Nice games today, A.c.r.u.x. and mechtout. I was literally moments away from rage-deleting when I got that invite.

Hope I didn't kill steal too badly on that second one... after the effort the first one took I just got in the zone... wasn't trying to hog all the kills but I was seeing blood lol.
Either way, I appreciated the games, it's always good to have your back covered and you definitely held down your end of the battle, sir! o7

Running only an MD on my part lol... damn thing is killer with Jav4 + Jav 6 and a bit of time to heal between tough spots... that event we just had made me play it and then I really discovered how much I actually enjoy the damn thing lol! Friggin A, I liked it so much I took the resources I was saving for my second KS and got it up to R5 lol. Now dual Jav 6s... I mean it's just nasty fun!
Quick mech, support heals, and good damage... YES please!
You're making me reconsider my plans! I have over 300k credits saved up now and over 5k A-coins. I was saving up my A-coins for the Railgun (which I am getting close to unlocking). I was originally saving my credits for the Brickhouse, which I have now unlocked, but I'm no longer interested in getting it. I do prefer faster mechs, and running either a Juggernaut or Guardian in my hangar is such a drag sometimes. I had a focused event of only Jugg tasks and it was frustrating for me to get all of them. I'm just not that enamoured with the tank style of play. So, if I do go the MD route, that would mean temporarily abandoning my plans for the Railgun. Sidenote: I've watched some vids on the Railgun, and it is ridiculously tiny for something that does so much damage and uses so much energy and it looks really hard to use too. I was planning on putting the Railgun on my Zephyr since one RG16 does more damage than two MR8, but a single miss (and yes, I WILL miss even with my target locked down) will be both embarrassing and disastrous. What other loads outs have you used on the MD? My Jav6 are embedded on my Shadow, and my Killshot is currently rocking RPG6. I suppose I can move my PC8 to my KS and speedupgrade my MD to EN12 and throw the RPG6 on it. What do you think?

I'll say it like this... MD is full on support. Like, you are not going to go head to head with folk that are 3000SP hangars of all the top 「dookie」, even if yours were maxed, without a competent squad. That said... it's not the effectiveness that drew me to it... it was just fun.
Here are my thoughts so far:
I have ran it quite a few times since the event, and in CPC solo it works pretty damned well, and in squads against other squads it can work as long as your team is aware that you are running it and will allow you to heal them and stick close enough to let you assist with your weapons (since you wouldn't be running Javs). BUT... if you are squadding with straight killers that use KS as a first mech with Zeps and Brickhouses and Guardians, etc., to follow, and y'all are against Randoms on the Red side, you won't do much to affect the outcome of the game. There is just not enough Red AI to kill before the game is over when running with a good squad vs random AI with maybe a single real player on the Red's side.
Tourney... can go either way. Weapon choices depend on the map, but overall, you can stay alive for a while and keep others alive, but you are limited in EN, just like with Shadow and Lancer. The AI have been especially nasty for me once they reach 1500 + so I have found that if I face even 1 real player in Tourney that is semi competent, there just isn't enough time in a Tourney game to get the most out of the MD. You need mechs that can put a LOT of damage downrange, fast... and the MD is not able to carry enough firepower to do that in most games. Even the Javs aren't that great without the KS's headbutt of death to seal the deal if you don't kill them (unless you are only just looking for damaged Reds in hopes of finishing them off, that is.) With enough time to play the long game, it would work... which is why I like it in CPC... but in Tourney, unless running with a good squad, I would prolly not run it, often, knowing I will prolly be playing against the "better" AI before long.
So... as always, it comes down to your goals. If fun is high on your priority list and you dig support... it's a no-brainer. If you are worried about end-game and dominating tourney, then no, get the RG.
As far as the weapon loadouts... as long as you are capable of determining when to back out and heal (since you can't while under fire) anything effective will work. I think a single Carb 12 would be a very effective build. I have ran mine with the Carb 10 a few times and it was brutal. Pulse 6s were OK... same with MR 6s. They weren't abysmal, but they weren't amazing, either. I have not tried LA 10 on it yet... but that may work... nor have I tried 2x TL 6s, nor a SB 12. I would say that either of the last two would be good for diving into the full-on support mode, and I plan on doing both before long. Maybe tonight for one of them since I am having to test a bunch of stuff out since I finally got the Zephyr and don't know what I want to use on it... we'll see.
Hope that helps a little!

BTW, if you and Koalabear are still considering the RG, I got it over the weekend. It's AMAZING! It does take some getting used to. The reload and timing of it are a little different than the LAs and if you're running them together, you need to be aware of that. I'm running it on Panther with a LA8 and just last night and today feel that I'm starting to figure out the timing of it. Tanks are the Achilles heel of it. You don't want to fire it into a shield. It's perfect for picking off players as they round a corner, or are distracted by someone on their flank. The damage modifiers make this a one-shot kill in many of those instances. Highly recommend! However, don't expect dominance straight out of the gates.

I'm still hmm'ing and hawing though. Maybe I'll just wait and see. I'm not exactly hurting for things to run, and saving up 8k A-coins without money shortcuts takes a horrendously long time. The CB8 did go on sale over my vacation, but they weren't on sale on Dec 26, which was my requirement, so I didn't end up spending money on them. The significance of Dec 26 is not only was it Boxing Day, but it was my birthday too, so it would have been a present to myself! lol, oh well!

That’s funny (actually sad), because when I’m solo, I’m almost always getting 2200-2300’s now, but when I team with STRONGER hangars than mine, the opposition usually drops to 2000-2100’s. I’m talking teammates well into the 3000’s. Makes no sense whatsoever. On the plus side, in the rare solo games, I’ve been faring a bit better since finally getting a few weapons leveled up a bit and filling that 5th slot with my weak-「bum-bum」 Guardian. I put LA8+10 on it for lack of much else available, and it suits its limited purpose - stay out of range of reds and pick them off where I can, and disable them when they get close to either escape to cover or help teammates finish them off. If nothing else, it forces me to work on my pathetic long game. But I digest - will definitely invite you whenever I see you!

I spotted a frunobulax in the wild yesterday in my tournament bracket. Nah, not really playing. My daughter convinced me to play a few rounds with her. Can't say I was tempted to continue after the 3 rounds or whatever we played
It's OK though, I tend to check out games with potential every now and then, in the hope that they improved when I was away. MA hasn't, unfortunately.
