How did you come to pick your hanger line-up? And favourite bot - trail and error or blind faith? I have not one but two of those squishy Carnages in my line up (Zeus and Thunder 9/8/8). It wasn't love at first sight and we still have massive rows - close to divorce on many occasions!! But I just decided that I wanted one in my hanger and heard if you got it right - it was great. But it feels like blind faith at times.....But Ive persevered, sometimes only due to the fact as Having invested in the 'relationship' I need to see it through to 12/12!!!! Although I've done better with other bots just I can't think of my hanger without a Carny in it. Still not delivering consistently but hoping one day to get there. Note: I'm sure people feel the same way about the following but have never owned, or likely to own, a Rhino, Natasha, Fujian or Raijin (sic).

How did you come to pick your hanger line-up? I paid close attention to what people with my play-style were using, and double-checked with the forums. :-) Favourite? I like my Thunder Carnage for his ability to jog into the face of someone who annoyed me and explode with the force of a thousand suns! :-) As glass cannons go, Carnage is superb!

My hangars have just been an evolution of time. Yes, I own and use a Rhino on both platforms. They were new shiny toys when they came out, as were the Brit-bots. The nerf to the Rhino didn't help, but changed how I use them. Likewise checking others hangars is a great source of info, I definitely use that resource. Unlike you I have Carnages but they generally sit. But I still have hope for them. I do like the twin thunder.
My favorite bot will always be the Boa, even though it was nerfed also.
I owned all the bots at one time, however the Fury, Fujian and Raijin have never seen the field of battle. The only one I don't own was sold when that option was first available, the Natasha, before buff's.

Jump Drives = Air superiority. Easy decision.

A lot of it comes down to looking at the stats and description for the bots. I was a big fan of the Fujin even before the buff or rebalance to its shield. Now its shield is an absolute beast. At the time, it had 3 medium hard points which gives it more fire power than almost all bots. Before the Ancile buff, it was one of the rare bots with a worthwhile shield due to the ability to recharge. Even with the unknown Ancile bug, I kept the bot underleveled compared to the rest of my hanger since it was very durable (level 6 vs level 9). I do keep it overleveled now since I have a Fury and so the role of my Fujin has changed (level 11 vs level 9). THe added hit points make it as durable as my Griffin, and the revamped shield allows me to fend off 2 Max level Fury Tridents. Last night, I won on Yam by using my shield. Held the center long enough, and took out any approaching brawlers with my Orkans. I eventually had to abandon post and find a safe place to recharge my shield. When my Fujin got taken out by a plasma Leo, my team was down 2 players for some reason but it was too late for a come back from the reds. I would have lost if I didn't have my Fujin since my team was too weak to hold on to center. I checked after the match, and I had 2 noobs on my team for some reason. I think the matchmaker was testing our team to see if a strong defensive but weak offensive team could win on this map (an Ancilot was helping me out too). If you read the description, it says that the Fujin can lock down an area, which in this case, that's what I did with it.
As you can see, nobody really uses the Fujin so there are no strategy guides or even Youtubers to emulate, plus many would assume it's terrible because they don't see it in anyone else's hanger. I've used the Fujin for a long time, so I have personal experience to draw upon (vs hearsay).

It's a bitter feeling to save big for a bot and then invest in upgrading it and its weapons and then realize one day that it was a big mistake..
And sometimes overthinking it would end up being as bad as just going for a purchase based on mere taste.
No matter where you look everybody recommends a Rhino over a carnage for instance.. I'm still struggling with my Rhino. Was better off with a DB Griff than putting it on a Rhino..
Today I dropped my sniper Natasha at last. I spent 1500 gold on those two Gekkos and upgraded them to level 7 along with two Kangs.. But at my level now it does too little damage it became a liability.. Besides its horribly slow..
So I replaced it with a close range bot.. Now running the Russian Griff as my longest range..
I'll keep using the Rhino for now, sometimes it does its job well but not only lacks consistency, it also fails me more often than not.. It needs few upgrades though, will do them and then decide on it..

I tended to look at what was regularly kicking my 「bum-bum」 ... as a future purchase and the bot I swatted away as a one to avoid ... unfortunately that landscape changes quite a bit with the buffs & nerfs ... says a man with 2 Gepards in his hangar

I've used the Fujin for a long time, so I have personal experience to draw upon (vs hearsay). The number of Fujins in the wild has definately increased. Its fun to play, but I find it fragile, there are so much Trebs and Zeus in the leagues I play (silver/gold) that a Fujin hardly ever lasts long. IMO the best loadouts are Molots or Hydras, and the Fujin has to stay out of 350m of any red robot. But still, why not go for a Carnage instead? It has the same shield and much more mobility. The firepower from 2 heavy weapons is usually equivalent to 3 medium weapons, with the exception that there is no heavy equivalent of Taran/Mag. But you want to stay at 550m anyway. And the upgrade time for a Fujin is the longest of any robot I checked, it takes over 26 days to get to level 12, compared to 20 days for a Carnage, 15 days for a Griffin or 7 days for a Natasha.

I got the rhino as a placeholder for plasma weapons until i got a galahad. Fell in love with it, now it has replaced my stuka griffins, and am currently upgrading my second one. Pinatas and orkans are so good on the rhino! Love it.

If it isn't clear, I bought a Fury so the role my Fujin had has retired. Meaning my Fury now has support duty, so my Fujin has become redundant. I tried other support bots, RDB Griffin, rocket Leo, etc., and the Fujin seemed to fit the role the best. Fury gets the call of duty now instead of my Fujin because of the increased fire power that can't be matched. I've been using the Carnage Thunder for the past few weeks, and like running a shielded bot. But it's a different beast compared to a Fujin. They may both have Anciles, but Fujin has the strongest one and the fastest recharging one. I use combined arms tactics to minimize the weakness of the Carnage (use a heavy bot for a meat shield, and provide protection from missiles for the slow heavy) But Carnage is best as a light escort, assassin, or beacon capper. By light escort, I mean that it can only block a couple aphids, maybe one full DB salvo. My Fujin can easily block 2 Max level Fury Tridents or 2 DB salvos with room to spare. Plus the Fujin can continue holding defensive position against 2 Fury Tridents while the Carnage will lose its shield after an initial attack and cannot hold ground. The Fujin is like Hodor against overwhelming odds, until the enemies can produce enough wights to take him down.

I bought everything I thought I might want and tested it again and again and again. I've owned pretty much everything and multiples of it at level 6-7ish. I was a bit disappointed with the Fujins, as I bought four of them, but I'm hoping that fifth Orkan I bought for it won't go to waste.

My love for Pin Patton came from it's near universal utility. I quickly discovered that, unlike a Pinata Patton which has to be in range and hit with more rockets, Pin Patton can fire from a safer distance, risk less hits, and switch targets as easily as noticing a new one.
I picked PDB Gareth because I like knights and being a nussiance to slower Rhinos and Leos that are focused on other things.
And lastly, my dual Thunder dual Pinata Natasha came from running out of ideas and it just stuck. In the right situation or with help it can easily put pressure on bots so long as they don't have physical shields. The best part? If you just fire the two Thunders it can DECIMATE an energy shield then put holes into a Fujin or Carnage.

I usually reserve the 5th slot of my hangar for something more visceral. It keeps things from getting too (ahem) mechanical. I do like thunder carnages, too.
