Hi all on the forum, I'm back after leaving just as the dash bots dropped. Well so much has changed in this game, it looks so different, so many more robots, weapons, maps and now there's titans and pilots. It's going to take me a while to figure out what's good, which is why I've joined the forum again. It's good to see my hanger is still there, it's a pity my clan is no longer active, any old AussieLarrikins [OZL] ID#11222 members here? To my surprise this is still good enough for my old place in the diamond tier, maybe with some practice I'll rise up to expert. I put a shield booster module in the ancilelot and a pilot too, can anyone recommend what i could do next?

Wow... blast from the past!
I caught this thread on a brief skim of the recent posts as I’m about to crash... so not a lot of advice to give as I’m dead... but just had to say how nostalgic your hangar is. I am sure I ran something very similar.
I will say get the Ghost pilot skill for at least one Lance... if not all 3 if you are going to play them for a while. I still run one in masters because of that pilot skill. The shield skill should be next... then mechanic.
I’m sure others will chime in but I’ll stop by the thread tomorrow and add anything that I think may help ya.
Welcome back!

To my surprise this is still good enough for my old place in the diamond tier, maybe with some practice I'll rise up to expert. I put a shield booster module in the ancilelot and a pilot too, can anyone recommend what i could do next? One of the most popular bots, is Phantom. It's fast and virtually indestructible if played correctly. It's a lot of fun too. Put a couple Halos and a Storm on it and pick up Legendary Pilot Olga Minina. This is a good start. Leech and Ao Jun are also very popular(more so than Phantom considering the numbers in play) but a lot of people hate them because they are difficult to kill and you often run into whole squads of them in champion. Get Legendary Pilot for one of your Lances. There are a lot of skills that make Lance a killer (but I haven't run my lance in a year or more so I can't give you much advice on that). I cannot recommend Hover enough. It's tough to master but a very fun and unique bot. (some don't understand and will deride me for saying so). Just collect Platinum for the new Titans coming this year. I wouldn't bother leveling the Kid. It should work well enough in Diamond and even up into Masters. Once you can see what else is available and you've had a chance to get used to kid, you can make a better decision to level or get new Titans or weapons. Welcome back. You left just after I was coming in.

Thanks guys for the advice and welcomes and it's good to see you're still here Tricky.
I've been looking into all the things you guys have pointed out and it'll probably keep me busy after dinner and until dawn.
I've figured out how to select a pilot's skill and that's why I came here, I need to know what to upgrade or spend my gold on. I just need to figure out if a legendary pilot is worth it.
I've looked at all the new bots and the one that jumped out as a real killer was the spectre, but it didn't get a mention. I'll have a closer look at the ones you've listed already, I've only invested two days of workshop time in the spectre so far. I think the Falcon looks good too but I'm not sure if it would be easy to pilot. I am keen to pick up a small beacon runner even though my aphid Stalker is still good so the Stiker or Phantom looks good.
Avengers look good but I use the Carnage's speed with Tridents or Zeuses to peek-a-boo strike from behind cover at 600m. I've thought about developing two Exodus, one each for my Orkan Lances but I haven't really looked at any of the new weapons yet. I have one Exodus in production currently.

Spectre is a great bot, but the stealth was nerfed to like 2 seconds which leaves you vulnerable if you don't choose your jumps wisely. Four medium weapons are still pretty formidable, case in point-the Leech. I picked up a Spectre soon after its release just over 2 years ago (It's release was Jan 31, 2018). It's fun but fragile. I've maxed mine finally and working on leveling 4 Shocktrains (for fun). Maybe the Pilots and Modules can help it survive. I see a lot of Champs and Masters players still running them. If you like Spectre, Inquisitor is fun too. It's a little tougher and the stealth lasts a little longer. I'm running an Ember/Taran MK2 lvl 1 (I'll max it after I finish leveling my Shocktrains).

Most important question first is: Are you F2P or do you spend a little money here and there? If you are F2P, it will likely take you a while to get any new stuff. If you spend here and there, it'll speed up the acquisition process a bit.
Orkans and Tarans don't do as much damage as they used to anymore. But, down in Diamond League, you might still be ok. My favorite Lancelot build is Avenger/Punisher T, or Leadhose. With the Ghost skill and maybe even Road Hog, it's like a brand new bot.
Start workshopping the Ao Jun right now. Its still the top dog bot and slap a pair of Avengers or Vipers on it if you get lucky. The Galahad is still a fun bot but you have to play it further back. I'd recommend Scourge/Spark (Taser). The Carnage is getting really hard to play. My last build before I shelved mine was Exodus (heavy Orkan) and this was surprisingly fun and powerful. If you want a direct replacement for it, I'd suggest Bulwark.
Let us know what weapons you have available too and we can offer more advice.

