No, it would also be different due to the different equipment or bots you have. I never get one for md as I’ve never bought it
one of the ones today, use jugs shield 25 times

I really dislike the "MVP x times with weapon y" tasks. The best strategy is to open with that bot, and then don't spawn another until the game is over, especially if it's a crappy weapon.

Yeah, those can be troublesome. But on the plus side, they usually span all strengths of the same weapon (eg RPG 2/4/6), so theoretically you can load up 2 or even 3 bots with the same weapon type until you crack (or improve the odds of cracking) that challenge. I put RPG 4’s on Killshot and 6’s on Panther and banged out 125k in two games. Not only did I finish the challenge, but it was good fun just playing a different weapon than I usually use. But yeah, MVP with auto cannons is definitely more of a challenge than taking 250k damage.

The Autocannon Killshot was fairly inefficient, ACs require too much exposure to be effective on anything unshielded.
The task that I switched out was 3x MVP with Themal Lance, btw I regret ever unlocking those.

Now the unlocked/unacquired ones just clutter up my weapons list. Now there’s a suggestion I could throw at the devs, a filter on the weapons selection screens. Ability to filter on a particular energy level or two, or ignore anything that isn’t acquired, or both.

Thermal lance 6 is the only good one. After rank 2, dual Lance's will apply overheat almost instantly. I've found that it helps quite a bit, because friendly AI will keep Jugs and enemy human players as their top priority. Overheating what friendly AI is shooting at sees the enemy they were fighting die quicker, and allows duos/trios to move about the field and push forward where they would otherwise still be trying to get rid of an enemy Panther/Juggernaut.
I imagine the same line of thinking would be useful while piloting an MD, to keep friendly mechs alive where they would otherwise lose their next firefight.

Game is PISSING ME OFF today. One last challenge was something ridiculous that I had zero chance of completing, so I swapped it and got ... capture 3 control points in a game with Killshot. Played about 20 games and never got more than 2, usually just one, mostly because of the crap matchups Iâ??ve been getting every game. So I swapped THAT one out, and got ... kill 3 mechs without taking any damage. Again, imfrigginpossible with the lopsided matchups I’m getting. Hell, most games I’m getting tagged with some kind of rocket crap before I ever get off a shot. Not only can I not complete this one last stupid challenge, I can’t even win a game today. Time to put it down for awhile, I guess. I hate leaving challenge bonuses on the table, but the way MM and ?slow? AI gets progressively worse the more you play, it’s a hopeless cause.

When the game gets like that i squad, only way to defeat the evil mode ai I’ve been looking for lower-level players to squad with, but none are around this morning. People must have jobs to go to or something. Anyway, I finally killed it, on Old Dubai. Opened with the javelin Panther and hid behind cover near the spawn point the whole game, just waiting for reds to come into range and hope they wouldn’t be overly aggressive and storm the control points near home. Lost the game on control points, but I somehow ended up with 6 kills and no damage. Last minute was a bit scary - a red that I half-damaged was coming up the hill between two buildings at me, I threw up a barrier and just barely managed to keep him from getting a bead on me before I finished him. I’ll play a few more games now to max out my XP, then cash in my challenges and call it a day.

Do you guys prefer Mech Arena over Mech Battle? I recently saw Foggy’s channel and noticed he’s been playing MA. Just curious if I should considered starting an account with MA...Thanks!!

Ugggghhh ... last challenge to complete today, win 2 games on Patterson Station. Do you think I can get a single game on Patterson Station?!?! I already swapped it out once from a challenge I had zero chance of completing. Now the longer I go trying to just get a match in that map, the harder it’s gonna be to even win one, never mind two. I’m hesitant to swap it again and end up with something even more difficult/impossible to complete. Seems like every day there’s always one of these. Do you guys prefer Mech Arena over Mech Battle? I recently saw Foggy’s channel and noticed he’s been playing MA. Just curious if I should considered starting an account with MA...Thanks!! I know I do. I played Mech Battle for awhile, but it reached a point where it just wasn’t fun any more. It just got so repetitive. Same top bots, same loadouts on almost every map, and always those one or two players in every game with slightly higher level gear mopping everybody and everything up. Not to mention AI that were mysteriously aggressive and accurate on the red team, but uselessly slow and stupid as teammates. At least that’s what I remember about it. I tried it again after they put weight limits on hangars to stop players from overloading with top mechs, which helped but didn’t totally solve the problem. My suggestion, it definitely can’t hurt to give MA a try. Just be warned, though, that it’s approach to purchases and upgrades is different from most other mech games and probably won’t make sense right away. Give it a little time to click, and definitely read up on the sticky threads in this forum for piles of valuable info. And AI is a little quirky at the moment, but the devs are supposedly looking at ways to improve that. Worst case, you find it’s not for you and stick with MB. Or, you might find yourself in a game you really enjoy playing.

