So I am generally pretty upbeat about whatever the humans throw at me in War Robots... Artillery players? Okay, I will show them how a real robot fights.... Ditchers? More reds for me to kill... But last night really pissed me off. I have not had this happen before. We spawn in Dead City, and I go up the long open flank in a Griff, with a Rhino alongside me. We capture the enemy beacon, and fight off 4 reds before we succumb. At respawn, I jump immediately into my Fury, because we left some wounded reds, and that is one of the only clear 600m shots in the map down that alley. I wanted to finish them, and it seemed like the best time to use the Fury on a knifer's map. I start my fast-walk over to get a clear shot, and then realize my legs are tangled with a Griffin. He moves me back. I step back to let him go where ever he was going. Turns out, I am his destination. Friggin guy keeps bumping and pushing me. I get away briefly and make it towards center beacon. He comes along, impeding me the entire time. You cannot see him here, but he's under me trying to block me in this shot.  The odd thing is that he is firing his Hydras occasionally too, all while blocking me. We end up dying together after a few minutes when red rushes center beacon. At respawn, I go Lance, he goes Leo. He starts coming right at me again, opposite of the fastest way for him to leave spawn. Screw it, I hit the jets and run the other way from him to leave spawn using the opposite exit. Dude follows me blasting plasma into my back the whole way. The whole thing was very aggravating, and I just could not put a positive spin on it. I don't think i cut him off for a beacon or anything, so not sure why he lost it. I have screenshots of his hangar and ID, as at the time, I was all bent on reporting him. Now I figure its not worth it, and should just "shut up and play", as our +DethHilt+ likes to say. Anyone gone through this? Was he trying to make us lose as a tanker? Or you think he was just hating on me for some perceived injustice. I actually tried to bring into a squad to ask him 「whiskey tango foxtrot」, but he did not join. |

Yes, maybe Dredd77 's right. I must have done something and was not aware. Recognized from the forums? That's a scary thought. I do forget we likely have lots of lurkers. His gear was mostly all level 11/12, and he was at 350k damage average and Silver 1 league placement, which is why I suspected tanking. He was blocking with this spiral/hydra griff, his opening bot. He had a Treb/Fury in his hangar, so I don't think it was an anti-Fury thing. Wish he would have hopped into squad and explained himself. Oh well. |

Had this same thing happen to me the other day. I was taking potshots with my Tri/CRV 'Tasha when a Mag-Gep comes up and proceeds to harass me in the exact same way the entire time I'm in that 'mech. Nevermind the fact that I'm helping to secure center beacon on the Canyon and popping Gareths left and right too.
I spent a lot of time looking for the Report function on Android after the match but, failing to find it, let out an angry breath or two and gave it up as a lost cause.
If this guy happens to stumble across the thread and read this: Your mom sucks bunions in Hell. :-P

Some people are just douchey. They were born that way, play games that way, and deal with others that way. You're doing all you can do by letting it go and not letting it bother you... I have taken that approach to a few things lately that I otherwise would have fought tooth and nail over, "triggered" if you want, incensed, fully involved like a 3 alarm fire, whatever you want to call it. It's nice to look at the bait and just smirk... knowing that they will never be appeased unless they make you rage. By just rolling with it, ignoring that worm on the hook, you immediately negate the harm they could cause, and most likely, the result that they intended from the get-go. Good on you!

@heavypanda I hate to say this, but at the level you and I play at in Android, the Fury is kinda like the Gephards were viewed in the old low silver tier setup by a lot, well some of the players. I think you ran into one of them.

@heavypanda I hate to say this, but at the level you and I play at in Android, the Fury is kinda like the Gephards were viewed in the old low silver tier setup by a lot, well some of the players. I think you ran into one of them. Interesting point. I will think about that. He did have a Fury himself in his hangar (Trebs instead of Tridents). And he was a close to max guy (level 11/12). So I am not sure he would be justified in viewing me as "clubber" in my 8/9 TT Fury, but maybe the tridents themselves were the offense. |

Sounds to me like a tanker. 11/12s in silver is a big sign. Even bigger is his/her persistent harassment of you. Tankers do that to take another blue off the field to help force a loss.
I think you should report such behavior so if Pix gets enough complaints they could move em to the ditchers queue.

I had a cossack do this to me on shen once. It got so frustrating I ejected into another bot and he continued. most frustrating match ever.

Ok I tried out my Ancilot last night and some dude in Thunder pinata Leo "rooster" blocked me.
I have a word for this now = Meta hate. I think they think that you are tanking and should not have these types of builds in iOS silver.

Been there done that. Not proud tho.
Furies loaded with, well... with anything, have always been centre of attention, jealousy and hate beacons.
Obviously because they could do damage without being hit.
Just a tip when you are being pushed.
As long As you don't move towards your pusher you won't "step" over it and he won't be able to carry you. Move sideways.

Uh isn't it because they wanted to throw the match and drop in trophies? So they blocked you since you were the biggest threat to the red team?
