We have decided to address an ongoing etiquette issue within the forum. This War Robots forum has come a long way, and for the most part is a community with minimal drama. This is because the moderators here believe mutual respect is important.
This does not mean we all can’t have arguments, but it does mean those arguments must be civil, unlike what is found in some other War Robots social media, where excessive cussing, name calling, bullying, flaming, trolling and so on is allowed. That kind of stuff is not tolerated in this forum because it is inappropriate, unproductive, and digresses from the purpose of the forum.
The main purpose of our forum is to connect players of all types, and have useful dialogue about the game, so we aim to remove content that creates a toxic communal exchange. The one exception where we are more tolerant is the Rant section.
In the past few months we’ve made greater effort to move threads to their appropriate sections, and we are considering a forum overhaul to make it a bit easier to navigate. In conjunction with this process, we wish to address a couple things:
Anti-Pixonic Anti-Game Content - player frustration is reasonable, and we commiserate together, however, excessive anti comments will cause threads to be moved to Rants. Since that is really the section they belong, if you wish to post about frustrations with Pixonic or Game Content, please do so in the Rant section.
The main thing we want to address is the way players are treated who pay to enjoy game content, you know those "Large Sea Mammals". We have seen many threads over the years discussing the validity or meaning of paying to play, or p2w, and continual reference to them in derogatory or demeaning ways. Because they are also members of this community, we are asking people to respect that everyone is free to play this game how they like, and not to continue the anti-payer language in sections outside Rants. If you want to post screenshots or discuss paying players, please do so in Rants, saving sections like General Discussion and Tips & Advice for more productive dialogue about War Robots.
Thank you for being part of this community and for your contributions to the game experience of your fellow players.
-Mod Team

Is there a way to put a big thick flashing outline on this sticky in the list? So folks don't overlook it. Something along these lines....

The problem with ranting is the fact that it sounds like a broken record and we all have the same feelings anyway so they essentially become rhetorical questions that become bothersome and destructive thus moving them to rants is just a logical administrative decision.

Having been on the receiving end of the name calling here, I support the mods keeping it civil. Thank you for the job you all do. Crazy question. Why is “h e double hockey sticks” not censored?

Certainly sounds reasonable, but here is where I have questions:
"Anti-Pixonic Anti-Game Content - player frustration is reasonable, and we commiserate together, however, excessive anti comments will cause threads to be moved to Rants. Since that is really the section they belong, if you wish to post about frustrations with Pixonic or Game Content, please do so in the Rant section."
How does one define "excessive anti comments"?
I suppose we're just going to have to trust the mods not to be overly aggressive with their interpretations. Can't think of a better policy myself, but seems like a slippery slope.
Thanks for all that you guys do though. I've been a mod on different forums and most don't realize what a pain it can truly be. Keep up the good work.

Was meant to be more like Facebook and discord servers. We have some of the same issues on reddit but that platform doesn’t have the ability to compartmentalize topics. Reddit is more active than ever though, it’s been fun there too!

As a suggestion...
Threads and posts that exclaim how the member is quitting the game or "how wonderful life is since they quit" should be lumped into a section called "GOODBYE CRUEL War Robots WORLD"...
I wish them well...but away from me.
(Maybe this is already done...I don't know because I would ignore it anyway)
I think the censor program that instantly replaces profanity is awesome...but I think it gets abused as we all know by context what was replaced... (Several of my posts are "salty"...so I'm just as guilty.) Maybe, instead of instantly replacing the word, the program could place the post in the edit box with a message saying, "THERE IS SURELY A MORE DIGNIFIED WAY TO SAY THIS...HERE IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO DO SO."
GUARANTEED...if someone is mad enough to edit his post 3 times to make it acceptable... they're MAD. And this may be valuable information to the forum. This may also reduce escalation of disagreements...just a thought.
That said...I appreciate the FLUFFERNUTTING, KICK BUM-BUM job the mods do to keep us FEMALE DOGGY members happy to be here.

