Maybe I am missing it, but you only get A-Credits (coins?) from chests or when you purchase them.
From most chests, you get a handful...maybe 10ish from a Gold chest. Unless you are top 3 in a tournament, 8n which you can get upwards of 500.
Problem is...get in the top 3 is ridiculous, IMO. Yesterday, the #1 player had 3 times the WINS than I had games played. So, the only option seems to be either to have stagnated mech/weapons or spend cash in order to upgrade.
Sorry about the rant...

Tournament. Farming. Guide. There are easy ways to get 1000-1200 coins/week until you're at the level/efficiency to start winning 2k+/week.
On top of the normal payouts, there's the 10 key chest that pays out 750 or 375 coins regularly. Sure, you'll get skins sometimes from picking up the 10 key chests, but skins don't drop duplicates so the chances at currency increase every time you do get a skin. The RNG table uses fixed values, so as skins drop there are less items on the table.
It's easy to get 1k coins a week for beginners, 2k for intermediates, and close to 3k in the last third (rank 4+) stretch of progression.
The AI is also more vicious depending on the player's progression. Someone at division 1, 10k wins with a 1700 hangar power is facing stronger opponents than a newbie with 500 hangar power, even in tournament. As long as you play well for your level, you'll be getting the same amount of points per match, if not more, than the person leagues ahead of you in tournament.

Yeah it's all about farming the tournament for A-Coins, which once you get the hang of it is pretty easy to do. This thread is a good guide: war-robots-forum.freeforums.net/thread/41944/tournament-fortune-vaults-cheese-foreverTime of day however does make a difference. About two hours after the tournament ends (I'm assuming this is the same fixed time for everyone) it calms down a lot and I win pretty much every match, usually in first and often at my top scores to maximize my ranking. So I do almost all my farming then and jump out so far ahead that no one really bothers trying to catch up. I save all my day's crates (minus the free ones in the store) for opening after the daily challenges end (which is nice for blueprint/crate opening tasks as well). So I'll already have a full day of free tickets saved and then I'll add on 5-7 more from all the crates as I play. Also I recommend doing a 100 A-Coin for 20 Golden Tickets deal (once you need it) and keeping them in reserve. I rarely use mine, still have 14 left from the one time I did it, but they're handy on occasion.

Yeah, they pile up slowly. I just take what I can get, and plunk a few $$$ if I see a good offer.
You want to hurry and catch up to those guys better equipped than you, and that’s what the devs count on to get you to spend. Thing is, once you get to their level, there’s another group a little higher. And so on, and so on, and so on. Gotta just be patient, and unfortunately that means taking your lumps in the process. Advancing is fun, lumps not so much ... all you can do is git gud, and find some good teammates to squad with!

I think the key is to bring keys from the previous heat to the one you want to win. I play professional because its the easiest to win a-coins. Just qualify to advance in novice, dont try to win it. Then bring the extra keys to professional, use them up, earn the other 12, use those up. Get huge score. Next play one match in expert to get demoted back down to professional with all the keys you earn there, rinse repeat.

Speaking of times to play, interestingly, the last few nights I’ve been waiting up til midnight EST, when a lot of the daily stuff resets (except for tournament). I’m not sure exactly why or how, but I’ve been able to bang out 7 challenges in just over an hour. Then hold onto them, play a few more games during the day until my XP maxes out, then cash in all the challenges. Could just be a fluke, but I’m going to keep trying that (as long as I can stay awake) and see if there’s a pattern to it.

Lately I've gotten a few of the more frustrating challenges. Still, they have a lot better selection than War Robots.

There seems to be at least one every day that looks reasonably straightforward, right up until you actually try to complete it.

That’s actually the first one that gets swapped out! At first, I was... Then... Then I saw ѻﻭɼﻉ 's post where he took top 3 spots and felt he was like... Well that just figures. I don’t think I like you any more. Yeah, so today I get this very challenge. Tried 3 times in tournament to complete it, couldn’t come close. In fact every game I took at least a ding before I ever fired a shot, and that’s all it takes to put the kibosh on that for the rest of the match. Doesn’t help that there is no place to completely hide from enemy fire on this map. So I swapped it, and got ... 15 kills with Ares with the shield up. Uuuggggghhhhh. I’m sure I’ll be working on (and cussing at) that one all friggin day.