I did spend a bit on chests during events but I want to avoid falling into that trap this time around. I bought premium so that things level faster but I'm going to avoid leveling things up with gold. Although seeing gold being sold at a discount seems awfully tempting, no, no I shouldn't think like that. Bots I have Level 9 Rog, Stalker, Gareth, Jesse, Butch, Fujin, Doc, Galahad and Carnage Level 8 Griffin, Fury, Leo and three Lancelots. Weapons I have Ancile(10), Tempest(10,9,9), Trident(10,10,10,9), Thunder(10,10,10), Zeus(8,8), Treb(6,6,6,6), Nashorn (9,9,9,8), Taran(10,10,9,9), Tulumbas(8,8,8,8), Molot T(9,9) Punisher T(9,9), Orkan(9,9,9,9), Magnum(10,10,7), Aphid(8,8,7,7), Molot(9,9,9,8,8), Punisher(9,9), Spiral (10,10,10,10).

Ok, so here's some options for you. Trident Fury or Tempest Fury Tridents got a splash nerf so they are harder to use now to hit bots behind cover. But, if you get a clear bead on a bot, they still do tremendous damage. As for Tempests, I have 3 at L9 that I will likely be bringing to L10 before the end of Feb. I have them on a Falcon, but they work just fine on a Fury too. Being able to engage at range is starting to make a come back for people who can't go toe to toe against current meta and Titans. Zeuses are still useful but only if you can keep the range open. In Diamond league, I don't see a problem with Zeus Carnage. I've always found the damage from 2 Zeuses to be a bit underwhelming though. You have 4 Tulumbas, so I think a Spectre would be a good option. It's a glass cannon so play it wisely and it'll do wonders for you. For the Lancelots, I would probably recommend you go Tempest/Molot T and Tempest/Punisher T until you can get an Avenger or two. I did both types as I climbed the leagues and they both are pretty decent builds. I would also consider getting the Ghost skill too if you can afford it or try spinning for it a few times. Gareth and Rogatka are both high skill bots, if you have the skill then no reason not to run them. Take a look at BB's Rogatka vids to see what I mean when I say high skill level. Take your time and play around with what you have before spending any resources. Play the Skirmishes every week and if Hangar X is back, try that out in Custom matches with buddies or on your own. Also, try to get on the Test Server whenever it's available to try out builds. One of the nice things about the Test Server is that while most of the live content is available, all the bots are kept at L8, so you should get a real good sense of how things will perform for you on the live server.

Thank you all for taking the time to help and for sharing your experience. Seems like I've been too quick to dismiss the Avengers. In the past it was always either rockets or plasma now it seems they're no longer the in thing.

Good advice on here. I'd add that Old Economy is going away at the end of the month, so your Lances will get a *lot* more expensive to upgrade after that. I'd focus my attention there for upgrading until the next update drops. L10/11 is quite cheap if memory serves.
Welcome back!

Personally I'd say forget pilots they are a gold hog. Apart from that pretty much what others have said.

But those skills look like they'd make a difference. I might just upgrade my ancilelot's pilot for now.

Update on my feed back based hanger, it's now more of a combatant's hanger and less of a suicide squad. I bought one Avenger and raised it up to level 9 and it's a real killer, I'm enjoying dropping in behind titans in domination games to rip them to shreds. Unlike the Trident Fury many people underestimate the damage they're receiving when they're being attacked by the Avengalot. I'll definitely have to get more of these. The T-Pestalot is a great suppressor of enemy movement and picks off damaged bots with easy while staying safe. Because of this I find it draws the enemy's brawlers straight towards my team's brawlers. The Rog is a bit soft. I'll get a scourge and sparks eventually to put on my Gary initially and then switch them to my Galahad when I can afford it. The pilot in Anicilot has now got the ghost skill and its definitely worth it, no regrets spending 1000 Au there. Thanks all.

If you want to upgrade any of your current weapons/bots its certainly worth checking out the difference in cost between Old Economy and New Economy. The new economy was introduced after you left and at the time any equipment you owned prior to its introduction kept the old price. I think all your previous equipment would be OE. But that is about to change! Old economy costs are going to disappear at the end of this month! A lot of your stuff will probably not be effected too much but if you want to level any of your Lances or Tempests now is the time to do it! The difference in upgrade cost can be quite a lot. A new economy Lance cost 13mil silver to upgrade from lvl 8 to 9 and 25Mil to go from 9 to 10 Old economy Lance costs 5mil and 7 Mil for the same levels.