Great forum. The ‘hating’ has always confused me. I’ve never liked the changes to the game that made me less competitive. But it is after all a great game with an even better community.
To that end I will play the game, spend as much as I deem reasonable, and thank you all for this interesting and valuable forum. Hats off to you folks!!!
Stay thirsty my friends

I think this is sound decision by the mods. Rants are not being censored, just put in the right section. I don't mind the drama so I'll still be clicking my "Recent" button at the top of the webpage, but those that need a break can click "No Rants"

Reddit is stricter for sure, no one is denying that, I’m a moderator there and it’s by design. It’s all based on your taste. Facebook = Full vitriol Forums = Vitriol contained into rants Reddit = Happy trees

what about Hover pilots. are they welcome here? No, they are not welcome here, nor Reddit, Facebook etc. Heck, they are not welcome at their own funeral. The Hover is not competitive in Champion league either, someone in the VOX clan made this bold proclamation a long time ago, and it made me rethink the entire game philosophy, gamers, users, community, Stan, monetization etc. Hover = no skill Hover pilots can burn in hell Hover is the lady in red from the movie The Matrix, it will slowly fade away.... Or not

Don’t like the software, never took to any of the communities, do pretty much fine without it. Have not gone there for robot stuff (nor Facebook (junior high lives)...no criticism of mods intended or implied here or there (or there...), I appreciate a well-moderated forum.

Some things should go without saying.
But hey you know, it's not the word you hate, it's the meaning behind it.
I ain't gonna sugar loaf anything, who the ã??fluffernutterã? came up with 'seal clubbing'? The ã??bundle of sticksã?in 4/12 mag Geps? You think I just forget ?dookie?? Is this horse?dookie? ever justified? Was I one of the only ones who always knew better?
I mean ?fluffernutter?. Grow the ?fluffernutter? up. ?fluffernutter?ing grown ?bum-bum? fifty year old children.
Oh wow cool my 3000th post. Burn that one

But hey you know, it's not the word you hate, it's the meaning behind it. But who determines the âmeaning behind itâ . Thatâs going down the road towards thought police. whale, to me is someone who spends a lot on the game. Whether I think itâs idiotic or not is irrelevant. Itâs just a term for a spender. Will minnow, dolphin, f2p get censored as well? Theyâre all just aspects of the same thing. Whales might use f2p in a condescending tone, shouldnât that be censored as well? there was a time â「really happy person」â was derogatory, now itâs embraced. The N word canât be used by whites, but blacks can use it. Itâs all just a pile of nonsense.

For the oldies around here, ya, words have become a lot more destructive, offensive and hyperbolic than the past. This is not because of the words themselves, but rather people. I always say, people are fickle... and with time, it has become more true than ever! Anything and everything feels like it can be offensive these days, opinions, feelings, preferences and meanings can all be subjectively received where a single individual can spark a domino effect of negative meanings or their personal offense can completely contort the original intent. Intent and context has no longer become relevant. The only meaningful context has become how the individual subjectively receives meaning from words.
That said, I am all for an overall attitude of "keeping an attitude of civility" on these forums. Basic courtesy and human kindness goes a long way. Censoring innocuous words can in fact be a slippery slope, but not everything on the internet is a democracy, and I usually keep my feelings of personal rights off the internet because of how the subject usually gets weighed down in politics.
Ultimately, thank you admins/mods for trying to keep the forums a positive, helpful and welcoming platform, I know you all mean well! I know it is a thankless volunteer job and I appreciate that you are active and willing! Cheers.

Great!! I guess Rants section is going to be my new home here on War Robots forum. I tried constructive criticism with pixonic, that did not help. I am convinced that it makes no difference whether you cuss them out or provide civil constructive criticism. Pixonic will do what pixonic does because plenty of timmies out there making it rain.

I don't start rant threads but I might toss a single rantish post into thread that may or may not be within the RANT SECTION. I don't think to check first. Is a rantish post permitted in a non-rant thread? And, if yes, would a single rantish post get someone else's thread tossed into the RANT SECTION?
I'm also unclear as to the line between rant vs. non-rant ... I know it's not always "...you'll know it when you see it... " and I'm not asking for y'all to spell it out in detail. I'm thinking that I'm not too rantish ... quantitatively or qualitatively ... but I still want understand better in order to respect the forum, the Admins and members.
Thanks!

It's impossible to quantify, even the most innocent threads turn into rant bombs. Sometimes there's a thread i'm convinced can go nowhere but south and ends up all sunshine and rainbows... shrug! I think the point is, often we will disagree - just don't be a 「wee-wee」 about it.

Those owning a single Hover are not welcome and should banned immediately. Two are the minimum acceptable number of Hovers to be kept in one's primary hanger and both must be piloted in 85.5% of battles. No exceptions.
what about Hover pilots. are they welcome here?

Itâ??s just a euphemism. But I suppose females have equal capacity to behave like ?wee-wee?s, although I have not heard this often, but they’re usually not called the opposite gender part either, in a similar context. I digress, I do like Hover, sheâ??s the best Phildo in the history of Phildos.
