I'm happy to report that graphics setting are FINALLY coming to War Robots through the WRR initiative. Apparently according to this handy dandy Youtube video, it is a major graphics rework for the game, which I think we can all agree was sorely needed, obviously. Now if 90Hz refresh rate comes out, maybe I'll be ecstatic, but the Test Server for it is now running on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We will see if we keep the braindead LVL 8 server nomenclature. Test Server link here: Robots.app/testserver (this is a separate branch from the TS that happens on weekends) More info here: warrobots.com/posts/312

Yup, stop spending on War Robots and save for a new tablet, lol. Older devices need not apply. Anyone else concerned about increased lag, which is already pretty bad.

I'm concerned for the lag issue but they claim that remastered will be easier for your device if it has all the requirements. I'm not quite sure how that works maybe because their trashing and rebuilding a lot of stuff kinda like a uninstall/reinstall

That is part of the reason for it, it is supposed to help with better coding. I imagine they are using a new game engine, also Adrian stated there will be levels of graphics quality to pick from..... Just saying we all knee jerk react to everything Pix does because they are such dookie heads BUT maybe something positive could happen!

If this runs with the same or similar engine as BoT I'll have no problem running the new graphics.
I upgraded my phone about a year ago to a Samsung A50 and holds many high demanding game very good and is no that expensive.

For the record, this engine supports devices all the way back to 2008. I would say it's time for an upgrade. Even so, the tech specs are very lax and include anyone that hasn't upgraded their phone in the past 6 years. For iPhones, it's iPhone 5s or better with iOS support of 9.0 and up. For Android devices, it's ANY Android devices that supports OpenGL ES 3.0. In English, if your Android device is running version 4.3 you can play at reduced settings, and if you have 4.4.2 KitKat you can max out your settings if your device supports it. On the bright side, I totally recommend getting a good phone with a high refresh rate display and a Snapdragon 855. You can find pre-owned Oneplus 7 Pros on Ebay at $300. Excellent phone with solid battery life, and it doesn't get warm when playing War Robots, but the framerate in-game is currently locked to 60Hz. Hopefully they'll allow high refresh rates in the Test Server.

The samples theyâve shown look freaking awesome, and Iâm hoping for the best. Iâm on an iPad Pro 11 and have screaming Wifi internet (200+ Mb+) so not worried about the requirements. Hereâs my real concern. I really enjoy the graphics now, so much in fact that Iâm willing to slog through those 80% of craptastic MM battles and maxed meta hangers making me wear my own 「bum-bum」 as a hat, just to get to the good battles. If the new graphics are that much better, Iâm afraid of how much more crap Iâll tolerate, lol.

They tried this with steam when the introduced War Robots to that platform. It did not go well.

Installed the test version. I'll know more in 14 hours when test server will be open according to app.
If they switched to Unreal engine, even devices like IPhone 7 or Android devices with Snapdragon 820/835 will run the new War Robots client very well. Unreal engine is incredibly efficient. Looking forward to the test!

Just saying we all knee jerk react to everything Pix does because they are such dookie heads BUT maybe something positive could happen! My expectations are extremely jaded, as they reduced their player base by half on the Steam platform by doing this very thing, then flatly ignoring the player base, even though they set up a thread for feedback. Pix took months to respond. I think most people use modern enough devices, but the implementation is not a proven strong point for Pix. My expectations is this will do little to fix lag, since that is at the server level. We also have to remember something-this upgrade is not finished, and will not be at roll-out. Due to their time and again proven inability to listen to the player base, I hold no hope but to foresee this failing in some major way. Either by something being taken away in-game or something failing dramaticallly at the user level. In the words of the dearly missed Quill-"I have spoken."

Pix needs to fix the never ending unresolved bugs, increasing lag (where there was none before), the crap MM, targeting malfunctions, spider bot mechanics, fix the economy, stop the endless stream of OP bots/gear and improve the basics of game play before this "optimisation" coming in the "future". The graphics do look truly spectacular but If I wanted this level of graphics I would buy a PC game (and not have to pay micro-transactions) not run a mobile (which this is) game.
On another note, great way to piss off your player base who can't afford new gear to run this even at lower levels by telling them to buy new tech (see Tofsla video for statement - iOS: iPhone 5s and higher Android: a device with OpenGL ES 3.0 support). There are a number of players that do not come from G8 economies. I don't know if Pix is aware that there is a global pandemic and financial crisis across large parts of the world - SMH!!!

I would be kinda skeptical, even Intel HD Graphics can usually run circles around an Adreno GPU on mobile. That's exactly what happened. The War Robots PC player population plummeted and people complained about not being able to run it. Don't know if Pixonic messed it up or if people are trying to play War Robots on ancient laptops/PCs.

There are a number of players that do not come from G8 economies. I don't know if Pix is aware that there is a global pandemic and financial crisis across large parts of the world - SMH!!! My guess is that they are well aware of the potential losses. Maybe this is the real reason behind the merge. Which players are the most likely to have inferior devices? The poor ones who don't pay for the game directly. They are the fodder and the merge had to happen to keep their numbers in check after a graphics update, but losing some does not affect their business as long as the important players are entertained.
I am sure they have the data on how much X devices are used in the game running Y operating system version. It is something usually you want to record about the users, even in a simple web app. So the maximum potential loss in terms of player numbers can be exactly, very accurately measured.
I don't think a 5S is a high requirement for entry level. Remember: War Robots was updated a while ago where the minimum requirement became iOS 9.3 something, I think in 2018. (I remember I complained about it in one of my threads because I did not want to upgrade my jailbroken iPad from iOS 8). iOS 9.3 was available for iPhone 4S as a minimum entry level if you wanted to play War Robots. 2 years later they move the entry level by 2 years (the difference between 4S release and 5S). I think this fair, linear progress.
About the pandemic: when was the last time pixonic cared about human factors of the game? They don't even care about software ergonomy and don't allow you to customise your interface layout.
Honest question: do you think you'll be able to play the game after this change? I'd hate to see people from here having their fun time / entertainment taken away from them and lose memebers due to this

What should be realised is that not everyone has access to a reliable and/or expansive 2nd hand phone market as described. The price quoted by the way would be the equivalent of $500 Australian dollars (aka pacific micro pesos ) so not so small an amount. That amount by the way would, in some countries, be the equivalent of 1 or even 2 months salary. Not everyone can afford a mid (let alone high) tier phone and some do the best with the cheapest arse brick that they can obtain. These will be the one's that are lost I think.

Good morning guys. Test app on Android still says "4 hours", so there's still some time. I'll do performance testing on the following devices: Iphone 5S Iphone SE (if the remastered War Robots runs smooth on 5S, I'll skip testing on SE) Nexus 6p (Android 8.1, Snapdragon 810, 3 GB Ram)* Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S (Android 10, Snapdragon 845, 6 GB Ram)* *Both phones don't run their original OS as they're running LineageOS so there's probably less bloatware installed which makes the devices slightly faster. If the new War Robots version runs well on the 2015 Nexus 6p which can be bought used from around 50 bucks, Pixonic did a good job. So, can't wait till test server will open.
Edit. I'll also try to install on the Samsung Galaxy Note 1, yeah the first one, from 2012 or so. Just for the LOLZ.
