Ok, I've been talking about this for a bit...and realized, I really should create a thread for it if I want people to try it out. Here is some sample game play. I don't know what this guy is using, buy my game play is nowhere near as smooth as his/hers/ There's only the Asia server right now, and for me, the game is a bit choppy but playable. The controls go wonky a couple of times too, but nothing too major since I don't take the game seriously yet. It's basically PUBG with mechs if you needed a description. You can play as both a human or mech, and part of good strategy is to interchange between the two because each form offers some pros and cons. The game was not available to me on Google Play, so I had to install Qooapp first. It's a 3rd party anime and comic themed play store. I actually saw some cool looking Japanese and Chinese games that I might try one day. www.qoo-app.com/enSo far, my experience with SMC has been pretty positive. I suck at FPS games, but actually like this one. It's not nearly as fast paced as Fortnite, and it's more forgiving that PUBG. I haven't spent any money on it yet, but if it becomes globally available with servers in North America, I probably will to support the devs. There is a leveling system, but I think that's just so that you can play with more skilled players - or actually human players. I swear there must be some AI bots in the game cause I can't explain how I actually won a game once. The mechs are all pretty balanced too. Each mech has it's specialty. I love the Teddy Bear one that can transform into a stationary tank/turret and fire shells with huge splash damage. But, the mech that I won with was the sniper one that can teleport. Very cool! Anyway, if you're looking for a War Robots diversion, check this out!

Moved the thread to the proper place.
On that note, just played my first game. I would definitely play this over PUBG to be honest. I like the variety and I'm an otaku anyway. It's easily available on the App Store for iOS

But, I think there's a mechanism to start a new game, which I might to.

The movements remind me of Macross. Not the big ship with the city but those F-14s that can turn into a robot or Gerwalk mode.

I'm having trouble finding support for this game. I mean, I like it no doubt. But there's not much info explaining some things. Like item colors & some other stuff. Plus being its currently an Asian server. I'm guessing theres not much English support to be found. I started a forum for this game. In hopes to find other players in time that can help each other out. If anyone here is playing this. Come on over & let's see if we can help each other. super-mecha-champs.boards.net/

Global release? Still only shows register status on my Google Play store. But I guess a full release that includes the US might be imminent.
It has a Team Deathmatch mode!
When I watch this, I wonder why Apex Legends didn't include Titanfall assets, and it would have been the smart thing to do. With the BR genre starting to get dry, new BR games should theme themselves so they can distinguish from each other more.

Laggy but I have been killing people.
Check your graphics settings and your system. Using a Snapdragon 835 processor so my tablet has some oomph. I may move this game to a Snapdragon 845 powered device, and plan to get an 855 device within the next months.
Graphical quality is very high. Skins are very nice both human and mech. So much of it already comes with the game.
With anime games, they often use Japanese voice actors to do the voice acting but this one if you are on the American side, it would use American voice actors that sound familiar from dubbed anime.

The Kuma is one of my favorite mechs. Right off from the start, the model quality of the mechs in the game are very high. They look seriously good. The number of mechs are not a lot, and the game is not P2W. You can get the mechs after you have enough daily logins and hours in the game, but its all those cool skins you have to aspire, pay and gacha for. The game monetizes for vanity.
The Kuma has a lot of intricate moving axis and it can even transform into a cannon.

Love that Teddy Bear mech! One game, I transformed into the tank and killed a mech in the distance that I could barely see. Then, cause I knew the pilot would land somewhere close by, I kept the barrage up until I killed him too! LOL. Gotta love splash in this game!

