I don’t know about you, but suddenly my weapons are doing less damage to targets. Not all the time, but you’d expect this of Juggs, not a Lancer lol. Because of this, I have been trying to hang back more, identify opponents quickly, and work on them before they get too close, and with some of the longer reload weapons I stagger shots so I’m not left without ammo for too long. These things will help you against Zeph The first time I saw a Lancer take all 6 missiles from my MR8 surprised the heck out of me. Good thing I was able to give it the next 6 missiles!

The first time I saw a Lancer take all 6 missiles from my MR8 surprised the heck out of me. Good thing I was able to give it the next 6 missiles! I FINALLY got some update cards for my Lancer today and took it from 3.3 all the way up to 3.4. It'd been at least a week since I saw any updates for it til today. I found a spot on that snowy map that with a couple of jumps I can get it near the top of one of those peaks. I stood there for the longest time spamming Javelins on reds. Would have been absolutely killer if they were 6's, but even the 4's were enough of a distraction and got me #3 bot (top bot on the team!). Seems like every game I'm finding new tricks with it and new places to get to. It's turning out to be more fun than even Killshot. I just need to upgrade the crap out of it to give it some more teeth.

Not to demean the Lancer, but today, I saw a blue Lancer jump into the air and exploded in mid-air from a red's Thermal Lance. It was one of the funniest things I've seen, second only to the sight of a Killshot dying in mid dash and it's wheel continuing to roll towards the intended target.

I have also been encountering more Zephyr as I approach D1. Spend more time waiting, observing, corner shooting, sneaking, and taking advantage of longer ranged attacks, especially on distracted opponents. The combination of these things allows you to avoid the Zeph in many cases, and for you to get some damage in. I don’t know about you, but suddenly my weapons are doing less damage to targets. Buying the 4 star weapons early only gives a limited power trip, because what you're fighting when you first obtain them aren't in 4 star gear. Once the enemies catch up to things like MR in terms of their own upgrade levels, it's a different game.

The best part of Lancer death when it dies on the way up, is that the legs do ragdoll somersaults while flying through the air.

Oh, follow me around for a game or two and you’ll see some pretty spectacular deaths. I frequently will jump to try to dodge that last killer round, usually to no avail, and end up getting blown up mid-air. I haven’t quite mastered the art of dodging enemy fire, among the great many other skills I haven’t mastered yet.

DeadeyeIf I was any good at editing I'd youtube. I've done it a few times, and was pleasantly surprised when it worked. Dodging Javs and Missile Racks are why I intend to keep Lancer around lol

I would guess you would need to jump at an angle that the Javs just have no hope to make... and not just straight up... am I close?

Yes, I’ve actually surprised myself and done that once or twice. Haven’t got the timing down where I can do it regularly, and part of that is just knowing that they’re even coming in. But yeah, a couple of times I jumped off to the side expecting to land in pieces but only took a bit of splash damage. It really is a great little bot. I would guess you would need to jump at an angle that the Javs just have no hope to make... and not just straight up... am I close? Yup. The problem is, you have to know when the missiles are coming AND what direction they’re coming from. I’m guessing you need to jump back and to the side, preferably to a landing spot that’s a higher elevation than where you were targeted. I’m not entirely sure on that because I need a little more time figuring it out.

Jumping directly backward from the direction they're coming from works. They're not like spirals.

I hear jumping off the edge in certain maps will also sometimes prevent Javs from killing you. That might or might not have happened back when I was running a Lance. XD
