KSO Mech Arena (kingSeveresh) was doing a tournament win streak challenge when he was in my bracket on heats 4 & 5. He finished 1st in Heat 4 while I finished 2nd. In Heat 4 it was clear he could generate more points than I could per game so I didn't try. In Heat 5 I finished 1st and he finished second. I assumed I caught him napping but from the sounds of it he had connectivity issues. How do you fix lag again?

I usually clear cache/data, slog the tutorial, and log back in as soon as I can.

I think it covers most of what I'm typing. Each bracket has 20 players in it. The players in your bracket are all based on what time you started. Usually a bracket is filled fairly quickly and then it's off the the races. This means that everyone in your bracket has almost the exact same amount of time to participate in that day's heat. What it doesn't mean is that players are at the same level of progression throughout the game. In theory, this doesn't matter because the MM only gives you opponents based on how good you are and how far into the tournament you are. That way you face opponents that are similarly matched and it gets progressively harder as the week goes on. In practice, people are trying to find ways to game the system, but that's true of any game. The biggest threat in any bracket comes from people that just have more time to play than you do. You can play as long as you want if you have the a-coins to purchase more golden tickets, but there are diminishing returns on your rewards. Just do the math before you go overboard. 20 golden tickets costs 100 a-coins. Most days, I find that the free tickets, plus some extra are enough to place me top 3. Beyond that, I'm not sure what else you need to know. Feel free to ask questions. Also, read the linked guide. It's thorough and very helpful as it has strategies based on your hanger strength as well. Finding a start time that works for you is perhaps the most difficult thing. I've found one that consistently pits me against the worst possible opponents. This is one of my most closely guarded secrets. Find yours and the a-coins will begin to roll in! |