The game appears to have the makings of a super hit --- if the BR genre isn't so saturated, which is also partly because of NetEase's fault despite being SMC's own creator. NetEase has been introduce a plethora of themed battle royales lately, including Cyber Warrior, whose avatar customization is as intricate as some MMORPGs. Even without much fanfare, it has already exceeded a million downloads in Google Play in a day after its global release, which for the lack of fan fare, feels like a soft release. They are also tuning the servers with a maintenance down period on August 1. Given the huge size of the map, the game would have to use a large cache, and that means it is important for the device to have a large amount of spare internal memory --- storage memory, not RAM itself which can also help. That means its time to clean up the phone or tablet for unwanted apps, images, cache files and other garbage. Maybe Fortnite has noticed the game and is leaking or suggesting adding mechs to its game. www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2019/07/31/epic-itself-leaks-fortnite-season-10-super-mech-and-new-rust-lord-style/#62cc8f46541d

There are two reasons why SMC can handle mecha while Fortnite couldn't, and why Apex Legends, despite being based on Titanfall, had the wrong idea.
The first is that any player in SMC has equal access to a mecha. The mech is not a drop in, nor a random loot.
The second is that SMC provides weapons for the humans to take on the mech.

I made my first purchase for this game. $1.40 and I got the Joanna skin along with some stuff I'll likely never use.

I've been giving.this a go for about a week now. Hadn't done any Battle Royale games before this. I have no clue how other players move and shoot so fast short of using emulators, maybe large tablets that they place flat on a table so they can use more fingers. I am holding a phone using just both thumbs and it's a big handicap.
Still, I am enjoying giving it a whirl. Still a bit uncertain about the in-game currencies though. Anyone know how the heck you get power crystals?

I like that you don’t die instantly and get indication where enemies are. Pubg and Fornite I explore and gather for 10 minutes then Pop, I’m dead from nothing I saw. In SMC there’s a tussle, I get to square off and actually have a fight. And the mechs are fun, they break the game up into stages that’s more engaging and strategic. The hangar UI was overwhelming at first but now I just collect all the dingleberries and get on with it. Still haven’t acquired any energy crystals though, where does that come from?

They come from real life money. I got 60 from my first purchase. Not sure what I will do with it though. When I was playing on the Asia Server, I got an offer for the Gabriel mech for dirt cheap and won my first match with that bot. But, since then, I've fallen in love with the Teddy Bear mech (forgot name) and the Hot Steel mech as they're both splash damage types of mechs, and I still can't aim worth a damn.

As a matter of fact, you got people like that in War Robots, including Mr. Manni The YouTuber. You also have people playing PUBG Mobile and Fortnite mobile using Bluestacks on a PC. I might recommend a peripheral game controller to be used with smartphones or tablets. There is obviously a market for them now.

So this made it to iOS and I had intended to give it a go this weekend... which I did... but only got 1 game in due to A/C leak happening and soaking my closet (yay)...
Anyway, came in 6th on my first game (I have no idea if bots are involved on the first games or not) and ended up dying b/c I was outside of the circle in the last few mins. Never played a Battle Royale game before so I feel a little OK with the result. I definitely want to like it and mostly do from that one game... but damn the currencies and all of that mess are confusing. Figured I'd give it a few more games before giving them any money for a starter pack.
Between what War Robots has become and what this game make you go through to figure out how to acquire 「dookie」... man... I miss simple games with simple economies. That said... it was fun.
IMO, YMMV

Between what War Robots has become and what this game make you go through to figure out how to acquire ?dookie?... man... I miss simple games with simple economies. That said... it was fun. IMO, YMMV Yay, we have a convert! I'm gonna try to pry my son away from Fortnite and get him to try it too now that it's out on iOS! I've only spend $1.40 on it so far cause I wanted the Joanna character instead of the default one. Some things you should look out for: Resources tend to be in the building dense areas. You'll actually see a little status come up when you enter a new area and it'll tell you if it's a moderate resource area or something like that. I tend to prefer landing outside the dense areas because that's where most players would land in the beginning, and getting killed before your mech is ready isn't fun. Try to prioritize the colour of the chests you find. Like, the Purple and gold ones yield better loot than the blue ones. If you're lucky, you'll get the hoverboard or the robot car to travel in. These are way better than hoofing it on foot. You basically find the blueprint in the purple or gold chests and then touch the icon for it to build it. The hoverboard is fast and you can easily outrun the "storm". The car can transform into a biped mech with machine guns. I don't know if the chests are always in the same places or not though, so that's something I need to keep an eye out for.
