I have previously commented on Pix next move regarding Titans and here it is. Based on what I have been seeing in game play the Titan uptake has not been that great (I certainly do not use them). I believe the real reason behind this is not about the Silver (I agree with Ⓑⓞⓑ Ⓓⓨⓛⓐⓝ that it will be crumbs) but to force all players to use Titans and, consequently, spend. |

Honestly, a blind man could've seen this coming. I dunno... it may be a huge scheme to make money and whatnot, but I like the idea of titans. Sure, p2w scheme, whatever, but I used to play titanfall back in the day and this has basically the same vibes to it... I think it’s a neat addition, maybe this update will change some people’s minds on titans. Pix should give us all some premium and say sorry for the massive mess up, and I think the majority of the community will link arms with pix this Christmas. |

Why should the amount of silver earned per damage point inflicted be different for Titans than any other mech? Why would Pix even consider they be different in the first place? Damage is damage.
Likely, it’s because people would be earning “too much” silver in Pix’s opinion (which would just fairly offset longer matches anyway). Of course, all this after a rather long series of nerfs to silver payouts over the years.
TBH, the last two sentences in their announcement come off as creepy.

Not sure it’ll make much of a difference. Titans usually turn up a few minutes before the match ends, and frequently on the winning team. They were already winning, so the titans were just for show.

Pix must have put a lot of effort into developing titans and as such it was most likely the latest major monetisation initiative. Then it flopped. Now Pix still wants the return on investment so they are buffing as many have predicted. Inclusion of associated silver reward is probably there to provide further incentive to use titans. Probably the 200M Ag deal didn’t work out well.
This to me seems closely analogous to the good old days of forced/strongly encouraged game modes so you run different hangers. Titans are forced into game play whether people like it or not. Same old I suppose, game is there to support monetisation and its not there to provide a great gaming experience and monitise as a result of such.

Lets not forget that the introduction of Platinum which is only available for RM in meaningful quantities is also a silver nerfing mechanism. 1/6th (17%) of the hanger is independent of previous currencies. Gold and silver lost their relevance by 17% if the titans are balanced for gameplay and even more if the Titans are balanced to be OP. Stockpiles of gold and silver have also been devalued by that 17%. There is no reason for the amount of silver earned per damage point inflicted be different for Titans. Its just another silver nerf that Pix is trying to get away with. |

My objection is that this buff is being done because Champion players are complaining how they can easily take out a Titan.
In Expert or lower Titans are currently tough enough. The only bot I have that can single handedly take out a Titan is my Invader. The non Champ randoms I play with don't focus their combined firepower so Titans get to stomp around for a while.
Another reason for the buff is to force us to use Titans. Frequently now I'm having a good run with a particular bot and I see two or three Titans heading toward our spawn. I'm forced to kill my bot and drop a Titan. Now this will happen a lot.

I just bought Titanfall 2 for $4 at a Dollarama! LOL, I"m actually liking the campaign and hearing Peter Cullin's unmistakable voice is just icing on the cake. What's funny is having my son watch me play the campaign. He's like "watch out for that guy" and I'm like "what guy?" and he's like "there bottom left corner...damn you're dead!" I can't play FPS games anymore, and definitely not on my brand new 65" curved screen TV! But, the game is definitely beautiful! |
