Evening ladies and gents, i'm Marcus (game name XV104), i've lurked alot but looking forward to contributing and discussing. It's not a perfect game but I do love it (for now!)
I'm a Warhammer 40k and Armored Core fan and War Robots pushes all the right buttons. Currently obsessed with using the Exodus launcher, loving that burst DPS! Who else here is a fan of Exodus, and what's your best bot for it?

Who else here is a fan of Exodus, and what's your best bot for it? I've used one on a Strider quite a lot... but I wouldn't call that the best bot. I'd say any bot that allows you to get into and/or back out of Exodus range in such a way that gives you a chance to survive would be good.
Off the top of my head:
Ao Jun works when Quantum Radar isn't in abundance.
If you are gutsy and patient, (many might argue about this...) Carnage would do OK (with the right Pilot and player skills).
Strider - 5 Dashes gives you soooo many options.
Hades may do OK if you are good at timing the shield.
Rayker (suppression allows you to take fire and shrug it off)
Possibly Fenrir... since you can take damage like it's cool.
Lance with Ghost skill might be a good fit, using at least one lock-down weapon in the Medium slots.
...and my personal favorite (but not necessarily the best): Inquisitor with either Orks, Storms, or Coronas.
IMO, YMMV
EDIT: I forgot Mercury but that one is a definite possibility... Bursty goodness is made into Bursty Awesomeness when you include the Helldive.

Another vote for Exodus-Gust Strider although for Strider itself some other builds are a bit more effective. But E-G is solid and I'd say this is the best mount for Exodus.
Ghost Lancelot is a good one but I'd second having some energy shotguns mixed in. Exodus-Orkan does alright and I've gotten Wrampages with it in low Champs, but it helps to be able to keep shooting when up against a group of enemies and to have something that goes past 30Om range. Personally I found Glory-Orkan to be better and I'd bet Exodus-Corona would be even better still because you can cornershoot the lockdown. Unfortunately my Coronas are pretty weak so I haven't been able to test it.
Exodus is decent enough on a Mercury, better with Halos than Gusts as you can lockdown folks for the jump. But Glory and Ember are definitely superior heavies for a Merc.

Exodus Bulwark is a monster. Especially with all the pilot skills for the bulwark's phys and aegis shield. You can unload a full salvo in close to the time it takes for the shield to be depleted. Take cover, fast regen aegis, repeat.

Aww thanks guys, you are making me feel super welcome I have a pair of Exos on an Ao Jun currently, obvs any weapon on that bot is probably going to work. Been walking in, emptying the exos then flying only when I need to reload. I'll have half a clip by the time I land, so not defenceless. I'm finding that with all the PCs handed out duing the event currently, it's a bit of a no-fly zone up there! Rayker sounds like a fascinating choice, and one I've never seen before! Witnessed a well piloted Rayker with an Ember recently, thought I could squish the bug and instead got torched. Also have never seen an Exo on a Hades. Defo drawn to the Rayker though, just to be weird

Take cover, fast regen aegis, repeat. Great point. With 2 Exos, and an Aegis, you have a good chance on winning out a straight up damage trade... unless youre unloading on a T Falcon of course. I recently got my Exos to Lv 12, as soon as the upgrade was complete I took em out for a spin. I was midway through turning a beacon when a T Falcon and Scourgeasari spawned on me. I foolishly dumped the whole clip on the t Falcon, did barely a scratch, and the Scourgasari promptly cooked me. Lesson learned

Killed every ares I have met 1v1 so far. Oh and very good to have another player on the forums, are you out of a clan and on android by chance?

Really? I've tended to find halo-avenger was better because of reload/ammo management issues. But I have yet to get my shredders past level 8, and haven't had them at the same level to compare side-by-side.

Not traditional, but classic I do have a clan but we don't really squad up, must be different time zones or something.

Really? I've tended to find halo-avenger was better because of reload/ammo management issues. But I have yet to get my shredders past level 8, and haven't had them at the same level to compare side-by-side. but you can lockdown at 400m with the shredders and when you are within 150m it is *almost* a 100% LD chance, and mine are only lv8 rn so I have no clue how much better they will get. Besides, unloading a total of 88k dmg from your lights in about 4sec then reload for 3 is kinda insane, and gust on it's own does 96k in 8.5sec but after that it gets very low dps while the shredder does the total opposite, halo is the exact same thing but with only 65k dmg from 1 so shredder is better for using at 150m+ or for constant engagements and works better with the avenger because they both have the same range (halo has the same range but can't do anything at that range worthwhile) and about the same accuracy as the avenger making them deal really good dmg from mid range and still insane dmg up close, shredders are just underrated. when you set him up like that (avengers and shredders) you can actually lock people at mid ranges to 1 make getting close easier, 2 assist teammates, and 3 so your avenger AND shredders can deal good dmg before you get to brawling distance so your stomp can be mostly used to finish people off. I saw a huge increase in my dmg with mercury when I switched to shredders and used his range to keep people at bay long enough so I could reload and recharge then go in for some kills close range until my avenger is almost out then back off, wait for another opening and rush in to get some extra kills. my best round so far was on springfield and using the jack-in-a-box (as I call it) method, sit down in the river and jump from the back wall and you will fly up and over to right next to whoever tries to get to where they can hit you in the river then you jump kill and walk back off the ledge. on that round, the one that was my best, I got 22 kills and 2mil dmg or so (I didn't take a picture because I forgot) and so I think it is fair to say I did quite well with this setup so far. now always remember to STEP ON DEM REDS and happy hunting my friend

Would you like to hop in with my clan? we are fairly high rank and have a constant 1 or 2 players on so you CAN squad a lot, but there is a bit of vulgar language and we are usually back and forth with being on and off but still we do play a lot. If you don't think you can handle the vulgar language then don't join but if you can then it's your choice on wether or not you join. Also if you have a friend or 2 that would like to come along we have a bit of room we can make.

Welcome! I've been enjoying the Exodus on my Hellburner. It does great in a crowd, especially while using the Lock Down module.
