Wondering If leaving a hangar slot open will improve the mm for those of us on a rough streak. Leaving a slot unfilled definitely lowers your power score. Might be worth a try to run just your best two or three bots.

Might be worth a try to run just your best two or three bots. Doesn't change one thing. Removed two bots, kept my strongest bot (176 points) and played against 500 to 1200 points hangars. I think match making in combination with the one-shot kills result in a game that I don't want to play lol.

Im finding as my bots get to rank 3, the three bot hangar produces the best match ups. Being an 800 score hangar, but having rank 3 to 4 bots lets you handle those 1200 hangars pretty well.

I basically just started playing (having played maybe five to seven hours in total), three bots in my hangar now, combined 417 or so points. A lot of my opponents, be it AI or be it human players, have weapons that are way stronger than what I have. I have some of those pink beam sissy laser weapons leveled to 6, if this is called levels. Barely does any damage. Tried out shotguns, which are a joke. The autogun (machine gun?) is a joke, too. Things that work in the game:
- getting whacked by Javelin - getting whacked by Mortar - getting whacked by RPG
Those weps above are way too strong.
The plasma/laser/bullet weapons in this game don't work, at least for me. Have had some success with RPG, regret having spent "pink currency" for getting the laser things and other things. I have some stuff leveled to the end of MK1, the point when you can upgrade to a higher tier?, weapons are around 4 to 6.
Walking around a corner getting whacked by incoming from above is bs.
Just wondering hwo your hangar has 800 points while mine has only 400. Are you talking about leveling your bots to level 3 or tier three (=MK3?). In all honesty, I don't really understand how things work in Mech Arena regarding the level of stuffs. But doesn't matter, will probably stop playing as I don't enjoy getting a bot whacked in one second.

I'm finding that i still need to play really smart, but the blue ai bots are better. most of the games the reds are down to two bots at the end. The hangars are about 1200 vs my 500 hangar. having only two bots is rough though when every red is gunning for you definitely would still recommend squading

The lasers are more for utility... they cause a DM like status effect called overheat. Pair it with another weapon... hit with laser till you see the flame icon then hit with the other weapon.
Also, I highly recommend you read the guides Redfiend has posted. There is a wealth of knowledge there about how to figure out both the intricacies of the game UI and currencies and how to get them, as well as weapon and bot upgrade priorities, etc. I believe they are all stickied in the home page of this subforum... here.
It's very possible to play and not get killed but it's like any of these games, the learning curve is real.

One thing I noticed with a two bot 500 hangar is that the ai Guardians seem to be running long arms instead of rocket mortars.
