Thank God I didn't leave the Forum... otherwise I might be curious in a month or two and try to redownload and check it out. Time that would obv have been wasted. Hawk with that on it would be just pure fun for everyone, no?  |

Fair enough... but Heavy Shocktrain is not any more helpful to gameplay than drones and chips and pilot skill tweaks. I'd rather them make the Kang and the Nashorn a bit more useful than add a whole other magic weapon into the mix. Just another of the many cherries on top of my "War Robots is getting ridiculous" cake.

It's similar to what I've been dealing with at work for the last ~7 months: the same short-sighted idiots and foolish morons that got us into a mess are being counted on to help dig us out. Pix gonna do what Pix gonna do.

Imagine the Bowtrain. I will Be glorious. Lol. Please no pix. Some spectrain yesterday on Yamantu gave me ptsd from my early days of playing. Think he took out like 6 blues before I got him.

I’m not sure the Shocktrain style has relevance anymore with PS, golden turds, stealth modules, self healing, etc.
Shocktrains were bad mostly because of all the 3-4 medium hardpoint builds. A heavy version would need to be lights out to kill on a two heavy bot like Ao Jun or Hawk - and pointless agains an Arthur.
IMO this news is more like when they released the heavy hydra - louder bark than bite.

Lord, I may need to go implement my Hy-ctre.......Spec-dra......Hyd-eech........Lee-dra? Hell, I don't know what to call it. Something that can kill crap that're using these monstronsities while hiding in a corner trying not to get lit up.
I was leaning toward doing the Hydra/Spectre approach since I already have the Tal Mokri pilot collecting dust in the corner, but leeching on the 「dookie」 sipper using these ill-conceived pieces of garbage may just be a sufficient comeuppance.

I really hope this ends up like Chimera - everyone thought it'd become the new BS camping meta where you hide and spam it - but no chimeras exist anywhere.

Bah gawd, they’ve done it. In one fell swoop they’ve effectively addressed most of my issues with this game. Well, a heavy sharttrain wasn’t exactly at the top of my list of concerns, and there’s everything else that they haven’t even acknowledged yet. But aside from that, they’re well on their way to redemption. I might even tap into my retirement account now and meta-up my hangar, because it would be totally worth living my final years in squalor for that.
Nah, don’t worry, I’m not that far gone. Yet.

All depends on the stats... if they follow the same path that they have been though, it'll have a while where it's performance is pretty damned good to excellent, then it'll get dialed back once everyone jumps on the... ahem... train. 
There are small glimmers of aiming for playability and balance in some of the more recent things they've done with weapons/bots/mods... but it's mixed in with so much BS that I can't really call it anymore.

Noricums. Lots of Noricums. In the Specter era they would hide where hydra couldn't reach and then jump shoot 「dookie」stains. Noticum brought the pain to them and they could not hide. They could only run. When they ran you stagger your shots and chase them all over the map until they suicide or run into blues and get taken out. My noricum Patton was a tormentor of 「dookie」stain sphincters |
