For the holy spagetthimonsters sake, what is the intention of this? Still sitting on my silver hangar, and even though I made a compromise with myself (will go Heavys with weapons half 7/ half 8) it's still gonna take several more days.
Its not even an incentive to spend gold (given the number of weapons most heavys can carry, you could flush an imbecile amount of gold down the drain by just levelling one Griffins loadout from 8 to 9).
In the end it just makes me play less (I just try to make 200g per day including the 2 missions and thats it- I really wanna try something new (Carnage and Galahad already bought)).
Don't even wanna think about Level 9+ stuff.
Wouldnt it be an option that we could use the experience for every match (which is utterly useless after level 30) to speed things up? At least a bit?
#end of rant

It seems to be an annoying and pervasive idea following mobile games, I can say THANKGOD we aren't given a limited amount of battles per day and have to purchase additional fights. It's frustrating but I can see it sticking around because of the basic generalisation, that premium players have money but not time.
I haven't gotten to high level bot/weapons yet but the 1 day waits are bad enough...

Halloween was nice of them. Perhaps 100 gold all up along with small miscellaneous molot/punishers and a bit of silver.

Yeah, Halloween was nice and all (hell, I am the dude who got 2 Rogs and a Hydra for spending 5 bucks).
But 2 Thunders from Level 7->8 are over 3 days (or something like 10 bucks). The pricing of speeding up upgrades is so ridiculous that I doubt a lot of people will pay for it.
For like 1/3 the gold cost I would wave my mastercard and start playing low gold tier right now.
As it is I will wait, grind my gold and silver and sometimes stare at my Galahad and my Carnage in awe... one day they'll see the battlefield... one day...
I will have grinded the gold for a Chubbs by the time my weapons will be level 8. So another reason NOT to buy gold.
Dont think thats good moneymaking...

I don't think pixonic had any idea how to monetize the game. It seems like they are still in the process of throwing everything at it and seeing what sticks. We have vip membership, three different currencies, plus event currencies like the pumpkins. Some you buy directly, some you buy with others, some you can buy but at an increasing price the more you want to buy at once. The result is that some things are priced far better than others. At the moment they have priced themselves out of purchases. I'd certainly be more willing to buy speed ups if they weren't 10 times as expensive as anything else in the game. In fact I can not imagine anyone buying them other than at very end game when they have less use for gold.

I actually prefer the long waits and high costs of the speedups. It keeps the game experience closer to the same for Spenders vs Grinders. There is a point that is just too high for most spenders to keep spending... IMHO. Being in the TOP tier, you should have several months of experience behind you. Upgrade times with prohibitive costs help ensure that.

I disagree. They have to make money somewhere and this seems like an ideal place for it. People aren't buying a combat advantage, just a convenience. The resulting gear is the same. Is this not preferable to selling concrete advantages such as buying gear itself? If someone still pays a fortune to end up at a high tier as a novice they will end up as fodder.

Maybe you're right... but I like the idea talked about it another thread about selling packs for real $ more than making upgrades faster. IMO long upgrades help games like this... always something to strive for... no quick path to max is better over all... but again, just IMO. I know we think differently. And maybe you are right...
Now here is what I was thinking: packs of weapons for real money, that is a definite sale item that would generate plenty of profit. Or mixed Bots and Weapons packs. Like the Rhino with a DB configuration or something like that. Maybe offer some for more $ that have a few upgrades already there and name it the "DB Rhino Gold Tier Pack" if you just want to throw some shortcuts in there. Maybe each month have a different individual sale item (like, say, a trident)and 1 pack (like the DB Rhino, or just the 2 orcs and 2 pinatas, whatever) that people will actually want to buy (unlike the last sale I saw).

Eh, I play this game too much already. I'm scared what might happen if there was no upgrade waiting time!
