Okay, so I started an upgrade on cheap low level tempests to verify it Starting with 192 million before upgrade. If it substracted NE price, I’d have 188 million Ag now. OE price is 1.6 million, that is why I have 190 million silver after upgrade.

That’s unfortunate. We would not be in this situation if they’d communicate and open their mouth after releasing a mayor update instead of going dead silent.

On the bright side, I got 1k from the gold chest. Easy come easy go Same. I rushed my mk2 Embers from 8 to max and a mk2 Scourge yesterday from 4 max, but I don't regret doing them. The gold wasn't significant. Most of it was selling items for silver (that I wasn't really ever going to use) and rushing upgrades with ads.

Well, I’m a little irritated because I didn’t want to dump 50m ag intothat scourge at this time. That said, when I finish pulsars for my tyr, I’ll put the scourge on my Fujin. Tyr isn’t durable enough for sustained combat now, Ironically the Fujin is. Slap a heal mod on it, and it’s curious durable.

Oh, the irony...my Tyr is plain ol’ Tyr, got nothing but L8 Pulsars and L9/8 Shredders and anti-control.
It is far and away THE bot I throw into the scrum. It won’t last forever, but it’ll take down anything.
Last match, it took down a Titan, two Ao Jun, several others...of course, I’m down in Expert now....
I was spared the agony of trying to rush everything OE by having spent all my silver, really relieved that it was a false alarm....

Never mind! It’s not an illusion:
Scourge went from 19,4mil for L12 to *45*mil...Dragoons and Redeemer doubled.
Light weapons seem unaffected.

At this point I have to agree with the OP. I believe it's a bug. I tried to upgrade a redeemer but did not have enough silver. It gave me a message that I needed to buy the silver with gold. The price to upgrade was the OE price. It's a glitch.
Stay frosty though, I would not put it past pix to do this in the future. It may be a trial balloon to see community reaction.

Thx OP for figuring this out I can confirm this IS a visual bug OE Redemer shown 32mil to upgrade but "only" 12 mil actually cost to upgrade (like it should be according to wiki)

integeritis It would have been so easy and saved a lot of frustration if they had come out and said that it's a visual bug. Thanks for testing this for us. Koko Bop Did you actually upgrade the Scourge, or are you going by just the upgrade price you are seeing? eluray Thanks for the confirmation. Looks like I'll be leveling all my OE gear I plan on using in the future to 12 just in case. As spartan44 mentioned, this could have just been a test run to see how the community would react to such a change. If there was enough outrage, Pixonic could just pass it off as a bug and come out unscathed.

If it's a bug, why didn't 5.6.1 fix it?
I'll confirm this later with a Thunder I know was OE 8. If I lose 6M it's bunk.

If I’d bought that $24 offer last night, I’d have done it then. So, okay, a “visual bug”, you say: but a very specific set of “visual” bugs? That only affect THESE weapons THIS way? Speaking as a programmer, this is no bug: call it a test balloon, but it’s not feasible it was a bug. Calling it a bug makes it an oopsie instead of an attempt to get away with wrecking the best of the old economy. Not an oops.

In this case i have to be the devils advocate its possible to be just a bug They had several visual bugs over the years, most of them without any harm and fixed and they was f***ing around with another new economy (new mk2 including adjusted treatment for OE gear) lately this realy could be by accident

Then they forgot to apply the same patch in the unstable branch, and here we are, back with the same bug they fixed few weeks ago. It really is just that simple.

I've confirmed that the price they actually charge is the correct OE amount. The silver price they list is not charged. OE prices are still in effect.
Was this done on purpose? That is the question. The fact that they have remained silent leads me to believe that this was indeed a test balloon to gauge community reaction. They even released a patch that did not address this huge and glaring issue. I could be wrong but something smells funny.

The only other evidence I have is to check the other thunder on the falcon in case the GUI update swapped them. But in this case, there is no hidden value. I can look it up in 20 minutes when we get the ads. yeeeeeep

That’s unfortunate. We would not be in this situation if they’d communicate and open their mouth after releasing a mayor update instead of going dead silent. The funny thing is, they probably haven't gone dead silent. They release one bit of information in one place, but rarely the same place twice in a row. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Website, Reddit, foreign websites, and so on. Chances are, players, somewhere, got informed, but the majority of players remain ignorant.
Tofsla is, apparently, the communications guy, but he doesn't appear to know how to communicate.

I also believe that this isn't just a bug. If all OE gear had their upgrade costs and times changed to NE upgrade costs and times, maybe. But the fact that this "bug" only affected weapons and not bots, and only the upgrade costs at that, makes it too specific for it to not be intentional. Either way, I would consider this as Pixonic firing warning shots letting us know that OE is on its last legs. Just in case, you guys wanted more proof that it's a "bug".

They haven’t fixed this yet?! It’s been a week and I thought I read someone say it’s been corrected but just now I upgraded a Redeemer for 11M but was only charged OE price of 3.6M. So that Redeemer is OE but I have another Redeemer that I don’t know about. I know I have several OE items but I don’t know which ones and now there’s no way to differentiate them. This is a real pickle to put it mildly.
Has Pix said anything about fixing this?
Also, at a certain point I won’t have the displayed NE Ag price to upgrade this Redeemer but if I have the OE amount of Ag that’s actually charged will I still be able to upgrade it?

An easy way to tell if a weapon is OE, is by checking the upgrade time with the time listed in the Equipment Upgrade Archive on the wiki since the "bug" only affected the upgrade costs.
I'm not entirely clear about your last question. Are you talking about how you would be able to differentiate between an OE and NE weapon that are both Mk1 level 12? If so, you wouldn't until you enhanced it. The best you could do is to keep track of which bot you equipped it on. For example, if you have a pair of OE Redeemers, I would keep them paired up and equip them on a say an Ao Jun or a Bulwark.

Thanks, I didn’t know time was still the OE value. I'm not entirely clear about your last question. Are you talking about how you would be able to differentiate between an OE and NE weapon that are both Mk1 level 12? What I mean is, the next upgrade of this Redeemer is to level 9 which is 17M for NE and 7.2M for OE. So my upgrade button will show 17M but the real cost will be 7.2M. Now, If I have 10M Ag and push the button will it go through and deduct 7.2M or will it say no, you can’t upgrade, you don’t have enough Ag?

You'll be able to upgrade your Redeemer to level 9 since it will only deduct 7.2M from your silver.

Yeah... I upgraded a level 10 old economy Thunder to 11 because it was only 8 million Ag. It cost me 16 million AG. I opened a ticket with pixsuckit to refund me the 8 million Ag difference and they told me it wasn't their problem and to go ?fluffernutter? off. Their "visual bug" is not their problem according to pix.
