I've played the game for two and a half years and eventually landed in a couple of S-Clans. The first S-Clan I was in did full squads and used Discord chat (sometimes), and usually did well against most clans, however the "top clans" routinely beat us. Usually wasn't close.
I recently joined Mass Exodus and they are a very competitive clan and they often discuss higher level strategies. I'm learning a lot.
Here is the latest approach we take to squad play that you may find useful or interesting:
- Use Discord comms when doing full squads during the time when a lot of "top clans" will be squadding
- One person on comms gives direction
Try to have this composition for first wave:
- 2 x Ao Jun with Quantum Radar (or Quantum Radar Leech)
- 1 x Loki
- 2 x Ravana
- 1 x Nightingale
In battle, each member is assigned a task
- 2 players are tasked with hunting stealth bots while the others are used to capture / defend beacons
- Most top clan games evolve around center beacon. It is vital to capture it and keep it
- 1 player gets home beacon, 1 player gets the other "near home" beacon, and the rest go to center; those 2 players who captured home are assigned guarding home to ensure no one gets behind them (very important with Lokis and Nightingales)
- The 2 players at home can attack Reds close to center, retreat to home, recharge ability, rinse and repeat
- Ravanas are a must for holding beacons (we are seeing a shift in the META to have 2 or 3 Ravanas in a hangar now)
For Titans it's ideal to have
- 1-2 x Nodens
- 2 x Arthurs
- 2-3 x Ao Mings
Titan strategy:
- Nodens do not engage in the front line. They remain at home and behind cover to suppress the enemy and heal blues
- Arthurs with Nightingales and Nodens are used to push Red beacons / areas, or hold beacons
- Plasma Ao Mings are for mid-range support
I find it a lot of fun to go against other top clans and implementing the above strategies.
