uploadI'm not interested in spending gold to unlock the 5th slot, at the moment. I'm not interested in a sniper setup either. I'm very tempted to get a Carnage and level it to 4 with the ECC thunders leveled to 8. I'm also interested in getting one of the light or medium Brit (shield) bots. My play style is to start with the Cossack and get at the very minimum 2 beacons asap, since I like to aim for the 5 Au per game for most beacon captures, any extra Au, I consider bonus. I'm not sure which Tier I'm playing at with my current hangar. Though I regularly encounter WSP & shield bots in spite of not running any myself. Also, does weapon levels matter for Match Making? I ask as very often I encounter Gepards with 3 level 12 EP Magnums and other low level bots with maxed out weapons. Just this morning my Cossack got one shot (mid-flight) by a Fury with 3 lvl 12 HRS Tridents on Yamantau map.

And then: get 5th slot. Its boring, it doesnt shoot things, but... its essential
Edit: ure high silver, I think. Dump that Destrier. Get a Boa (thunder + Orkan or Taran) instead.
After getting 5th slot you still have enough dough for a Galahad - he will be your friend all the way to top tier and is already usefull in high silver (note that hes treated as a heavy, matchmakingwise, so keep him and his weps a bit lower).
And yes, weps count in matchmaking.

The Destrier is pretty useless past rookie tier- get something else, preferably the thunder taran Boa. Be aware that the Carnage, along with all other WSP bots and Brit bots(Gareth, Galahad, Lancelot), will get you a hangar wide MM penalty and you may occasionally end up in top tier matches. If you are planning to run one of those bots, make sure the rest of your hangar is ready for at least mid silver first.
Weapons definitely count for MM and are weighted more heavily than bots, and unlike WSP and some gold bots, WSP and gold weapons do not give you any MM penalty, so there is no reason you shouldn't use them if you have them.

I was debating your decision a month or so ago. I went & saved for 5th slot. Although takes a while - if you are projecting long term - Benefits:
1) all those battles that you just needed 1 more bot.
2) you cant be more aggressive w 5 bots (def plus every battle)
3) all of this is compounded when farming. I went to steady low-mid 80% win rate.
4) Try out different bots / load outs in 5th slot
5) look at other posts - a big key to victory for you & your squad can be that 5th slot.
You have 7300 Au. -
I would puchase:
*Galahad - best bot all around
*5 th slot - best long term investment
*WS - what tier do you want to been in? Look where you want to go, then make a path that leads there. Weapons before bots!!
I grinded for 5th slot, then just got Galahad & Rhino couple days ago - crazy trying to learn both at same time! I want to be in gold so I got a Rhino.
I have15k in WS left. Trying to figure my next best purchase?

But if it is "what should I buy?" you guys said it best, I agree with all of that info.
Pssst... OP, what they said really is the best direction you can go... If you want to grow and get the absolute best tools for each tier that you can get. And Strayed's link is not to be ignored... Hindsight being what it is, I would have LOVED to have found the WIKI before I hit level 20... just sayin.

I was looking for advice on the state of my current hangar and was looking to hear what the regular players think about me getting the carnage and/or a shield bot. Additionally, I'm enjoying the Tier where I'm at and would like to improve in the current Tier before moving to the next Tier. |

Honestly, buying WSP with gold is a terrible idea. Gold accumulates at a much slower rate than WSP unless farming is the only thing you do, and you can get WSP with plain old silver, which is much easier to get. You can convert gold to WSP but not the other way around, and generally gold items are be stronger than their WSP counterparts.

If you don't want 5th slot then u better buy NOTHING.
The reason behind this is : a galahad is the best gold purchase in game, but once u buy it you will play gold tier. If you play 4 slots in gold tier you are an unwanted geust for your teammates.
Conclusion : buy 5th slot and forgot all you thougt u knew or don't ask advice

I don't have Carnage or Galahad experience so I won't comment on those. I would agree with others. The fifth slot is the best gold purchase I have made; Hands down. I recognize you do not feel you are ready to make the move to five slots, fair enough, I too am stockpiling gold for a future purcase
If I were in your shoes and I was not going to spend for the fifth slot I would buy a Boa equip it with your spare Taran and a Thunder replacing the Destrier ASAP. Leveled to 4 with level 8 weapons; it has a different play style than your other bots, more brawl, not as fragile as the Golem. You can be much more agressive than with the Destrier. I'd also spend a bit of gold on another Orkan as you would have flexability to swap weapons around from rockets to plasma on your various bots. If you like the ambush style of the Pinata equiped Destrier you can swap the Golem over to a TOP configuration, similar tactics but packs more punch.
This way you get to play with a new bot and have fun swapping weapons around yet save the bulk of your resources for when you are ready for the fifth hanger slot.
