The real question is not if animals can play games but if animals can play video games. And more relevantly, can monkeys be taught to play War Robots. Recent in-game experiences lead me to believe that they can, and moreover, they are already 15-30% of player population. And NOW, my feelings are hurt. I try as hard as I can. *sniff*

How can animals playing for fun even be an argument? Maybe some humans have been locked down too long recently..... Besides, I have proof! First, the wise guy pranks..... Later, proof positive that cats excel at dealing with robots.... Class dismissed

this is also in the subforum for people who are leaving but that forum is dead as ?dookie?. Somebody found out I was playing War Robots, That sounds super weird. I'm 15 (oh the shock, I've revealed my age... ahhh), my mother is very much against games in general. But I play them on my phone because I don't have a lot to do in the afternoons, one of the downsides of being homeschooled. I do everything in the morning. Anyway. She found out somehow, how I don't know. And now I have been forced to say goodbye to my little clan I built up on iOS, Transferred leadership to my madman of a clanmate and told him if I came back 'I WANT THE KEYS BACK' and possibly my Android clan and main account if she finds that on my computer. I'm just going to not play for a while. I'll still post weekly news and participate here, but you won't be seeing me as much in game. If any of you have actually seen a _FakeNews_ with the Nova Rising clan tag running around before. Welp, Guess its goodbye for now. Even the old Greeks loved playing games. Mankind plays games since, like, forever. Even animals play games and entertain themselves. May I inquire, if you're living in some very religious family? Anyway, see you around and I hope you'll be able to return playing War Robots and other games, soon.
Hand over your account to a friend so he or she can collect your daily silver and stuff. And a note to your mother: The average gamer today is about 36, out of three gamers, two are male and one is female. The gaming market in total is now a + 150 billion dollar industry with thousands of people working in the industry all over the globe. This is huge. Designing and creating software, not just games, is a major branch of the world's industry. Gaming is normal, everyone does it. I even know older folks who play bowling on their Nintendo Wii console (which is a lot of fun, by the way, golf is also great).
tl;dr I don't understand your mum/family. Be patient. You'll be a gamer again in no time.
Well, there is a good chance all of us gamers are living in sin and going to hell. Oh well...

When your mom has calmed down, ask her to sit, and try to strike a compromise with her. Extra chores, maybe. If your grades start to slip, it’s done until they improve. Only play for X amount of time.
If your mom is the type that video games desensitize children to violence, find articles from religious authors that say the opposite.
Don’t be pouty or difficult. Be asssertive.

Sorry to hear dude. Reading your predicament brought me visions of this dynamic. I hope you don't wear jeans. Start getting into music, but then you'll wanna start seeing bands live and... You could always tell her that you want to start playing music, but then..... All positives though. My oldest who is 17 and has Aspergers we let play any games. That led to Minecraft, led to Sketch up, led to a tertiary course in building design which could lead to Uni and an Architecture degree. My 14 year old who is also autistic plays Sims and has learnt lots of social stories by playing it. Social stories are how autistics learn how to be human. Has learnt lots about the world looking at you tube content and playing games. Your mum is just trying to do what she believes is right for you as she sees it. Once you're older which will be in no time and getting out in the world, you'll be able to do anything you want. And you'll have a whole life of that. You would have no idea how many times I've shouted "My house, my rules!" at my kids.

I usually chastise those that leave goodbyes in the General forum, but I'll make an exception for you since you're a good kid and are actually listening to your mother. I guarantee my kid would throw a fit, then agree to not play anymore, and I would then bust him playing the next day. Keep up the good work!

I've gotten the musician thing several times, I really like heavy bass music and would really love to follow that as a career. that received a but of backlash, and yeah. I understand that she's trying to do what she deems best and I'll respect her rule over the situation. But its still a bit annoying that I randomly had to transfer leadership of my clan.

That's too bad. I have a very open attitude regarding games in my household. As long as my son (my daughter doesn't play) keeps his grades up (he's a straight A student), he can play Fortenite all he wants. Positive reinforcement is the "hip" way of raising kids apparently. Seems to work on my 6yo. Sometimes to spice things up, we have bets - last one was he could play with my old ipad (the wife says we can't officially "give" it to him because he's too young) whenever he wants if he could maintain a grade; if he couldn't then I'd have his permission to cook one of our chickens that we keep in the yard. Guess who's playing with my old ipad now?

When you do get some independence, take things slow. You'll be overwhelmed by so many new things - learn to enjoy them and don't be in a rush.

_FakeNews_Sorry to hear you go, but I'm happy you're planning on staying to be active on the forum and all that. I also sort of understand what you're going through. I didn't have hyper religious parents smothering me when growing up, but mine were definitely a bit over protective and believed a lot of negative stereotypes when it game to games. My parents believed that me playing video games might cause me to get addicted to them and that would distract me from applying myself 100% to my studies and all that (didn't work lol, I was a lazy student anyway). They also were a bit alarmed by all the cyber bullying aspect of certain video games and didn't want me playing games where I would be able to interact with actual players. Trying to convince them that I'd be safe cause I'm not an idiot didn't work, cause they had their minds made up and didn't want to listen (parents, am I right ?). So maybe your mother is thinking along those lines as well. Wanting to ensure you're not distracted by games so you can study more (?) and/or to keep you safe from potential predators that lurk in gaming communities. When I went through that situation I had no say. My parents weren't interested in making some sort of deal with me like maintaining my grades for game time and all that. As far as they were concerned, it's their job to ensure I get an adequate education and to remove any obstacles I might have for that. Unfortunately they considered gaming to be an obstacle ?. And also they didn't trust online people much and thought I might get sucked into some sort of cult or do drugs or something ? But you know, I am TheDecepticonIdeal. I was sneaky enough to find ways to play games even when I was under parental lockdown. So if anything, my parents being hyper protective and restrictive of me only encouraged me to find weak points in their defences and exploit them. So, thanks mom and dad? I'm just saying all that to bring some possible theories on why your mum is being so against gaming, and to say you're not alone in this. In my story, as I grew older my parents eased off on me like most parents to and allowed me to do whatever I wanted, so I can play games all I wanted.

You are very well spoken for your age and I have thoroughly enjoyed your “news reports”. Please keep those up if possible. My mother and father were the over protective type. Mom went to Catholic school, maybe that is why. It was a pain growing up. They were dead against the metal music that I loved. But I will tell you that my brothers and I treat our family and others with more respect than my friends with the “cool” parents. And that my friend is priceless. IMHO. Hope to see you on the battle field again one day. ?

I have spoken with her, it took a long awkward conversation and several minutes of silence and pouring over grades for the year. It’ll be a little while but I get my account back in the summer. Yay! That's not that far away... nice one! Unasked for advice: Keep that same desire to work things out the right way (like discussing the situation with your mother knowing full well it may not come to a good conclusion) as long as you can with both your mother/parents and with the rest of life as it unfolds once you get on your own. Sometimes doing things the "right" way will get scorn and a lot of push-back from peers, but ain't none of them have to look you in the eye at the end of the day. You are the only one that has to look in the mirror and be OK with what you see there. No matter how stupid folks get, in the end, their opinion of you doesn't matter. Hang in there... IMO, YMMV