‘Kill 15 mechs with Ares with the shield up.’ Sounds pretty straightforward, right? Wrong. Took me all day to finish that one off. Had Ares in every game, with just about every weapon combination I could think of. Even tried one longarm with a plasma cannon for a few games, which was total garbage. Finally finished it off with javelins. But jeebus, timing kills with the shield up is no easy task, especially with the crapazz matchups I’ve been getting all day. Can’t wait to see what gems await me tomorrow.

Just space the javelin volleys to kill steal like a scumbag and it goes fairly quickly.

Some of these challenges are just ?fluffernutter?ing stupid. Kill 5 mechs from behind? Kill 2 mechs while they are capturing your control point? And my second favorite behind kill 3 mechs without taking any damage: kill 15 mechs with Ares with the shield up. Like, ?fluffernutter? that, I don’t have that kind of time to waste chasing that ?dookie? down.
Edit: And then on the other hand .... I had two Lancer challenges, spawn Lancer and get 3 medals, and escape enemy fire with Lancer jump jets 3 times. Reminded me how much friggin fun that mech is. Didn’t hurt having a pretty weak red team, but still.

Holy crap, what horrible challenges today. All weak-azz weapons and bots, with nothing that I could overlap/double up without seriously crippling a bot. Thanks to some good games with mechtout and ⓣⓡⓘⓒⓚⓨ48 to keep me from losing too many. The only thing missing was get MVP with mortar rockets 3 times. Took about three hours to knock them all off, exhausting all my tokens and XP just as I finished the last one. Considering most days I can bang them all out in an hour and a half or less, this was quite the slog. At least it was a decent XP haul, and I did get a couple of good Ares and plasma cannon upgrades when all was said and done. Should be good for some serious butt-kicking when I get back to tournament tomorrow.

Today I got "earn the double KO achievement 3 times." Like 「whiskey tango foxtrot」? The task is to DIE 3 times, while taking out a red at the same time. I ended up getting it somehow, but it sure doesn't seem like much of an achievement!

The hardest part of that one at the time was fielding a hangar that had that much total health.

So does anybody know how to complete the Under the Radar challenge? Description says to cap 4 control points. I did. Then 5. And then 6. But it never completed that challenge. I finally swapped it (after already swapping 3 other even stupider ones). Yes, today was wicked stupid challenge day.

The one catch for these tasks is that some of them must be completed all in one bot. If you want to get Under the Radar, it has to be done all with one mech, obviously making it significantly harder. You can get 4 captures between 2 or more mechs. That's a craptastic task btw.

You’ve gotta be hella lucky, and otherwise generally useless to the rest of the team, because you’ll have to engage no one if you want any chance of keeping 1 mech alive that long. But usually if the challenge must be done by 1 mech, it says so in the description.

I think what he was saying is that you don't even get the achievement unless you get all of the beacons in one mech. And the default Mech Arena arena is the one where I have gotten those the most. IDK if I have gotten the 6 cap one, but Under the Radar, I have a few times. A particularly contested beacon is good for this... one that changes hands a few times... but if the competition is just as eager as you are, it can def be a bear to complete.

So I’m thinking I’m not even gonna bother playing today. I think this is THE stupidest slate of challenges I’ve seen in one day yet. The last one you can’t see is get MVP with Autocannons 3 times. Double KO and 120 blueprints are the only ones reasonably reachable, the rest aren’t even worth bothering, and certainly not worth the a-coins to swap them all out .... I can sense the profanities spewing already attempting to try. Nope, not putting myself or my iPad through that aggravation today. And screw tournament too, after yesterday’s utter debacle. Edit: four hours later, swapped out the autocannon challenge and got 250k damage with plasma cannons (infinitely more attainable), and finally closed them all out. Of course battles on Mesa Verde are as rare as hen’s teeth when you get that challenge. I ran a crapload of CPC matches with only Lancer and javelins, including the two Mesa Verde wins. I might just run all my CPC matches that way from now on. I’ll tell y’all, if I ever do this over again, which I’m seriously thinking of doing if I get a new iPad, I’m very likely going to try sticking only with Lancer and Paragon, autocannons and RPG’s, focusing all resources on only those just for giggles and see how far I can go. And only tournament games!!!
