So I'm sure many of you have mentioned someone in a post and wondered if they will ever even really see it. Many have also probably seen peoples names show up in posts as a hyperlink. Have you ever wondered what this is all about or how to do that? It is so that the user gets a notification, and it's called tagging, that they were mentioned in a comment. This way rather then quoting which can create some long and messy threads, you can just simply tag their name in a nice clean hidden format and let them know you're thinking about them! The process is very simple. Just place an @ symbol before their username and there it is! Magic. Now they will get a notification that says that they have been tagged in a post. It should look as follows, but be sure to use their username and not display name! @username If the two are different then simply click on their profile and get their user name in the text to the right and along the top of their profile. So if John's username is User and display name is Bobby Joe you mention user and the tagged link will show up as Bobby Joe.

Also, if you are on PC, you can just scroll over someones display name and you will get their username from there. Nice post, was thinking about doing it myself but you beat me to it.
