Hi,
My 6yo found this game on Android and we were both addicted instantly. I run on a Moto X Pure with 3 gig ram smoothly but my Lenovo Tab 2 tablets with 2 gig struggled with the latest updates (they're better now that I rooted them and added 4 gig RAM drives).
I've had my account and the NerfDroid name for a month minus a day, spent exactly $9.98 for the two starter packs and I've really struggled with how fast I've advanced to a place where I seem completely outgunned, equipment-wise.
I've more or less followed Strayed's and a few others' beginner's guides and lurked in the forums to learn as much as possible. I conservatively managed my hangar and didn't go crazy with upgrading.
Using the old tiers as a loose guide (figuring the old numbers still mattered at least a little) I was running a light 4/5 and medium 2/2 and was working my way up to some premium weapons (magnums, tarans, and orkans). I earned my 5th slot mostly capping.
In very short order, I was winning 70-80%, leveled in high 20s, and getting thrown in Yamantau with 8-12 Britbots, Stealths, Carnages, Trident/Treb Fury's, and etc. That sucked so I tried tanking and went back down to the Private League to try and win some gold but I quickly leveled at 30 (and may have even wound up in tanking purgatory for a bit) and then rocketed back up once they started ratcheting the two beginner leagues. I've been as high as Silver II.
IMO, the MM these days considers exp level along with league score regardless of bot and weapon level or hangar weight. This may not be news to most of you but, if true, I figured I was in a catch-22 that meant no fun in the short term. I'm hopelessly outgunned, so I can either run an all beacon cap hangar with 5 Cossacks with shields to get the MoC or bang with the big boys in silver heavies and get destroyed (cause I don't have trebs or tridents or tons of other leveled weapons or gold heavies or WSP bots) and always place 4-6...no gold.
1 month, level 30, completely outgunned, forced to cap with Cossacks to earn any gold beyond the two daily tasks. I've resorted lately to running a heavy 6/6 hangar to change things up while the gold and WSP reserves slowly climb; I'm 48% and falling fast and the competition isn't easing (and heavy bots are slow and boring to me).
Still love the gameplay, just wish I could compete against similarly leveled hangars and not be such a liability. I can't imagine TT if this is how Bronze I and Silver III are!
Oh, and my son accidentally joined a clan named [play]...how do I quit a clan?
