squeezed a couple extra days of fun out of the game by resetting my account to the beginning. It reminded me of how it used to be. Around silver league (ios) the gear MM gave way to the stats MM and it was downhill from there.

Please god let the tanker tag be visible. Like a big red letter "T" on the front of the bot perhaps? What now you want to reward them with... free paint jobs?

3. Performance issuesPixonic is aware of an increase in performance issues, including freezing/crashing and disconnects. They are currently investigating. Yea, I buy that. They blamed us, our gear, connection, etc., for being the months. Then they have server problems, and then it ain't our fault so much. At least use the stand by switch on that Foxbat server Famous last words from PIX, "we are working on it", "looking into it", etc..

I'm wondering if Pix are going cold on the "tankers league" idea.
I don't see it working.
Perhaps the "we're collecting data and flagging people" announcement was just to buy time.
It seems like Pix really don't want to punish people (for fear of them leaving?).
If so, fine. Use the carrot instead of the stick and offer good rewards for participating in the highest league you can reach.

I'm not sure they are going cold on the idea as much as they are scared that some players look like tankers because the game keeps freezing on them. I do agree with the carrot, every other game I've played with performance Leagues has this. I think Pix are just worried that it will hurt their revenue if they give out more. If they lose enough players I think they will change their minds.

I wonder what is tagged as tanker? I usually won't stay in a match if, lo and behold, 2 people are gone, or standing still, by my second bot. I won't play yamantau 3-4btimes in a row either.

#1) Awesome sauce .. I hope they don't include Disconnects, otherwise I'd have 50M 'Tanker' points.
#2) Cool beans ..
#3) From my experience, this usually happens when there is work being done on the back-end. It would be better to shut the Server down for maintenance, in my opinion. Leaving it up while fixing net-code and file managing is impactful on gameplay. But this means a new Version is being developed not just an Update or Patch.

Like a big red letter "T" on the front of the bot perhaps? Yep - Hester Prynne Scarlet Letter kind of stuff. And let it be permanent, or at least stay on for a month or two after they work their way out of purgatory. great, they get to tank down leagues to farm extra au and ag, and now we are talking about giving them free skins too! That's craziness ? Lol

We have some more information from you frm Pixonic directly as part of the Pixonic Insiders program. 1. TankingA number of players have expressed skepticism about the existence of the "tanking queue," where tankers will be playing against one another. Pixonic confirmed that the queue does indeed exist- but has not yet been activated. Currently the system is flagging tankers with "tankers marks." Pixonic wants to make sure that the right people are sent to the queue, so they are monitoring those that get marks. Once they are satisfied it is working as intended, they will activate the queue, and those with tanker's marks will be sent to it. This does seem to indicate that anyone hoping to "beat the system" by tanking now has already had their conduct noted. 2. Custom matchesCustom matches continue to be in development. They will not be in the 2.9 update, however. According to Pixo, the server-side work to enable this is nearly complete, but there remains some client-side work that needs to be done first. 3. Performance issuesPixonic is aware of an increase in performance issues, including freezing/crashing and disconnects. They are currently investigating. Personally,. I am glad Pix is doing something to address the tanking,.. just wished they had announced it a little while back,... some people that started tanking might not have done so, had they known this was coming,.... =/ So,.. if there is a 'tanker que',.. and a 'tankers mark',... because you are trying to change behavior & not penalize a person forever,... there must be a way to remove the 'tanker mark'?.... through normal, non-tanking play?..... o.O

I'm not sure if this is the best place for this. I'm pretty new to reading the forums. Does anyone argue that tanking is, in the long run, bad for the game? My belief is yes. I play for fun, I'm one who likes to play and advance my skill set. I don't need to club a seal to feel important. I don't like winning lopsided matches and I sure as heck don't enjoy being a semi mobile target for a tanker. I've read that there have been numerous suggestions for eliminating tanking. I confess, I haven't read them. It seems that most involve some pretty sophisticated programming that just wouldn't make economical sense to implement. I don't know if this idea has been introduced but I believe the easiest way to stop tanking is to remove the incentives for doing such. I'm not a programmer, but I'm pretty sure it should be an easy task to say that once a player has reached a certain league, they will not earn anything if they play in a lower league. The rewards would go to the highest player of the match that is competing within their own league. I'd like to think that when pixonic first introduced the game their mindset was that everyone would want to advance to the highest level of competition. That would explain why you only gain a few points for winning but lose a large number for losing. The end of month rewards should be significantly higher the higher the league you reach. Unfortunately for the community, some have discovered that the fastest way to gain rewards is to tank and be a seal clubber. I know that if I had just started the game and I had run into this problem, the app would have been uninstalled pronto. If you don't get new players, pretty soon the population starts to implode upon itself. This has happened in a few games that I am aware of, I suspect the actual number is pretty impressive. If a company wants to generate revenue, why not take a game that can be tremendously fun, such as war robots, provide a trial period for people to find that they really do want to play it, and then start charging a subscription fee. Blizzard made phenomenal money with that business model, and last I looked, still going strong.

here is evidence of a whole clan tanking. Now do something about it. Mk2s I am sure do not belong in bronze player games.
