If you had read a certain now-locked thread, you know that I no longer exist on the War Robots official subreddit. I reflected upon what led me to that point, and suddenly had an idea that just might be beneficial to everyone.
Lets get this out of the way first. This is not a NaCl fueled "I'll make my own subreddit! With BlackJack! And ?strong independent woman who don't need no man?s!" This is a subreddit that is both beneficial to the community, Pixonic, and the moderators of the official reddit, forum, and discord.
So then, what exactly is it? Well, its a subreddit that serves the purpose of discussing/ranting about Pixonic decisions, how they may be bad for the game, and general frowned upon tactics Pixonic has been using, as well as to discuss alternate possiblities for Pixonic to extend the games lifespan and still make money out of it (e.g selling cosmetics not power)
So, how does this help the community? Well, it provides a sort of "safe space" to let off some steam when Pixonic does something ?dookie?ty, and don't get me wrong, if Pixonic does something good, It will be there too, but I think having a sub like this is a necessity to keep the actual War Robots content on the other sub and forum limited to actual War Robots content that could be helpful to new players. Think of it as a "big boy r/WarRobotsMemes" but "Memes" is changed to "Rants" (well... sometimes its not TOTALLY big boy... but it's always good to have a little bit of spice mixed in.)
How does this help the mods? The mods are doing their best to keep the sub, discord, and forum quality, and even more than that, it's the same couple mods on each platform. I imagine a lot of the moderating goes towards removing rants that go overboard, so it may reduce the load on them to just have all rants be centralized in a single area that is not affiliated with Pixonic, and thus does not need to have a standard to live up to in order to stay partnered, if you know what I mean.
How does this help pixonic? The subreddit would be helpful for Pixonic in a way that they can view the critical portion of the playerbases' reaction to certain updates, which could help them improve the game, as well as having a full place where people can run free and vent their frustrations, so Pix knows exactly whats going on and exactly what the community wants to happen.
I want to make this absolutely crystal clear though, that's why its in scary red bold text. While I am making a subreddit which will ultimately be used to point out many of Pixonic's flaws and... interesting business practices... I do not personally hate Pixonic, and I understand that they "gotta do what they gotta do" to keep the lights on. With that being said, there will be absolutely no death threats, witch hunting, slurs, or personal call outs on this subreddit. Rule number one: Be Decent.
Anyway, I don't want to extend this post too long, so I'll just drop a link for anyone who would like to check it out: www.reddit.com/r/Pixonic
Edit: One more thing: In case the bold red text didn't convince you, I'd like to make it clear that r/Pixonic is not intended as a cesspool of hate and circlejerking. It's meant to describe personal experiences, ideas that could genuinely better the game, unprecedented meta shifts, predatory gatcha mechanics, etc. Please don't judge a sub by it's creator, because I know some of you guys don't like me much.
