Sometimes i like to show all my love to my family, and there really isn't a better way to do than invading the kitchen.
I used Graham buns and double grinded beef butt, because it was on discount, and who doesn't like butts.
Coolesterol burger
I think this is the best burger i ever made! I had a dream about it, and in reality it turned out to be even better, definitely gonna make it again.
To make one you'll need:
- a bun
- fistfull of meat, gently shaped
- BBQ sauce
- emmentaler cheese
- gouda cheese
- roasted bacon
- caramelized onions
- roasted bull's horn pepper
Prep:
warm up the buns on dry pan, just to get hard cut surface, it'll be warm enough. Apply BBQ sauce to your liking on both cut sides of the bun. Add emmentaler cheese on bottom half of the bun. Season the meat with salt and pepper during roasting. When one side is done, flip it, season it. When other side is done, flip it, season it and add gouda cheese on top, leave it a minute or two on hot pan. Move the meat on the bun, cheese facing up. Add previously roasted bacon, caramelized onions and roasted bull's horn pepper. Cover it with top side of the bun.
To caramelize onions i don't use any fancy ingridients, i simply cut half of a large onion into stripes, put in oiled pan, add sugar and salt, and cook it on low until i get nice brownish, glueish result. Bull's horn pepper i roast on the fat leftover from roasting bacon. When you assemble the burger, you can use that fat to pour a spoon of it on top before covering with the top part of the bun, or if you wanna go one step futrher, you can even prepare your buns on fat coveren pan, thats always awesome.
Vegeish burger
This is my classic, been making them for as long i can remember.
To make one you'll need:
- a bun
- fistfull of meat, gently shaped
- homemade burger sauce (2tbl spoons of ketchup, 1 tbl spoon of mayo, 1/2 tbl spoon of sour cream and 1/4 tbl spoon of mustard, all mixed together)
- gouda cheese
- fresh lettuce salad cut in stripes
- fresh tomato slices
- pickles cut in stripes
- fresh onion cut in stripes
Prep:
Warm up the buns on dry pan, just to get hard cut surface, it'll be warm enouhg. Apply sauce to your liking on both cut sides of the bun. Season the meat with salt and pepper during roasting. There really isn't much more to this burger, guess that's why it's a classic In the background you can see plain burgers made only with meat and buns. That's how kids like their burgers, and that's what makes me wonder who's kids they actually are...
I really enjoyed making this post, bon appetit!
