Am I the first one to notice this? Seems like the use of an inverted red triangle so prominently displayed is not coincidence. Whoever did it did a poor job of it too. Looks like a simple copy-paste layer. I played against a red named himself/herself 'hitlerii' not sure what s/he wants to achieve though. Maybe some dark humor that I don't comprehend. Still too offending, imo.

The inverted triangle is the pagan symbol for female. Likewise, swastica means something like 'happy life in sanscrit.they are both twisted by Nazis and their precursor anti-Semitic s.

I would not worried too much about symbolism, but those who named themselves after the historically known evil persons make me more concerned.

Nazis stole everything. From what I know, they did not invent one symbol themselves. I think it's a coincidence to see such symbol in War Robots and honestly, a red triangle, yeah, not very unique.

Pixonic could, like basically every other multi player game, implement a word filter. So if someone wants to use the name Hitlersomething or Goebbels or whatever nazi 「bum-bum hole」, he'd be automatically renamed into CuteButtercup and unable to change the name for a month or so.

Not buying the, “it’s just coincidence” argument. Sure there are tons of symbols that can be interpreted to mean many things. With the timing and strategic placement of this Russian company, there is more to it.

Sometimes a red triangle is just a red triangle.

Are you talking about the HUD nav point for enemies? THAT inverted red triangle that is used to denote the location of the Red team? The one that has an opposite that is a Blue inverted triangle to denote where your allies are?
Is that the ultimate_fascist_simp_squad* symbol you are referring to?
If so, I have to wonder if you are looking a bit too hard for a correlation.
Maybe it's because I don't know what means in this context... but really... I don't see it.
Not trying to argue I am just seriously not seeing it...
And as far as the person in the picture... there is absolutely nothing there that makes me think they are referencing the holocaust victims.
*not gonna even honor the name enough to type it, plus, this sounds better

With that said, I googled it and it can symbolize so many different things. But, I believe they sketched up the character for the pilot (or copied it from something else) and decided he looked plain so they added a symbol to his forehead. It could've been a diamond, a triangle or a circle, regardless I think it was added simply to make him look like a "cool" pilot.

Context is everything. I think you’re taking it out of context, and worse, you’re giving Nazi ideas oxygen by doing it. If you don’t like Nazism, don’t propagate their ideas, especially when the link you are attempting to make is so thin. It’s a red triangle. Get over it.

True. Please lock the whole thread. It’s clearly offensive to not just people who don’t like red triangles.

Not buying the, “it’s just coincidence” argument. Sure there are tons of symbols that can be interpreted to mean many things. With the timing and strategic placement of this Russian company, there is more to it. The history behind the use of this red triangle with the Nazi Regime was as a patch placed on political prisoners. The first people marked with the symbol and placed in concentration camps were Communists specifically those who were in the German government. The triangle with a letter in it signified that the person was not German and indicated which country they were from. So here in War Robots, you could see this as mark as some sort of tattoo he got as a political prisoner but escaped and became a War Robot pilot. It isn't a supremacist symbol.

It's... Just a triangle. Not every marking needs to be related by symbolism, it could just be a simplified arrow like it is on the targeting HUD. Pixonic has removed the iron cross from their German manufactured bots in the past and even changed Spectre's name from Exorcist as to not be offensive to some religions, so I highly doubt they'd do something like that on purpose.
To me it just looks like you're looking WAY too deep on the subject or looking to be offended by something. Like the dumb@$$35 who marked Pepe the frog and the OK hand sign as hate symbols just because some edgelords twisted it.

We Germans still use the Iron Cross for our Bundeswehr, on our military planes, helicopters, tanks, vehicles. I guess It's not a nazi symbol and our tanks can carry a Weizenbeer on their Kanone.

Of course it's not a nazi symbol, just like a 「fluffernutter」ing red triangle isn't a nazi symbol... Looking at that "nazi" symbols chart, one could only figure geometry is nazi... Let's dance a bit for a change, dancing make me smile

No need to get your knickers in a twist over symbols, most of them have been reappropriated through a VERY shady world history

There is an old county office building in Harlan Iowa than is ancient and has swastikas in the tile because it predates Nazi Germany and they just thought it was an interesting tile pattern.

I think in this particular case it is just a red triangle. It's a very basic symbol and not one of the more well known ones in regards to fascism.
My experience has been that Pixonic is very responsive to flagging hate speech and Nazi references in player names. I've reported several and they've always taken action.
You could try raising the issue with them thru the in-game chat. As I think it's unlikely to be deliberate I'd take the approach of alerting them that this image has Nazi-era connotations and asking them to change it. Generally the reps are just there to filter which requests get passed on up the chain, so you won't get an immediate commitment beyond that, but it could result in action soon enough.

Wow the people things worry about in a game, I'd say lets change all objects to squares and circles but I'm sure a circle has probably offended someone at some point in history..
