Why? I have often wondered why your rocket salvo disappears mid flight when your not is destroyed. I totally get that plasma weapons etc would stop dead but a salvo from a Tulumbus would continue on its merry way to 500m surely? The targeted bot would still receive damage.Seems a bit unfair (and a bit strange) for them to just disappear.

I heard it had something to do with the programming. But I'm no programmer.

depends which side of the salvo you're on Oh definitely. It should only count if fired by a blue bot. If fired by red then I am more than happy for the salvo to disappear. ?

Was wondering about that myself. Makes no sense.

It's just part of the programming. I don't know their code, but I imagine they're part of the bot entity, and when that bot dies the cleanup task destroys all the bot entities (including the projectiles, which were a part of the parent).
But a pix dev could obviously illuminate it more accurately.

At one point, I'd read in the very forums that Pixo was going to address this issue. Not sure when, but supposedly it's on their radar.

At one point, I'd read in the very forums that Pixo was going to address this issue. Not sure when, but supposedly it's on their radar. It was: it was tested as part of a new graphics engine on test server a month or so back, and most testers, myself included, did not like the new look (and the lag seemed worse for many players, too). Pix nixed the graphical changes, so who knows what they will do about it in the future.

It could be the way they designed the system, but this is Game Design 101. Since the dawn of shooters, you spawn rockets and put it in some generic stack, so it's not that hard. Usually, the stack has NPCs, enemies, and projectiles. Depending on if there is a separate stack, then special effects also can go here so they just don't disappear when its parent dies (parent meaning the thing who spawned it like the player or another NPC) This seems to be the case since smoke trails, explosions, and dead projectiles still spiral off into the distance once a bot dies. So to me, it seems more like part of game design.

They know about it, said they fix it, didn't fix it. Sounds like normal for Pix.
