ATTENTION MEMBERS & GUESTS
The need for all information about test server in one place has been mentioned many times, so here ya go. You can now post new threads about each test server in this sub-board. Please include the test server date in the title of your thread, as this will help clarify which version of the content is being discussed. Thanks
HOW TO JOIN TEST SERVER
Go to the War Robots Test Server Page on Facebook. Every time there is a new test server, Pixonic posts an announcement on their timeline. In that announcement, there are links for downloading the latest version.
Sometimes there are bugs with the download. If you make sure to delete the test server app from your previous session, it usually works like a charm.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT IT
Once you download it, when you open the app it will either open to hangar, or there will be a message indicating that test server is closed for maintenance and shows a timer of when the next session will begin. When that time arrives, open the app, where you can change your ign, link the account so changes and progress are saved, adjust advanced settings, create a clan, and adjust many things about your hangar/s.
What content is available is changing all the time, so you will need to explore the app with each new session. Generally speaking, it is recommended that you equip your robots with premium modules and fully prepare your drone hangar, all of which you have plenty of currency to accomplish.
It is not necessary to test everything a session is set up for nor do you have to fill out a report form, but it is helpful if you do. Test server is an excellent opportunity to explore game content before committing resources to upgrade stuff you may end up not even enjoying. It is also a way to enjoy content without having to own it, or content you may have sold but wish to run sometimes. As well, it is an opportunity to investigate new content, tactics, and counter-tactics either for yourself or to help your friends.
You can also create custom matches with others and perform detailed tests of things you or the community might be interested to know. Lastly, you can record sessions and attach your videos to your test server report and Pixonic will compensate you with a bit of game currency to your personal account on the live server.
A couple final things I feel people should know:
- All beta content is generally set to certain levels, such as 1.8 for mechs and weapons, and 16 for titans. But, check, because sometimes you can upgrade some of it a bit, especially on titans. Also, keep in mind that even though there are these capped levels, people are also equipping premium modules and setting up optimal drone formulas, so this brings significant enhancements to that capped gear.
- Throughout a test session, it is intermittently closed for server maintenance for different periods of time. Sometimes maybe only 15min, sometimes several hours.
- Although we should strive to play like it is a regular combat match, keep in mind that people are also just walking around to explore new map features or test things with their gear, so they may not engage in battle sometimes. If they are not engaging you or they shake their chassis in a gesture of ‘no’, it is good form to move along and leave them alone.
- In beacon modes, though we strive to compete, keep in mind that testing is being done, and if the enemy isn’t being aggressive yet you cap too many beacons, the match will end too quickly, so keep an eye on the beacons and try not to overdo it if the enemy team is clearly not making an effort. The objective isn't really to win, it is to test and have fun. So all you nincompoops cappin’ all the beacons with Lokis, stop it!
If you have any further questions, just ask.
