Do you think a Leo with a Thunder & 3x Magnums is a good setup? I have my Leo setup with Thunder & 3x Pinatas right now but am wondering if I would get better damage with the Magnums.. any opinions are welcome..

It is a decent setup, but I prefer Pinatas or Aphids.

It's not a bad setup for continuous firing and a viable option to a certain level. I would say if you don't have any plasma bots, this wouldn't be a bad one to use as the Leo has a decent amount of health and can be exposed longer than other bots. Pinatas and Aphids are a great setup as well but I'd say do it if you only have 1 plasma bot. 2's always a good number to have with plasma in my book.

I dont think either of the three main Leo melee builds (aphids, pinatas, or magnums) are inherently better than the others. They all will shine in some circumstances, while having issues in others.
I would not suggest expending resources just to change from one to the other, unless you are buying something that you know you will use down stream in more advanced builds.
Cheers!

Agree with Mr. Panda! I only slapped (2) magnums on my Leo because I was waiting to have enough gold saved up for more orkans and wanted to test him tricked out that way. You shouldn't go out of your way but if you have some spare laying around then go for it.

I like a Zeus with mags... all energy, all the time. Hang at 350m with continuous fire. Thunder / Pinata is a fine bot to lead with... having some splash can help against certain common opening opponents. I wouldn't change him around.

Thunder Pinata is a decent cheap counter to Brit bot's even Ancilots......As me and @kingkull were discussing here war-robots-forum.freeforums.net/thread/3510/leo-revised?page=2&scrollTo=63521The thunder will snap down an Ancile clearing the way for your Pinatas and will even score some damage while wrecking physical shields.

Attachment DeletedThe only set-up my Leo, Willie Dynamite, has ever needed... Triple Aphids... An Ancile... His Pimp Gangsta gold rope chain and medallion... And a whole lotta swagger, baby! Willie ran Harlem in the 70s with an iron fist and thirst for blood, power and the ladies...

Here is something to consider. If you see lots of Leo Thunder Pinatas, the Thunder Magnums are a good counter as they have slightly longer range and continuous fire. A Leo driver will almost always charge if they have a fresh red button. You simply backpedal and fire on them. Normally a teammate will target and assist before they can fire. That being said, I think the pinatas build is better, as it does damage faster, and against physical shielded bots, which are everywhere. A plasma Galahad will take your lunch money in a plasma Leo, but will stay back from a pinatas Leo.

Torso twist about 10-20 deg. off center after locking target. That will get a sharper arch up and down , I.e. higher aphid shots.
