I've got a RDB Griffin but feels wasted in silver league as there are not many shielded bots and a Molot setup would give more damage without the painful reload times and work better against fast bots. So on Android what league would RDB become a better option? I ask because I don't want to spend the time upgrading Molots if I have to switch back to RDB soon.

iOS or Android? Shield bots start taking over around Gold 2-1 from what I've heard from my clan members. (iOS)

Probably Gold league, as Darkangel said. The RDB will always be useful as you climb higher in the tiers. Molots are only useful for countering Furies, which is a big deal, but not enough to dedicate one of your hangar slots to that role unless you play with a clan.

Russian Griffin will start to lose its vibe in Diamond. I would have to disagree. In Diamond II and I gotta say I love me some RDB Griffin. It doesn't dominate but is a great support bot, if used appropriately. For reference, I run a 10/11 RDB. Advantages: - shield bots = dead. I can kill a Gal in 2-2.5 volleys and a Gary/Stalker in 1.5-2. It'll put a mean hurt on Lances too. - Great support for my team knifers. A full volley can take out a Carny or Ancilot shield so knifers can kill - Pre-hit beacon defenders while my knifers close, easier mop up duty for them - Great counter to aphid pattons, ahpid/orkan or DB Griffs - With good flanking, can even help out with TT Fury killin' - Provide cover fire so knifers can close Disadvantages: - shots HAVE to count due to long reload - Any plasma or Thunder Carny gets in close and you're dead (so don't let them get close!) - Zeus Carny, charging Ancilots can be problematic

You don't have to worry about the reload or Plasma builds coming in close. To this date, my Fury was never killed once (bought it 3 weeks ago).

To this date, my Fury was never killed once (bought it 3 weeks ago). I agree with that statement but it depends on play style and use. The TT Fury is a (mostly) stationary bot and limited on smaller maps. I like the mobility, versatility, and escapability of the Griffin better and for me, that outweighs the greater firepower of the Fury. The RDB is a great, late round bot to get outlying beacons while still supporting and/or finishing off reds. Thus, played correctly - not tanking but used for fast, mobile support - it is still very useful in high leagues.

I usually play 1-2 RDB Griffin(s) in Gold III but see everything from Silver II to Expert (mostly Gold I to Diamond II, because apparently Pix is punishing me for not spending money). There are plenty of tasty shield bots at all of these levels, but there are also plenty of ancile bots which are a pain for RDB Griffins.
However, your idea that a Molot Griffin would increase your damage might not hold. I've been running a Molot Griffin in place of 1 RDB Griffin for the past 2 weeks and I notice my damage goes down drastically the longer I stay in the bot.
Here's what I've found running molots: Fast bots tend to find cover pretty easily and molots take a long time to unload. Molots also just don't have the "punch" of tulumbas, let alone a full RDB salvo. Because of those two factors, you might be disappointed with molots if your reason for running them is to do more damage overall and/or to do better against fast bots. Just about the only time I'm happy to have the molots is when facing tridents that are unprotected by ancile... otherwise I find myself thinking I ought to replace the molots. Molots can be fun against Fury or Natasha but they just don't keep up in the overall damage department.
I'm about 2 days from putting the molots back on the shelf, and because damage is king in the league system I'm probably going to replace them with a Thunder Carnage to replace one of the longer-ranged setups with one of the shortest.

I don't agree with the statement that there are only few shield bots in silver leagues. I personally play in Silver I and there are many of them in my matches (Galahad, Lancelot, Rhino and a few Gareths). Also, I run two Galahads and a RDB Griffin myself. To me, the RDB is the better option compared to the Molot Griffin.

On iOS lots of shield 'bots and Griffins in Diamond I and Diamond II (matches include players plus or minus 2 leagues).
In fact some matches it is nearly all shield 'bots and Griffins with only a dusting of Carnages, Stalkers, and Furies.

I'm android and was initially placed in silver II but now Diamond I so been through exactly the area that the OP is asking about and I would definitely say stick with the RDB over molots. I have two brit bots and find those RDB griffins a right pain in the neck - much more mobile than a Fury, so harder to avoid and they can pop out from under cover - and still packs quite a punch.
I would say shield bots get quite prevalent from gold onward, so molots will lose effectiveness quite soon if you went down that route.

To me, the RDB is the better option compared to the Molot Griffin. What you see on each platform is different. What you see on iOS is comparable, roughly, to what you see one full League lower on Android. So for instance, what you see in Gold II on iOS is roughly what you'd expect too see in Silver II on Android. Between my own main and spare account and my clan mates who I often sit next to IRL, I see lots of battles from Silver III to Gold I. Plenty of shielded bots everywhere, though there are a few more toward Gold. The main difference is the guys in Gold use their stuff a lot better, whatever they're in they're more dangerous.
