If a UFO stands for unidentified flying object then by saying something is a UFO it is no longer a UFO because you identified it as one.

It's still unidentified because we do not know from whence it came. It's not like we can identify it as a Russian Su-27 Flanker. On the ground, the flying part of UFO goes from a verb to an adjective to describe the object due to purpose.
