I love Loki. It stays a part of my hangar in live server most of the time, and I do think people should have the opportunity to explore it in beta. But, people need to understand the difference between beacon control in live server and test server.
Some people have said that part of test server is testing under regular combat conditions, which includes beacon control. I don’t entirely agree with this for the following reasons:
- The reality of test server is there are so many other tests being done that most people don’t play matches like they do in live server
- Some people are examining map features and not paying attention to combat
- Some people are examining the mechanics of robot, weapons, modules, pilot skills etc.
So how is Loki ruining test server? Well, multiple Loki’s, or even one Loki, run around capping all the beacons while people are distracted by all the testing they’re doing, resulting in super quick matches because the Loki’s keep four or five capping the enemy. This defeats the purpose, so I suggest Loki players spend more time exploring ambush tactics than capping all the beacons.

Yeah man, I don't get it. It's beyond folks just trying to get beacons. I'd go as far to say that folks just want to be pains in the 「bum-bum」 and therefore run loki's. I see them not even getting beacons, just running them to be a nuisance. I'll turn around and see two of them looking at me, it's weird lol. Not even trying to steal a beacon I'm guarding. Then I'll get hammered by rimes and they run off.

Especially ones that don't feature bots with Quantum Radar. So many TDM Skirmishes where 6 people chase a Loki for 10 minutes. ? Pixo ? Hello?

I just ran for another hour on the test server and there was at least 2 lokis running around at all times on every match.
Hopefully it's some of our members here and they are reading this:
Please stop wasting valuable time where we should be testing bots. Just so you know, you run a loki at the start of the match to get beacons initially and often you'll just eject after a minute or two to get into a brawler. You can run a later game loki if you want, but again after a minute or so of not being beneficial then eject. This of course does not mean run two lokis.
And you all don't have to run mings! For god sakes 5 minutes into the match I turn around and turn back and there's 6 mings floating around. Lol and oddly no lokis when you need them.

Pardon my ignorance as I've never been inspired to try out test server (and probably never will), is there something that is stopping you from starting another game after one ends? I mean, if you don't care about game play or winning, why does does it matter if the games are short? Just start another one and continue doing what you need to do.

If games are cut short, it doesn’t give time to explore the content. Yes, start a new match, but the point is to not have to

And if I remember correctly, test server games are not always as simple as "fire up game, push start and go" Wait times used to be far longer and then you have server maintainance to deal with. It's one of the reasons I stopped trying to do the test server as family time on the weekends keeps me out.
That said, it may have changed since then.

Couldn't agree more, but I would throw in a Zenit/Noricum Natasha in as one of the most useless TS builds you could use.
