This thread is slightly outdated due to a MULTITUDE of balance changes, but most points should still hold up. This thread will be expanded upon in the future.
First up I am casually dead, you might have seen some threads from me, but i have never delivered on my promises because I ama moron lazy.
Anyways what the hell is SMC? SMC is a battle royale game with mechas. The game (as of the moment of writing) has 8 modes 6(8) of which are battle royale related. These modes include: Battle royale/Night solo, Battle royale/night squads, Duos, battle frenzy(less players smaller kill zone), and pilot battle(where mechs replace airdrops) also a small gamemode like tdm exists.
The game gives you a tutorial, which isn't very good. It is based on teaching players, on how to play mobile shooters.
At the start of the game you will start out with 4 mechas
This screenshot is fairly outdated as 2 more mechas have been added and the menu got a makeover.
Before diving into the different mechas let me explain as to how a regular BR match goes: You drop on an "island", get loot, kill pilots, wait until the mecha charges up(taking up between 1-6 minutes depending on factors), get in the mech(after picking one you cannot change to a new one for the rest of the match), fight over mechs(when a mecha is destroyed the player is not killed, they just catapult), zone shrinks into oblivion, only 20-3 players remain and you/your team need to come out on top.
Pilots can find loot that can heal them/their mechas, mech rechargers, hoverboards, "transformer" car and some event specific consumables. Past that players can find helmets, chestplates, and leg armor. The quality of which can be told by distinct colors: green, blue, purple. On top of those items you can find several weapons lying on the floors of the map, or in chests, with the same rarities but they also include yellow weapons. Which weapons have which rarities is gonna be explained after my brief description of each weapon. btw no weapon pictures because i dont want this one post to yeet this whole page into its stomach.
Mini-SMG (green): you spawn with this weapon not good at anything. Could be useful if you could find purple smgs
Assault rifle(green-purple): Really high anti-pilot damage with solid accuracy. If you don't know what to use, this is a solid pick for close-mid range
Pulse rifle(green-purple): The damage is not as good as assault against pilots, but much more reliable accuracy and range.
Sniper rifle(green-purple): REALLY high burst damage against pilots and it also has solid anti mech dmg. If you can look past its recoil its way better than both rifles.
Explosive sniper rifle(purple-yellow): One shot kill agaisnt pilots and REALLy bad anti mecha. Only usable at long ranges.
Shatterstar shotgun(purple-gold):Really hard to use against moving targets, does outstanding dmg vs pilots and decent anti mecha.
Gun shield(purple-gold): Same as shotgun, but worse damage, spread and more ammo. Also it copletely counters any bullet weapon, this is only to be fought against with an AOE weapon.
Flamethrower(green-purple): Has fairly low dps against pilots and mechas, but when you can sustain close distance it can do killing better than any other weapon in the game as its AOE is huge.
Ion cannon(purple-yellow): charge up a shot to do fairly high damage vs mechas at a long distance. Really hard to use against pilots. This weapon does have some weird moments when you should have hit a shot, but you didn't
Grenade launcher: never use this against pilots, but no mech can walk away from this weapon without fearing you for the rest of the game.
Exploder bot launcher: launch annoying bots that can be one shot by anyone to slow done and deal high damage against mecha. If you find a good spot to spam them from you can win games easily.
Homing missile launcher: Has high anti mecha damage, and is very useful when the enemy pilots are using double jump/scateboards/deformed cars.
sidenote: you dont have to find ammo in htis game, you can reload as much as you want.
Onto the mechas. There are 10 mechs currently avaible with a 11th one coming before december(probably). I am going to list off some things about them.
This is firefox. The mech you play with in the tutorial. He is not the strongest, but he is fairly easy to play. If you wanna insist using this mech in later game it will be better to change your playstyle entirely. He has fairly high damage output. Excells at pilot killing
Arthur is another free mecha, you need to claim some pre-register thing that is avaible for everyone, for some weird reason. This mech does some of the lowest damage in the game, but his speciality is stunning opponents and his skillful mobility, this makes him an enjoyable mech to master and a hard challenge to overcome.
This is caramel. It has incredibly high damage output, one of the highest in the game. Yet he lacks mobility and accuracy. But it is not all over yet as he has an "artillery" form allowing it to perform med-long range shots at the cost of not being able to move. Excells at pilot and mech killing.
this is bird and it likes to bhop. This has fairly low damage output. barely outperforming arthur, but it has high range and accuracy. It has outstanding mobility and amount/height of jumps. Excells at annoying lower skill players.
Hotsteel is the first mech that is not unlocked on day one. Because he is a part of a weekly reward programme designed for new players. The mech himself easily does the highest damage in the game, but at what cost? He has a HUGE hitbox, fairly slow(when his fuel is low) and his primary weapon has VERY slow moving speed, which is why it has the lowest range in the entire game.
this is Androdead. Why is it nicknamed that? It is because it has gotten so many unjust nerfs, that it can no longer be called a bot that you have to pay in-game currency for. While it can still be used, there are just better options provided. And tomorrow it will get an hp nerf and a longer fuel recovery. Thank you game devs.
the only proper sniper bot. He has a low range teleport. And that is it. pretty good bot. Also there is no such thing in this game as one shotting a mech.
High durability, can make a durbale shield for him and his teammates, can create low damage turrets to distract opponents, or launch them far away to know where the enemy can come from. This is a proper support mech. Also this guy is like really hard to fight against in solos.
This is fire bakugan. This mecha can turn into a ball and launch himself at other mechs, dealing high damge. The ball form allows him to dodge a lot of incoming fire as well. Outside the ball form he can do a world of pain with his fireball launcher and lavafire missile. Be on the lookout for these ball yeeters.
This is hellbreeze. This mecha used to be so damned weak that they made it hte strongest glass cannon since spectre. People complain about his opness, but his popularity tells the devs othrwise. So they keep on buffing him. If you see these guys the best thing to do is panic and franticly move in random directions to try to dodge his incoming bullet hell.
Now i will talk about modules in this game. Now i know this can trigger some ptsd for you Walking War Robots fans. But they aren't last stand, dont worry.
Every mech comes with 4 modules when it is obtained. These modules will need to be found on the map to activate them. And they have the rarities of green through yellow. Green-pirple belonging to regular modules and yellow for core modules.
Core modules change the mechs completely change a mechs gameplay. For the best or for the worst. For each module slot there are 2 different modules. It is your job to pick the ones that you like the most and rush into the battle. The screenshot here shows 2 core slots. Those slots allows you to chose one of the 2 cores at the moment you spawn a mecha. However this feature is mostly worthless due to most mechs having modules htat overshadow the other. As to how to unlock the second set of moudle you might ask? You do it by paying money. Just kidding.
This screenshot shows the mech levels andd what you get from them. You gain 150 xp from a win in solo. and around 80 from being the mvp in tdm(as tdms only last 10 minutes compared to the >20 minutes of Battle Royale). After passing level 25 you will be unlocking some currency to unlock certain skins and avatar frames for your chat.
This is pretty much it. I have cover most topics a new player might want to know. If you all need to understand more about the game just say something in the posts in this thread. and please DO NOT QUOTE THE ORIGINAL POST, it is hella long and i dont want to see a page filled with repeating information.
