I am quitting War Robots. I have been inactive for few months, and figured I just needed a break and when I returned i did not like the changes i saw and the new changes announced just completely drove me away. Everything takes so long to get, and is ridiculously expensive if you try to buy it. And oh yeah... game keeps getting flooded with new crap every month, either it is a new robot, a nerf or game mechanic change. I'm Sick of it. Right around the time when Pixonic announced Dino Squad, I was introduced to another game called Jurrasic Moster World. I fooled around with it for a while and than put it away, i figured it is just another warrobots. Recently I started playing it again and it grew on me. This is essentially warrobots, without Pixonic aggressive monetization model. True, it still needs some work and there are some issues to be fixed, but what i really love so far... It is the same game i put away few months ago without new Op dino that breaks the game, no new modules no new pilot rework and no new crap that nobody asked for. I guess the only good thing about pixonic is that every month there is something new to complain about. I would like to thank the community of this forum for support and advice and I wish there was a way i could give away all the goodies i acquired. I just don't see myself continuing with warrobots. Its a game if its not fun you get the heck down the road. Life is short I hope you find something else soon to occupy your free time and have a blast.

Another one bites the dust...
Understandable mate! I hope you find much more enjoyment out of war robots than you had in it! I am the same as you, havent seriously played for a few months now, and poking around to see what happens with all the nerfs and drone releases. If the meta balances out a bit, and the Hawk stops being obnoxiously powerful, I may stick around, but highly doubtful the way things have been going the last 6 months.

I figure when I throw in the towel I might try one of those bevvy of zombie/survival games that I get never ending ads for. That or call me a legend or whatever it is.

Don't wanna hurt your enthusiasm, but this game is a clone of Robot Warfare (same dev, same mechanics). Now that one I played extensively, maybe 18 months ago. From memory: It was very good and enjoyable for a month or so, when I finally hit the highest league - which was dominated by bots that must have cost huge amounts of RM, and one-shot me with ranged weapons. It was essentially Pixos older War Robots without god shields and components, but they sell Dragoon-like weapons for real money that outrange everything else, and with 18 levels of upgrades and a 10% increase, a set of level 18s of these would just melt anything in 2-3 seconds that a small fish can build (I spent a bit of money, and my bots were like level 9). With no way to drop leagues (you could only go up), it meant paying or uninstalling. And we're talking thousands and thousands of dollars. Can you guess which one I chose?  I checked it out at some later point, but it seemed they just added the newer monetization strategies like components and black market without changing the business model. Learned from Pixo how to obscure the true cost of things. Essentially it was fun long enough to get hooked, and very suddenly monetization reared its ugly head. |

They run the game like some criminal syndicate making it very hard to just enjoy playing, win or lose. Thats why pixonic gets such massive amounts of hate and theres always people quitting the game. Unfortunately most of the war robots alternatives suck, battle of titans is the best alternative so far. Did you try the 6 pack league in war robots?

Unfortunately most of the war robots alternatives suck, battle of titans is the best alternative so far. Did you try the 6 pack league in war robots? Check out Mech Arena - still in open beta, but growing a following pretty fast. Very active subforum right here. |
